Faulty product requires review and recall – Overall we have been happy with this product but when we have spent close to $500AUD to purchase what we were told was the top of the range baby monitor at the time and to use it less than 2 years only for the charging port/ part on the parent unit to go lose and disappear inside leaving us with an otherwise perfectly functioning monitor that we… Read more
can no longer charge. This issue is rather disappointing and does not meet quality standards. I am currently in discussions with the ACCC to discuss the quality of this product so that other customers are not left in the position we have been left in especially because we have had a fairly unwell child and we rely on our monitor every day. To ensure the health and safety of our dear baby.
Could be better – Battery life on parent unit is useless, has to be plugged in throughout the night or it dies. Picture quality is awful, especially at night, making zooming in pointless as you can’t see anything but a blurry blob. Show details
Okay, but a lot of quirks – This monitor is reliable but has a few annoying quirks. There's a bright LED that's lit up whenever the parent unit is on, so it needs to be angled away from sleeping parents. The parent makes a "tick" noise whenever sound is detected in bub's room. The stand for the camera is properly useless - whenever we go to stay anywhere we bring Blu-Tac and… Read more
bits of string to rig up the camera because it's impossible to angle the stand in any useful way. I screwed a bit of angled wood to the wall in bub's room to fix the camera to the wall; the included magnetic mount again doesn't allow any sort of useful angle.
Disgraceful – This product is terrible, touch screen doesn't work. The picture is blurry, the battery doesn't last long. I've contacted Angelcare and they said the unit is being discontinued. So I'm left with a terrible unit, with no solution! Very disappointed, not work the $400 Show details

Breathing sensor great everything else terrible – We are 12 months in and have persisted with the monitor as we spent so much on it. The sensor pad is great as it gives us peace of mind and that's worth every dollar. The mount is stupid and is absolutely impossible to use. You absolutely cannot use the mount to angle the camera correctly and we've ended up buying a GoPro stand and configuring it… Read more
up on that ourselves so that we can actually half see the baby. Having said that the camera quality is terrible and you cannot actually see the baby properly anyway. It's really grainy and blurry. The battery on the parent unit has always been pretty useless and after both of his day sleeps it needs a charge even if I turn it off inbetween each one but just this morning I went to take it off the charger from its overnight use and the battery is completely busted meaning it only works plugged in now. The screen is so frustrating with the buttons being ridiculous to use. You need to almost break the screen because you have to push them so hard. The temperature thing is completely inaccurate and is a bright light in the baby's room which keeps them.awake so we don't use that anymore and have covered it with dark paper. All in all I've been disappointed with this monitor and will not buy this brand again. I'd hoped this monitor would be able to be used with my next baby for the price but after a year it's now rubbish because I can't use it without it being plugged in. Waste of money

Great concept, terrible execution. Not worth buying – I've tried to like this monitor, I really have. The overall concept is great, however the execution and design fall far far short of what you would expect from a product of this price point. The main issues are unfortunately deal breakers for me: - With the current technology available, you would expect the camera / screen to be half decent. It's… Read more
so grainy you struggle to make out basic detail. I'm surprised they can even source parts this bad.
- The mounting options are very limited in how you can angle the camera. The idea is great, a rounded magnetic attachment is easy to use, but the range of movement is too limiting. You can never angle it down far enough to see into the cot.
- The temperature display on the camera unit is way way too bright, and you can't turn it off or dim it. It's like a night light it's that bright. I had to pull my camera unit apart and disconnect the temperature display.
- The touch screen sensitivity is fairly poor. Its usable, but again given current technology you would expect much better.
I'm begrudgingly using it, but to be honest I wish I had bought something else.

STICK TO THE OLDER MODELS – I purchased the AC417 for my second baby, my 18 month old is still using the AC1300 and I love it. BAD MOVE!!! The touchscreen of the AC417 hardly works - so clunky, it is twice as heavy and twice as bulky, the battery does not last the night, the pad wireless connection is not great - Alarms regularly. The light in the camera is so bright I may… Read more
as well have the light on at night in the baby's room. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT, wish I had purchased another AC1300 for half the price!

Pads don’t work like last model – For 10 months we used Angelcares AC1000 which ended up freezing and needing to be replaced by the company under their 3 year warranty by their new product AC417. This monitor however DOES NOT WORK. My backstory is that my son did actually stop breathing and we got him breathing again having been alerted by the ac1000, and he was non responsive… Read more
until we reached the hospital so I HAVE to monitor him. The AC1000 has two pads and so it didn’t matter if my son didn’t end up sleeping in the middle of the cott (whose baby doesn’t move around in the middle of the night?). We have tried everything, adding more flat board underneath the mattress (although we didn’t need this with the last monitor). Trying to adjust the sensitivity which if set too sensitive picks up on the fan that we have running to help with airflow in the room so isn’t reliably going to monitor his breathing as then the monitor doesn’t work when tested. I called the company and the person who spoke to me suggested that I use the old monitor to monitor the breathing and the new for video... ah the whole reason we had to get it replaced was because it STOPPED working!!! Or you can just send it back and get a credit ... well that would leave me without a monitor luv and I DONT have that choice given my sons history! So now I feel I paid for the $360 for nothing and have to source an alternative without the help of the 3year warranty that the company promised because their replacement doesn’t work. The 3 year warranty was one of the reasons that I went for their product in the first place but it’s of absolutely no value if they cannot replace the product with a product that works just as well as the old one. I have been up EVERY single night shifting my son around disturbing his sleep and mine and my husbands who does 14hour shifts and cannot afford to loose any more sleep. We are more than dissatisfied.
