Thieves. Stay Clear! – Took my deposit. Kept making excuses why the removal has to be pushed due to weather, while I could see on Facebook that other people around me were moving just fine. Refused to answer the phone. Refused to provide a refund. Victoria consumer affairs invoulved. Do not engage this company under any circumctances what so ever.

Thieves – Apex Logistics is a dishonest and fraudulent organisation. I paid a deposit to move from Melbourne to Canberra. My father suddenly and unexpectedly passed away during the peak of COVID in April 2020. I requested that my move be postponed. They agreed. The lockdown then began and I was based in Canberra taking fulltime care of my mother after her… Read more

deterioration from the loss of our father. There was no way I could organise the move because of the extraordinary circumstances of the lockdown. They informed me that their terms and conditions required that they complete the contract within 6 months without considering that their terms and conditions applied to normal circumstances of no COVID and no lockdowns. They withheld my deposit and never returned it upon many requests to refund me the amount. The issue has been raised with the Victorian Ombudsman and Consumer Affairs of Victoria. The latter contacted me informing me that many clients have had similar issues with Apex Logistics Solutions and that they had commenced an investigation into the company.

Terrible! Dodgy Removalist! – Terrible! Dodgy Removalist! Scammed us into a cheap quote then held our belongings for ransom and extorted so much additional money. If you don't pay upfront, they refuse to deliver furniture already loaded with the 50% deposit already paid. Unprofessional removalists Apex hired from Gumtree. Came to our house without blankets and or trolley. … Read more

I had to give my blankets to cover the timber furniture. And they don’t take any responsibility for breakages. Please DO your homework before thinking of hiring this company!!

SCAM company - avoid at all costs – As others have mentioned, an absolute scam. We wanted a full service removal (packing, moving, unpacking) over two days and was given a good spiel about an excellent service. Instead, they took a 50% deposit upfront, then provided incompetent's management, organisation and service - which included not organising enough packaging materials, sending… Read more

people to pack for 4.5 hours rather than 6 hours which is what we paid for, sending people to move our goods with inadequate equipment, and not completing the moving job. After the first evening, they demanded the remainder 50% amount and refused to complete the job until the money has been paid - i.e., extortion.

On moving day, we weren't even sure movers would arrive after the conversation the night before about payment. Apex sent two people who had never worked with each other before, and a truck with next to no moving equipment - except one dolly with flat tyres. The woman from Apex was 1.5 hours late to deliver the truck for the two moving men. One guy was waiting an hour for her to arrive, and was not paid for that hour. The movers were not given the key to the moving truck, so then had to wait half an hour for the key to be brought back. We also had to wear the costs of this incompetence. I feel bad for those two guys who got caught up in it. They did a great job considering the situation and inadequate equipment.

The movers could not complete the move in one day. Then despite still having "hours paid upfront" for packing, moving and unpacking services, the woman from Apex demanded more money to complete the move through "requesting another quote". We had to find and pay other movers to complete the job.

Avoid this company at all costs. The absolute worst management and organisation. They still owe us hours, and I cannot bring myself to deal with them again.

Be aware this is a SCAM Company – We have lost over $10'000 and still haven't got everything. They would not release our furniture and everything else unless we pay an enormous amount of money. Nothing has been delivered and sits in storages. There are many people who have lost money and all their belongings. See on Current Affair the whole story. The company accused of holding… Read more

Stressful move and confusing invoicing – We used Apex to move the contents of our 1-bedroom apartment in Canberra into a storage unit in Wollongong, as we were going to travel for 3-4 months and then move to Wollongong. Prior to the move, Apex was easy to get in contact with and easy to get a quote from, and the price and service provided sounded reasonable. The rate was quoted by the… Read more

hour, with a time estimate for the move. This estimate was to be the minimum amount charged.

On the morning of the move, the removalists were delayed - however, this was because one of them had woken up unwell that morning and was required to take a covid test. In this regard Apex did their very best to source an alternative removalist at short notice and ensure that our move went ahead, which we really appreciated.

However, things went downhill from there. One of the removalists (we assumed the fill-in removalist) appeared to be very inexperienced. The fridge was knocked against the doorframe as it was being moved. Outside, the removalists spent a very long time slowly moving items into the truck and then slowly re-arranging them several times. We had two bicycles which also needed to be moved, and they were standing off to the side, so we repeatedly mentioned to not forget the bikes. A long time later, the removalists finally appeared satisfied with the arrangement of everything and went to close the truck doors, at which point the bikes were still not in the truck. So they had to spend another long time rearranging everything to get the bikes in.

Once this process was complete on the Canberra end, we had agreed that the removalists would drive the truck and my partner and I would take one of our cars, and we would all go to Wollongong and meet outside the storage unit. However, we waited outside the storage unit for 2 hours after driving to Wollongong. We were not kept informed at all on the whereabouts of the truck - after about 1 hour I called and was told the truck was still 45 mins to 1 hour away.

Additionally, after about 1.5 hours of waiting and no truck, I received an email with an invoice. The invoice was confusing - there was no breakdown of rates or hours, even though we had been quoted an hourly rate prior to the move. When I called to ask about it, I was told I had to pay it before they would unload our things. Eventually I worked out that the charge was equal to the minimum charge based on the time estimate (which had originally been quoted excluding GST). Nonetheless, the job was not yet completed, so it felt odd to complete the payment for a service charged by the hour.

Finally, upon arriving they opened the truck doors and there was someone else's huge chest of drawers also in the truck with our things! So they had done another removals job in the middle without telling us, and because of the resulting huge delay for us waiting in Wollongong, we were extremely late for a commitment we had that evening. Because of this, the removalists rushed the unloading process, and I felt that they were very rough with our belongings. We also felt obliged to move many of the things ourselves as we were running late. There were also several times where I repeatedly tried to explain something, and that was ignored or misunderstood (e.g. in the storage unit, the items could not be leaned against the lift walls, but this was done anyway).

As a final point, when we got our things out of storage at the end of our travel time, we saw one of our drawer units had had a corner knocked off and then loosely taped back into place, which Apex had not told us about. Because of the delay between the move and when we saw the damage (about 4 months while we were travelling), we couldn't raise this issue with Apex directly and be compensated for it, which is understandable. Nonetheless, I find it upsetting that they did not tell us about this damage at the time.

It was a very stressful day for us. Posting this review has caused additional stress, as I have been threatened with legal action as a result. I would not recommend this company.
