Antique Baths Sydney

Buckled our original cast iron kitchen sink – I was quoted a price for re-enamelling our cast iron kitchen sink and I proceeded with the delivery to a local foundary for pickup and transport to Antique Baths. After quite a time the company advised that the sink was ready for pickup and gave me the names of a couple of carriers to transport it back to my local foundry. In the process that asked if I wanted a drain outlet. The sink had it's original brass outlet and I suggested that it be replaced "Oh no, that was damaged when they tried to remove it so they destroyed it" was the reply. The fine print advises that they are not responsible for anything except the sink (bath, whatever), but were quite happy to offer a new brass outlet for $245. Beware, take out the irreplaceable brass outlet before shipping. The finish is very good although the company will not guarantee that there may be pinholes in the enamel which "can be fixed by the owner". I read that as No Guarantee. All good so far except that our sink now has a bow upwards at each end of approximately 5-6mm where it sat perfectly flush previously and is very obvious, so their furnace is not kind to it. Prospective buyers of ready enamelled baths may be interested to know that their 'antique bath' may be just weeks or months old, as I learnt from the foundry owner who make them for Antique Baths for enamelling. I would not recommend this company

Faulty enamel on bath,lifting on exterior – The exterior enamel has lifted after 12 years. The company will only repair at cost to me of $550 . I have to pay transport costs as well. Warranty was for 10 years. Bath cost $2495. Enamel should be fit for purpose, at this price I expected better quality. The bath exterior takes no wear and tear. The bathroom is well ventilated with floor heating.
