Great for peace of mind when bub is sleeping!
Babysense has given me peace of mind while bub sleeps. The sensors have only gone off once, and it was a result of bub wriggling onto the side of the cot and off the sensor pads. Happy with this product.
Firstly the quality of the product is very good! We had no trouble setting it up. Before purchasing we did receive some negative feedback that the product wasn’t reliable as the alarm would sound for no reason. However we purchased it anyway for peace of mind and I thank my lucky stars everyday that we did! The monitor alarm alerted us on 3 separate occasions that my baby’s heart rate must of slowed, at 2 weeks old she was diagnosed with a heart defect which went undetected & she had open heart surgery to save her life. So for that reason I cannot recommend this product more highly! I will definitely be using this product with future babies.
We love this monitor. Definitely gives us peace of mind when we put our little man to sleep knowing that it is on. We had to make sure we had the sensors placed in the right spot but once we figured that out it’s been perfect. Highly recommend this product!
A staple piece for any babies nursery!
We absolutely love our Oricom Baby Sense monitor! This device has given us piece of mind for every nap our little boy has taken in his cot. The quality of this item is second to none and it will be a staple in all of our future children's nurserys. My little one is seven months old and we still use this device religiously, it has always been accurate for us, I'll be sad for the day when we don't anymore. The only thing I found was that when my son began moving and would find himself squashed on the edge of the cot, we would sometimes get false readings, that was until we added the other plate and adjusted where they were positioned.
Thank you Oricom for making an incredible device!
Perfect for peace of mind!
The Oricom Babysense2 is a fantastic movement monitor! It is extremely easy to set up and it’s great that it doesn’t require a power point to be plugged into. As a new mum, it provides peace of mind knowing that I will be alerted if my baby stops breathing. A definite must have for any new parent. Highly recommended!
Perfect for newborn
The BabySense2 comes with two sensor pads and so far we’ve only needed to use one for the bassinet. I was a bit worried initially as I read some negative reviews about using this with a bassinet. We have a Bed Nest and thankfully it fits perfectly. Our baby sleeps in her own room so we find this product essential. She’s not bothered by the blue flashing light. I find the light helpful for me to do quick checks on the baby from a distance, especially at night. It’s worked really well for us and I’d recommend this product for peace of mind and stress-free sleep for the parents.
Very reliable! Works great, easy to set up. Love how you don't have to plug it into a wall so you have have the bed anywhere in the room, especially for bassinets and traveling. One this is the monitor button click is a little loud and wakes baby when I turn it on some times.
Waste of money
The sensor worked great when bubs was using a bassinet, however we had to find a way to position the unit effectively as it is only made to be installed in between cot slats.
When we transitioned baby to a cot, we had multiple false alarms and figured it was due to him being more mobile; so we started using 2 sensor pads. This however, made the false alarms worse and the alarm now goes off multiple times a day, often waking us and the baby. (As if we needed to be even more sleep deprived!!)
It doesn’t seem to be able to detect when he has rolled onto his side and quite often starts sounding almost immediately after we turn it on so I know it’s not because bubs is in deep sleep. I run the performance tests daily and also have called the Oricom call centre who made me run a series of tests and advised me the monitor is “working”. No duh.
I’ve tried even putting plywood down so the sensor isn’t sitting on cot slats and that has not worked either. My son is now terrified of sleeping in his cot. This product has made sleep training very difficult and belongs in the junk. Furthermore, we purchased the babysense in a bundle with a monitor and the monitor doesn’t go off when the sleep alarm does!! Waste of money
Great peace of mind
Being a first time mum, I wanted to ensure safety as well as extra monthlong. This pack also came with the secureview 710 monitor and is used daily in our home. We have never had any faults or glitches with it and it gives us extra peace of mind when our little one is asleep
Not compatible with bassinets
The new design with short cords means it's not compatible with any bassinet. I contacted their customer service for solution, maybe a longer cord? Their only suggestion was to ruin the bassinet by cutting a hole in it to pass the cord through.
Baby store suggested I just use it when baby is in the cot... That defeats the purpose of the device. I bought it for piece of mind NOW.
My sister has a previous mail model which is great, this redesign is stupid. Please consider where this will be placed. It's not practical to cut holes and weaken the structure of a baby's bed.
Absolutely love our Babysense2 monitor! We have had other monitors in the past but the Oricom is by far the best one we have owned. So easy to use and perfect for keeping baby safe. Highly recommended this monitor and if you need support they are so helpful in every way.
Everyone should have one! Saves lives
I purchased one of your under matress breathing monitors 2nd hand from a close friend before the birth of my first child.. at 8 weeks old she stopped breathing in the middle of the night and the monitor saved my babies life! It woke me sirening and i was able to wake her and she started breathing again.... just had baby #2 in September and my one absolute must have purchase was a new breathing monitor... 2 weeks ago my little girl stopped breathing in the middle of the night just like her sister.. she was 6 weeks old and once again your incredible machines saved my daughter.. i still have 2 beautiful little girls in my life and that is only because of your company so thank you, thank you so so very much for inventing these machines and continuing to sell them and make them better and better every few years. Spending a few hundred dollars has kept them safe and allowed us to rest easy at night, they are worth every bit of money in this world because they save lives! Xxx
Peace of mind
Monitor is easy to set up, has excellent sound and a clear visual screen. The vibrate alert with additional volume options is excellent to wake Mum but not Dad (who needs to get up and work) overnight, however we can turn it up if necessary. The breathing sensors are an additional feature we haven’t yet needed to use but once bubs is rolling we will be and have tested them and feel confident about their use. Highly recommend.
Good alarm with some flaws
Easy setup and loud alarm.
The alarm doesn’t trigger if you have the ceiling fan on any speed above the lowest, this makes it a challenge to use in summer.
There is a really bright blue strobe light on the unit, this is extremely annoying and we’ve had to cover it with electrical tape so it’ll stop waking our baby.
Would have preferred it to be wireless so we can monitor it from anywhere in the house. Plus any false alarms (ie when dream feeding) would be alerted in our main bedroom rather than waking the baby when you’re trying to be quiet.
Brilliant Monitor worth the investment.
The Oricom BabySensor 2 is absolutely brilliant for peace of mind for baby with in-build breathing and motion sensors alarming you if any indication occurs. Much better than other brands on the market, leader in design, great product I couldn’t do without with a new baby especially while I’m sleeping. I feel rested and assured this is just wonderful!!
Saved my son's life
We use the baby sense breathing sensor and the other night our 5 mo son rolled on to his face in his sleep and didn’t roll back. He was suffocating and not breathing properly and the alarm alerted us, saving our sons life. I’m so, so thankful! We have since purchased a second for his other cot in our room.
Wouldn’t raise a baby without it
Super easy to set up and really helps put my mind at ease. Thankfully have never had the alarm go off but when testing it the alarm is loud and would definitely wake us up. We own a few oricom products and they have all exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend
Fitness For Her
We have been using the Oricom Sense2 for approx 2 months now and think its a great little device. The camera quality is great and is really convinient in a double story house when baby is sleeping upstairs. Would love for the battery to be a little stronger and longer in duration but very happy with the purchase!
Randomly misfires, poorly designed.
We got this for peace of mind, but it's actually MORE stressful to have.
Firstly, it sometimes goes off with the baby in the cot/bassinet, when the baby is completely fine (even when awake/moving about. Some pressure sensor if it can't detect a baby rolling over)
Secondly, sometimes when you take the baby out, it DOESN'T go off. We picked the baby up the other day and went to feed him, only to have the alarm go off about 8 minutes later.
Lastly, the module ONLY has batteries, with no option for plugging power in directly. Not exactly a sturdy design when you're using it to warn you of your baby potentially dying. The batteries should be the backup option, not the main power supply.
Good product for peace of mind
We have been using our monitor now for 3 weeks and have found it really reliable so far. No false alarms like others have reported and we know it works because the alarm goes off when we take baby out of the bassinet and forget to turn it off.
I did only rate it 4 stars though because of some design flaws. When you turn the controller on it makes a loud clicking noise (I guess to tell you that it’s on) and this has woken my baby up more than I’d like (especially if she is only lightly sleeping). There is also a piercing blue flashing light on the controller to show you baby is breathing. We have it hanging off the basinet and I have to put a sock over the front of the controller, and stuff a nappy between the controller and basinet, because the light flashes so bright into the room and into the bassinet (blue lights are bad for disturbing your sleep so I find it interesting they chose to have this as the breathing indicator). I didn’t think much of it at first until night 3 I realised the blue light was flashing so bright into her crib and she was stirring a lot so I covered it up but I can’t cover it all the way because I need to see when she’s breathing, so it’s a bit annoying.
Other than that it’s been a great product, and if I don’t hear baby moving every 10-15 minutes I don’t panic because I know the alarm will tell me.
