Terrible card now that hey have removed all the benefits – This card used to be OK when it included a complimentary flight and lounge passes but since they changed that it has become pretty poor value for money. Also, I have spent 4 days in a row trying to get onto customer service to organise using with holds of over an hour each day. When I finally got through to a rep on the fourth day they told me I couldn't book my flight because of date restrictions. TOTAL JOKE. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CARD!!!!! Show details
terrible customer service from anz – They deliberately dont send you reminders so that you miss paying your full balance, customer service is very poor. We had to contact them several times to get our statements. woulnt recommend this card. It was good to pay overseas but there are other products our there with no international transaction fee. False Promotion and Bad Costumer Services – I applied this card because I wanted to get promotion that mentioned on their website. It stated that they give 2 lounge accesses and a free return domestic fight ticket every year, and 75,000 velocity points when spending over $2500 within 3 months. I have spent over $2500 and asked for points. They transferred phone to the other department over… Read more
and over, sometimes extension number didn't exist and needed to call from beginning. It took me forever just to talk with representative!!! They also talked very rude, all they do was issuing reference number and asking me to wait 1-2 business days. I just felt enough to deal with this, and decided to close this card. I had this card for 8 months, and I couldn't get velocity points they promised on the website. You see how long you need to wait. High annual fee with nothing in return. Never ever go back to ANZ!!!!
updated; I even went to branch few times to get velocity points. Although they try to work on it initially, they said they can't help and just file complaints on the feedback form. What nice suggestion they gave me. I don't wanna have any account with ANZ. Amazingly slow and awful customer services.
Its good but I can't take advantage of free flight – I have had the ANZ Adventures card for about a year. My friend recommended it to me as I got 40,000 signup bonus Velocity FF points and a free return domestic flights every year. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, Virgin airways is going under and I never got a chance to use my free return trip and that seems unlikely anytime soon. So for $225 annual… Read more
fee, I'm not sure if its worth it. ANZ website is easy to use, but their Rewards website is very slow and I give up trying to log in, so i haven't taken advantage of their online shopping to get more bonus points. I'm now thinking i should try another card that is connected to Qantas FF as i will get more use out.
Still waiting on velocity points – Have called multiple times every week past 6 weeks. regards to my bonus velocity points still waiting. Been well over the Spent limit I was hoping to use the points as a gift but that idea long gone very disappointed Show details
Complimentary return flights are great – Not often you can get 1 x return ticket within Australia for $225 so it is really handy. The rewards points are pretty good especially if you wait for bonus points on transfers to Velocity. Show details
Great card with great travel benefits – I really like this card because the fee is low given the benefits. You get a return domestic flight every year, as well as free Virgin lounge passes. When I signed up they had a deal where theres no annual fee for the first year as well as 100k Velocity points, so it seemed crazy not to sign up. I have actually kept the card beyond the free period just for the benefits. Show details
Handy - really TOO handy. No Overseas transaction Fees! – ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures Card. Ive had this particular card for a couple of years now after upgrading from another card during a promotion. I opted to upgrade purely as this card did not attract the overseas transaction fees that are applied to all purchases made using other currencies. I think I had amassed $40 fees in one particular… Read more
month. It is expensive at $225 per year as my previous ANZ Rewards Platinum was only $95 but the extra $130 is more than off-set by the lack of overseas transaction fees. There are also other benefits such as additional warranty time on goods purchased here in Australia & paid for using the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures Card. Further benefits for those who travel include Travel Insurance, Virgin Flights & Lounge access, VISA Entertainment etc. Rewards points are accrued at 1.5 points per $1 up to $2000 per statement & 0.5 points over $2000 per statement. I usually redeem my points for Shopping Gift Cards & for the whole year, the amount I redeem is usually around or more than my Annual Fee, so for me, this works. Interest rates on all Credit Cards are high, but I pay my statement in Full (auto payment so I dont forget) on the day it falls due each month so there is no further interest or fees applied. It is purely that $225 Annual Fee. Online statement access is easy & always up to date. I have been hacked once & ANZ were quick to cancel my old card & re-issue a new one. The Charges that appeared that were not mine were also sorted within a couple of weeks without much stress. The department who handled this were great to deal with as was my local branch. I had the new card sent to my local branch via their internal mail system rather than relying on Australia Post to deliver it to the correct letterbox. Picking up from the local branch after producting ID, was only a few days after the card had been ordered. My new card was activated at the same time as I collected it.
CONs Like all Credit Cards they can become too convenient & get over used.
Conclusion - I love my online shopping & as this ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures Card does not attract the overseas transaction fees that are applied to other cards it is the most suitable for me. Even with the $225 Annual fee, I usually redeem sufficient shopping gift cards each year to off-set this fee plus I save on overseas purchases by not having that extra transaction fee that applies to most other cards.
Good for anyone who travels regularly – If you travel often (especially overseas) this a decent card that is coupled with fantastic customer service. You are given a complimentary return Virgin domestic flight, which I found extremely easy to book and you also get two single use Virgin lounge passes. The annual fee of $225 is quite high in comparison to other cards and the 20.24%… Read more
interest rate will make you cringe a little when the statement arrives, especially considering the less than desirable points offering that this card provides you with. You can earn 1.5 reward points per $1 spent however this is capped at $2000 per statement period and anything above this amount you will only earn 0.5 points. If your expenditure is usually high I would suggest you consider other options. The lowest credit limit available is $6000. For someone like myself who prefers having a lower limit this is less than desirable but made worth it by the complimentary travel insurance it provides to the entire family when we go overseas. Their is also no transaction fees charged when using the card abroad which makes travelling a lot easier eliminating the need to cary cash around. I will conclude this review by again mentioning the high level of customer service that comes with this card. ANZ are so pleasant to deal with and if you have any issues you can be assured that someone will personally sort them out and get back to you. I have found this is not always the case with other banks and you continuously have to follow up to get any kind of resolution. If you need to contact them the time on hold is always minimal and the internet banking is user friendly for those who are technologically challenged.
Pros - Excellent customer service. - Travel and health insurance overseas - Free domestic return flight within Australia and two lounge passes. - Easy to navigate online banking.
Cons - Disappointing Reward scheme. - High annual fee. - Minimum credit limit. - Charge for additional card holders. - Interest rate higher than other banks offer.
Great value for money card – Affordable Annual fee. Free Return domestic flight ticket in Australia. Two lounge passes. No foreign exchange fee. Free travel insurance. Over all it is a great card to keep. Reward redemption is easy. Good customer service experience. Show details
Excellent card - only if you travel domestically – I signed up through a 75,000 points bonus promotion which makes the card well worth it in the first year. The bonus points are Velocity points, but the points earned per dollar is in ANZ points. The annual fee is quite high at $225, but worth it if you travel domestically at least once per year. The only annoying thing is needing to book 60 days… Read more
in advance. I personally would prefer a $225 voucher to spend on flights so you could also use on international (though I understand others will see more value in booking east-west coast flights).
All in all, an excellent card and highly recommend if you can get value out of it.
Good Card! Great Reward Airfare for a Cheap Price – Great card. Got the card with the annual fee of $225 and this included 2 Virgin Lounge passes and a return airfare to anywhere in Australia This was excellent value and I will continue to use this for the airfare. So far haven't used the card overseas but am satisfied with the rewards available. Though the low points rewards is somewhat of a… Read more
drawback for spending significant amounts on the card. Other cards would be better suited for more substantial expenditure. Redeeming points is fairly easy and can be completed on the ANZ rewards website.
Dont even bother! – ANZ trying to attract customers with the points and benefits but not worth the hassle. Service is very bad. Card was delayed multiple times. Lots of different messaging from different customer service streams. Did not arrive in time for my international holiday which was the whole point of the card. Cannot set or reset pin online. Had to go into a branch to show identity documents.

Annual fee well spent :) – Get ANZ points when you use the card for payment, which is very standard for a credit card with annual fee. I like the card with the fact that I can redeem for return tickets for a domestic flight with Virgin. Redemption needs to do on a phone, I thought it would be hard but indeed it was easy. Be reminded to check fight schedule before you call,… Read more
from my experience, some flights in good timing in near future were not available, given that fact that you needed to book it at least 60 days before, so plan ahead. So far I think I love this card.
Good if you need to fly domestic every year – The annual fee is $225 but it gives you one return domestic flight plus two Virgin lounge passes. You cannot sell the flight and you will need to book two months in advance. The point scheme is pretty ordinary at 1=$1. It will be good for someone like me who need to travel domestically once every year. It will be even better value if you are… Read more
travelling during school holiday or public holiday when the flights aren't cheap. The downside is you need to book two months in advance by calling ANZ (no online booking) which is a bit of hassle. So unless you need to travel, I dont see a big merit to this credit card.
Great credit card for use overseas/when travelling anywhere! – Great card, reasonable fees and excellent extras (insurance, one free domestic flight on Virgin each year, points etc). Best part is no overseas transaction fee! I use this card when travelling or when making any purchase in a foreign currency. Show details
This ANZ Credit Card is value for money – This ANZ Credit Card is value for money The 225$ is totally worth it because you can book an return domestic flight which totally covers the annual fee Also get 2 lounge passes free every year No foreign transaction fee comes handy when you do an overseas trip Show details
Great signup bonus and free flight – 75,000 Velocity points sign up bonus is pretty good, plus you get a free return flight which totally offsets the annual fee. I found the sign up process and organising a direct debit somewhat difficult - you had to go into a branch which seemed unnecessary. But overall worth it for the bonus points. Show details
Has made such a difference to how we operate our household finances! – This card is awesome! The cost of the card is negated by the free flight each year. Use the card when purchasing overseas for $0.00 currency conversion. Apple Pay works great and have set this up to use with 2 people, that saves the extra cost required for an additional card holder. Good card for anz points – This card came with a virgin points bonus upon application, its varied since but its a good incentive to get it. The points per spend are anz points which can then be converted to your award of choice. There is an annual fee of $249 which covers the use of the card, a domestic return flight on virgin each year, 2x virgin lounge passes and travel… Read more
insurance when travelling. There is also a concierge number you can call when you need information about travel or anything else. I've called this number a few times in regards to organising the complimentary domestic flights and the customer service is quite helpful. There is also purchase protection but i have yet to claim/use this yet. Overall I use this occasionally but the high interest rates (20%) are a killer if not paid on time.
Great if you travel overseas – I took this card for two main reasons, overseas travel and complimentary annual flights. Overall it is a great card if you travel overseas a lot due to no overseas transaction fee. Exchange rate is very good, so it can be used as a good alternative to carrying cash. However, when it comes to complimentary domestic flights, I didn't quite like it… Read more
as there are very few seats available for a particular flight. The chances of getting a flight in peak season is next to impossible even if you book months in advance. So the only way to redeem the complimentary flight is to travel in off-peak season and booking well in advance. This is contrary to the flights offered by AMEX whereby you can book anytime you like and you'd easily get the flights.
Other pros include complimentary lounge access and point rewards for dollars spent. Annual fees is excessive if you take into consideration that you won't be able to use the complimentary flight in peak season.
Great extra benefits for travel and online shopping – I have this credit card for a couple of years. Although it has a high annual fee, I do get the more than it back due to the annual free domestic flight and the rewards points which I convert into gift cards. As I travel every year overseas, it is great that it comes with travel insurance if I pay the tickets with the credit card and am one of the… Read more
passengers. The other advantage is that if I buy overseas for online shopping, I don't get charged a transaction fee, just the conversion rate (which is of course in favour of ANZ, but not too bad). So I have been recommending this card to my friends who travel overseas and also like online shopping. The only drawback is that the free annual flight has to be booked many months in advance to get the date you want. In terms of security, they are quite good as well. They approach you proactively if there are odd patterns in your purchases to ask if it was you.

First credit card - OK as a travel card but not quite as good as it sounds when you sign up – I got a good deal on this card - bonus 80k Velocity Points. That's the main reason I signed up for it, actually. The yearly fee is high but I figured it would be offset by the points + the yearly domestic flight. Rewards: The complimentary flight is hard to book - you have to know 2 months in advance, and have to actually CALL to make the… Read more
booking. I just moved to Adelaide and there aren't a lot of options available - not quite "any domestic flight", as it states - I can't go to Hobart, for example. The lounge passes were nice, but again, cumbersome - they actually MAILED them instead loading them onto either your velocity account or allowing you to walk in with your credit card. I had to wait 4 weeks to get them. Domestic only, so you need to have a connecting flight within Australia to use them.
The card itself: I'm happy with it - because I always pay full closing balance there are no additional fees. I've used it overseas too, no issues. I tried the overseas ATM withdrawal without cash advance fees perk recently, I am not sure if that worked or not.
Overall: if there's a better deal, I will jump ship, otherwise I think I'll keep it.
Great card with great incentives – I was able to grab a good deal on this card. I used it overseas and found it the best way to shop in Thailand. You aren't charged any unnecessary fees and the exchange rate worked out better than cash. The velocity rewards allowed me to travel business class. The only thing better would be so that you can accumulate velocity points quicker. Show details
Good for overseas travel – Good card to use if you are traveling overseas or buying online from international sellers as you avoid the various overseas transaction charges. Yearly fee is a little high, although there are a number of benefits that offset the fee. Points earning is ok, although nothing great. Show details
Rude customer service – I am shocked by the rude and snarly girl I just spoke to, whilst trying to organise my ANZ rewards complimentary flight. The attitude of girl left a bad taste. After asking to repeat the flight options the girl had a diva moment and it was all too much trouble. I expected better.
Redemption is extremely time consuming and confusing – Tried redeeming points today. Actually went into a branch a very polite ANZ worker did all the computer work (other than my password) for me. Despite over 10,000 points having been transferred, nothing is showing on my account. No points have been transferred. Phoned ANZ cards. Was told my inquiry would be escalated and that I'd have to speak to… Read more
the Rewards Centre, which is currently closed.
This card is expensive and I don't recall being informed that I'd have to wait 60 days to book it's supposedly free return domestic flight. This information was provided in brochures but I was encouraged to get the card on the phone when I cancelled another ANZ card.
Not good enough ANZ!
ANZ Travel Adventures Card – 20 minutes wait for customer service - just not good enough. $225 annual fee is too expensive as it takes too long to earn enough points.
