Not perfect, but a very solid laptop if you're willing to do repairs – I purchased my Early 2015 8GB RAM 2.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 MacBook Pro in 2016 and still use it daily, but it hasn't been a flawless experience. The original 256 GB SSD completely failed in 2019 and I replaced it myself with a 512 GB SSD from Fledgling. I was warned at a repair shop that non-Apple SSDs often fail, but that was a lie. Apple… Read more
SSDs are overpriced and do not last. The new SSD is still going strong 5 years later. I replaced the battery in 2021 and it was an ordeal to remove the adhesive. A tiny fragile plastic component in the trackpad connector broke as I had to disconnect it when replacing the battery, which is definitely a fault in the design and commonly breaks during battery replacement. Since replacing the battery, the shift, fn and control keys on the left are no longer backlit. At some point the left speaker began to sound strange and create a buzzing noise at higher volumes. The coating on the top edge of the screen has lost its shine. The webcam is very low quality and grainy. Those things personally don't bother me. The laptop performs well and easily handles my habit of having 100+ browser tabs open at all times, along with other programs. I'll hang onto it as long as possible because it's so repairable. An obvious plus are the USB-A and HDMI ports, and SD card reader. Of course those used to be standard features, but they are very appreciated.
Battery issues after 3 months, died after 6 monthd – Bought a Macbook Pro 13 in Oct 2022. The battery started shutting down. Now 3 months in when unplugging the cable the Macbook dies. Apple wants to charge me $459 for this whilst under warranty. No liquid damages and when opened up the technician indicated corrosion is occurring on some of the connections! Apple quality is now very poor! Last Apple product I’ll buy! Show details
Display cable replacement = screen replacement – Screen started to show horizontal lines, Apple service said it is the display cable, but it is not replaceable, have to replace the entire screen which they offer for $1000 :( Why they complicate design and then we pay for that, really disappointed

3 failures in 6 months – In the 6 months of owning my mac (It was purchased via the refurb store. )it had the screen and the keyboard replaced. When the screen failed AGAIN, they agreed to replace my computer. Their options were; 1. Pay full price for a new one and they will refund me the difference once my broken mac is inspected (ie several week later) 2. Send the… Read more
Mac back for inspection and if they are happy, they will send me a replacement.
Rather than be a further $2000 out of pocket, I chose the later.
Apple arranged for a courier to pick up the broken computer.
Not only did they not arrive, but the tracking number that apple supplied also showed there was no active job linked to it.
After around 20 calls to support (i am serious) i was passed on to my 4th "senior advisor" who basically wanted to start the process again.
I have a life to lead outside of talking to Apple and waiting for their non-existent couriers to arrive "sometime between 9am and 5pm" so I have decided to abandon the case.
I wonder how many other customers Apple simply wear down through their appaling "customer service"?
Thankfully in my case its a cheap laptop - it wont break me, but i would never buy a big ticket item from Apple as you might be thousands out of pocket with zero support.
And all of the above happened within my warranty period.
you couldnt make this up.
Best laptop I have owned – The design for this laptop is light and compact, which is an essential factor for those having to carry a full backpack. In terms of functionality, it operates much faster than other laptops I have owned (all with Windows operating systems), and throughout the 2 years of use, it has not exhibited one single glitch. Personally, I find it quite… Read more
sturdy as no noticeable damage has been caused by rough handling - I frequently put it into my unpadded bag (without a case) and then sometimes accidentally set the bag quite firmly on a hard floor, as well as leaving it in a hot car repeatedly. During operation it is whisper-quiet, and I have not yet noticed it emitting a high amount of heat, an attribute which differs from all my previous laptops. One other noticeable difference is that following a fairly quick charge, it has an impressive ability of maintaining battery life. However, the most striking difference between this MacBook and all my previous laptops and computers is that it has not lagged in terms of function in any way over time.
I honestly can't fault this – Purchased this in December 2017 after being fed up with my slow Lenovo Windows laptop. Yes, it's price is hard to swallow, but it's made up for in performance, design, build quality and of course, the software. If you are in the Apple ecosystem, the MBP will be a no-brainer! Even without owning other Apple products (at the time of purchase), this… Read more
was still on my 'to buy' list. Some would say that I should've coughed up for the Touch Bar, but I think it's unnecessary (base model is fine). One thing to note is it doesn't have your traditional ports- instead the base model comes with 2 Thunderbolt 3 (USB C type) ports, which you'll need an adapter for if you want to plug basically anything in. This is something I'm willing to deal with though as the MacBook Pro is a great, reliable laptop capable of achieving what I want to achieve.
I would consider myself to be somewhat impatient when it comes to load times- and I can testify that that isn't an issue with this laptop. Everything loads in an instant- it will most certainly outperform any Windows laptop you've probably owned. Boot times are also excellent thanks to its fast SSD (which comes in configurations of 128, 256, 512GB or 1TB).
Overall, this is a great laptop I'd recommend in a heartbeat!

Almost 10 years and working well – Great bit of kit these macbooks with the metal. Using mine alomost 10 years and still runs well and the metal frame makes it strong and can be used of ages. Show details
Macc Book Pro With Touch Bar – Brilliant features. Stylish look, very light and quick to start up.No noise.Just love it. Bit difficult to operate if haven't used before but once knows everything, won't look for any other product Show details
transitioned from Windows to this one and i LOVE it – Okay so I have used Windows for a long time and just last year, I transitioned to Mac OS and I didn't had any problems, boot up takes 10 seconds even there are so many files. Touchbar is an additional feature! This recommended for professionals

Avoid Apple – Apple upgrade your computer constantly with no indication of what software they are going to lock you out of beyond if you happen to open that software. My computer has basically been obliterated and surprise, surprise, "I can buy replacement software in the Apple store". Never again will I buy Apple. If they can design computers they can inform you as to what damage is going to be done if you install their latest upgrades.
Poor service from Apple regarding my warranty claim – Firstly I have been reasonably happy with my Macbook Pro. My complaint is about the service received from Apple. I was on my second charger (they don't seem to last) when I noticed an acrid electronic smell. My second charger has died. That's OK it is only 18 months old purchased by me brand new from Apple Miranda store, and under consumer law is… Read more
entitled to be replaced. Due to Covid-19 there are no Apple stores open, I have to drive 30 minutes to Padstow to a third party service centre and drop it off. No problem totally reasonable considering the Covid-19 Pandemic, we all have to make adjustments, I get it. 1 week later please come pick it up, it is most certainly broken and warrantable, however we cannot replace it as it has no serial number as it is an accessory, we the third party repair centre have no authority to replace it. Obviously not happy with this outcome. So we drive over and pick up the damaged charger. 1 week later however I get a notice, after complaining about the process, saying you can claim against your original macbook. Please for the third time drive over to Padstow 30 minutes each way and drop off your laptop so we can grab the serial number and attempt to make a claim against the laptop. Then wait 1-2 weeks for the charger to come in and then you can drive 30 minutes each way for the 4th time to pick up your $119 charger. I tried to have the Apple representative see reason and asked that seeing as I have the original purchase receipt for the charger purchased 18 months ago from Apple store, Miranda and that I have presented the charger for assessment, which concluded the charger was faulty and also provided a photograph of my macbook serial number as well, could you not just send me a new charger. Nope not possible, we don't have stock at head office as it is a legacy product, and also there is a 2 week wait at your local apple store for an assessment, which you will need to undertake again, that is all we can do for you. I honestly felt like I was in a scene from Fawlty Towers. This is supposed to be a premium product with premium service. This has not been my experience.
Not good as my old MacBook – A little disappointed because the keyboard had problem and also the replacement of that caused other problem. I hope they will fix it because I was so happy with the old MacBook that lasts for 6 years! Show details

Love my Mcbook - very fast very reliable – I bought my mcbook last year for personal use. I started working from home from March this year. I have been using this laptop for more than 50 hours a week and it has performed so well. Highly recommended. Very reliable and fast. Only thing that concerns me is it occasionally automatically goes blank- but it has happened only 3 or 4 times in past 8 months. Show details

Looks beautiful and functions great as well – Pros - Quality build and aesthetically pleasing - Touch Bar is a nice addition - Ready to go outside of the box - Ability to run both Windows (using VM) and Mac Cons - Only 2 USB-C ports (one of which is required for charging) - Pretty expensive at almost $2,000 for only 128GB of SSD memory - No touch screen Overall the best laptop and will give you many years of productivity and quality performance. I would highly recommend Show details
The best laptop I've had – The best laptop I've had. The materials very durable and it is still fast after 5 years. It is still looks like brand new. Does everything I do for office work or studies. The only minus that coating on the screen started wearing out after 4 years, but apple replaced the screen for free. Show details
So smooth and integrated. Elegant – You are either PC or Mac. This was my transition machine and I will never go back. The smooth robust OS, beautiful build quality, compact size and huge performance reflect premium design and R&D. I have used several high end PC laptops and none come close. The integration of all apple products is a highlight. They are expensive but unlike PC are not redundant in 6 months. Show details

I love my macbook – This is my first MacBook, and my previous laptop was a had a 19" screen and was not a Mac. I love my Mac, as I have other Apple products and liked that I could sync all my products. I have a small business and use it extensively for my business. I like that it is just the right size, not heavy, and is slim line. I have not had any problems with my MacBook so far. Show details
Defective base – The base of the laptop would click at times. I took it to apple store castle towers and the guy said they could open it up in a special dust free environment. I was not happy with this resolution offer. So, I had the guy put the problem in writing and took it to JB HiFi for an exchange. I had to buy a terabyte so that they could temporarily load… Read more
the content into it. In hindsight, it would be better to buy it from apple store itself. The stress of having to go through it, it was not worth it.
Sreen poor – My daughters computer screen failed after 4 months. It was treated gently, clean and fastidiously looked after. Despite no visible damage to the screen itself or exterior case apple stated she caused the issue (damage to the screen). With an exam the following day I was forced to get it repaired. When I requested the screen I owned to be returned they refused. Poor service on a premium product Show details
Server-in-a-box – Can seamlessly run multiple Operating Systems using any virtualisation software like Parallels. The Touch Bar is quite handy and changes based on the active application. Battery life is good. Retina display and in-built speakers are top-notch. Overall, this is the best laptop I have used so far in terms of improving productivity. Show details
Excellent product – I’ve wanted a MacBook for a while now because of the build quality and the simplicity of the OS. I spend an average 6 hours a day using it for college and the battery still has a fair charge left. The screen looks great. Apple does a great job of integrating their products. Being able to unlock my laptop using my watch is great. It’s pricy, but I guess you’re also paying for the brand. Show details
Good dependable laptop for everyday use – Use it mainly for music editing, email and internet browsing. I bought it refurbished at the apple store and it does have a good battery life and speed. Been using it for two years now. Show details
Overheats but amazing – This laptop gets hot. I mean burning hot. But everything else is pure genius. This laptop is my daily driver and the laptop I'm using to write this review. Software and hardware side I've had no issues except that my butterfly keyboard sometimes gets stuck. Other than that it runs Mac OS which is amazing and everything is lightning fast, just the way it should be. Show details
So far, so good – Pretty happy overall as a long time macbook pro user. Heard some negative things about the keyboard, but it hasnt been an issue so far. Everything is running great, fast and powerful. I dont use the touch bar.. seems unnecessary. Bit of a novelty. Much thinner and lighter than my previous model. Show details
Love it so much! – I bought this laptop after much research and deliberation. It was expensive but works like a pro. My only issue is that the battery life isn't fantastic, it will last me the whole day but can get pretty low if I've been using it a lot (I know some people that have the one with no touch bar who say the battery lasts longer). I also sometimes doubt… Read more
how useful the touch bar is, I do use it but not as much as what I should! Overall though, I am very happy, this laptop goes wherever I go!!!
Powerful for the size – This is my second fully spec'ed 13inch top of the line MacBook Pro. I tried the 15 inch because it was higher spec, but I returned it because it was too heavy and large to lug around. Show details
Expensive repairs – When it works it's great but when you need repairs $$$$$$ so expensive . Much better off with most other computers with a good ssd drive. Not worth the money and since Steve jobs isn't around service is also gone. Unfortunately now it's a run around to get anything sorted . Screen from $800 to $1100. Once kids done at school will be happy never to see another apple product and we have 5 loads 3 iPhones MacBook pro..... Show details
Would not use any other brand of computer – This is the second Macbook I have owned, my first having lasted from 2012-2017 and only broke because I dropped it and cracked the screen. As a full time engineering student a reliable computer is a must, and I can safely say this is very reliable. It is fast, ergonomic, well designed and overall one of the best laptops available.
