New app is the worse app I have used – Arlo had a good app that worked well until they upgraded it a few days ago. WHY? I have not seen a worse app than what it is now. Hard to navigate. If you want a certain date, you have to scroll down to get to the date. That means for me, going through hundreds of recordings. The old app, the dates were at the top of the page and you were… Read more

able to click on the one you wanted. Just spoke to customer service hoping to revoke back to the old app, but no such luck. You will get used to it I was told. BAD choice Arlo.

A lot less than I expected – These cameras are ok. Definition is ok, night functions are ok, battery life is ok (although only if you have the camera placed in full shade on hot days), motion detection is a little unreliable… What isn’t ok is the subscription charges for premium features, and without paying that you most likely wont get what you want. The premium features are… Read more

basic features that come standard with other systems - why punish yourself? UPDATE - 6 months later and both cameras are turning themselves off regularly, despite heaps of battery being left. I can’t find any reason why they do this. The annual subscription has also gone from $120 to $150 (25%). I will not look at another Arlo product again.

Shocking Customer Service on Faulty Cameras – Bought the 2 Pro 4 cameras Feb told would not need to be charged for months and best on the market. I’ve had to charge them weekly reported problem to Arlo Feb and still they have not replaced the cameras. Took back to dealer and they asked for replacement and still they keep sending me case emails to update - extremely upsetting and… Read more

disappointing - 2 of the cameras will not charge at all. I’ve given them my phone no so maybe they will call me as hard to contact them as an overseas company - we have followed all the tutorials, nothing wrong with our internet provider and not very far from router - the product is faulty do the right thing either replace or refund

OK, too many glitches! – Price point acceptable for basic camera but it has WAY TOO MANY GLITCHES ACROSS VARIOUS THINGS. Test your patience, frustrating and no resolution except luck, and uses up a lot of your time to try and resolve. Plus you have to pay for subscription to view motion detection etc. battery lost up to a week and a half or two before it needs recharging. Show details

Price of crap! – I have another camera which stores video that you can look back on. Not even half the price of this Arlo crap which doesn't record unless you pay for a subscription each month. I changed phones and now it doesn't reconise the login. I eventually set up a re log in and hit the 'trust this device' did nothing!! I tapped on the button again and as I… Read more

tapped it went Don't trust. As an added bonus if you read the blurb it says battery life 6 months. Nonsense, three months tops. I received this thing at Christmas last year around 6 months ago I've recharged it three times already. Highly recommended that you look elsewhere for a security camera. My rubbish bin is the only winner here.

Good quality cameras but very slow response time – I purchased the Arlo Ultra 2 security 3 camera kit with smarthub, doorbell and door chime. The camera picture quality is great. But the response time for answering the doorbell and accessing the recordings is very slow. They claim the battery lasts up to six months, that’s not my experience, 2-3 months at best. In addition you have to pay for… Read more

cloud recording of around $20 per month. If you don’t pay the monthly fee expect very long delays to access your local recordings and your visitors will be gone before you answer the doorbell.

Useless – Even on the lowest sensitivity setting it records insects flying in front of it. Records an inanimate object in my yard repeatedly as a person. After two days the solar panel stopped charging the camera. Expensive membership per camera. Biggest piece of junk. The only thing going for the Arlo system is its easy to install and connect. Show details

Do NOT buy Arlo – Doorbell stopped working for no reason. Hours of time spent on phone, back and forth messages with “support”, and still have never received a replacement. Do NOT buy this product. The other camera I have quickly runs out of battery so it’s just a hassle.

Terrible Company, Terrible Cameras – I purchased 5 x Arlo Ultra 4K cameras and it was the worst purchase I have ever made. Cons: 1.) Cameras are useless without a $15 dollar a month money grab subscription 2.) Cameras constantly go offline 3.) Cameras will turn on light for no reason and never go off and cause battery to go flat. 4.) Cameras lose connectivity and have to manually… Read more

remove them and re-add them. 5.) Optionally attached solar panel never works 6.) Cameras are extremely expensive 7.) Camera notifications only work with the subscription and even then it’s random if you receive in time.

Pro: 1.) There is only one go thing about this camera, when it works which is rare, the video quality is good.

Also note I have an exceptionally home network with excellent coverages and very very fast internet. So this would actually improve these cameras, but still doesn’t seem to help.

Companies like these should be banned from selling these products and all retailers should stop stocking them.

Avoid them at all costs and purchase any other brand before these.

Arlo Camera subscription grab – After buying these cameras I found out that they stop recording after a while as you need to subscribe to a monthly plan through Arlo. Didn't tell us that when we purchased them. They are now worthless as $10 per month is a money grab after paying top dollar for the system. Better off buying another brand with the con of a subscription Show details

If you want continuous recording or manual recording without a subscription avoid this company – The cameras worked well although did encounter a few bugs which required resetting initially in the first few months. Once the subscription runs out you can't manually record or continuous record even with your own SD card storage enabled in the base station. If you thought you were paying over $1000 for a set of cameras that you could use however… Read more

you wanted, just avoid this brand as they require your monthly payment just to have the basic features working. If they had the non subscription running out of the box instead of the 3 months promotion, I would've returned the entire order the next day. Terrible. Don't waste your money – Arlo has been nothing but a pain for us since purchase. You pay hundreds of dollars for the product, THEN an annual subscription fee to have full use of the product. The battery life is poor - we even went and spent money on an Arlo solar panel and often at times it chooses not to work. When I am away from home, the app also often has issues with connectivity. Live stream or recorded videos in library won't load. Not worth it's money. Show details

Literally yo – Ok. Does this sound familar. You will have an issue with your Arlo cameras. Everyone does. They are crap. So, there are no way you can just email support. another automatic bot) After that you'll have to wait up for an hour to speak to a third world country bot (that has limited language and will use generic scripts like there is no tomorrow). Now here is the most frustrating thing - because you can't just email a ticket, you are forced to go through these steps ( i can't help but feel they do this to hope that you just give up) - if they answer and you happen to be away from your phone despite you waited 60 minutes, they will disconnect your message. Yep - apparently people from a third world country's time is worth more than our time. Not only that - ARLO force you to pay for THUMB nails in previews... these cameras are useless unless you pay for their subscription. Do yourself a favour and just go and buy a proper camera or a google nest camera. So much better than arlo.

It’s Rubbish will never recommend to anyone! – I bought four plus the floodligh pro 3 cameras. All work well for the first 90 days when they give you the free subscription. Awful product, stay away – Purchased three of these when they were new three years ago. Wish I hadn't. The Arlo Pro 2s...great! No issues. The Ultras. Awful. Connection is glacial. pay for it. Local is *supposed* to work, but just doesn't. No incentive from Arlo to fix it either because why would they when they can just ask you to pay for the same thing. Friend of my has the Eufy system, seems much better. Just stay away from Arlo, better off just burning your money. Shame too as the technical details are actually pretty good - the image is fantastic, the build quality is very high. Shame they just. Don't. Work. And Arlo has done nothing in three years to suggest they care. At all. Arlo forum is chock full of people like me who hate them. Don't be like me. Don't buy Arlo.

Don't Bother, poor product, too many issues – Purchased two wireless cameras, two solar panels and a base station. Had issues from the start as one of the solar panels was faulty. would enable us to view footage from alerts on a PC. It does not. When subcription ended, the only way you can view is from ONE smart phone and you have to be at home. Pretty pointless as my Wife also needs access, but it only shows on one device. Even so, the local storage on the APP is hopeless, it drops out and we have to re start the system to gain access.

Seems like Arlo just wants to make money from subscriptions, because the products seems very buggy and pointless without the subscription, In this economic climate, we don't want additional monthly charges on anything, so do not want more expenses.

This lot is going back to the store as its got too many faults, despite the need for a subscription. Just have to bite the bullet and pay for a more professional system through a proper security cam business locally.

Save yourself a headache and a waste of your time. Seek a quality system that uses a hardrive in your home, one you can view freely on PC, and all devices no matter where you are. Over time you will end up saving as you are not hit with ongoing subscription costs.

Hope this helps in making a decision.

STAY AWAY – I cannot in good conscience recommend this camera or any of Arlo products. People buy Ultra cameras because it's 4K capable. In theory, if you don't have any subscription, you should be able to… Read more

record and steam in 4K but I haven't tried that.

Also their support is awful. Good luck if your camera develops some issues and need a replacement. Arlo will try their best to avoid acknowledging your issues. One of my cameras is having audio issues and I sent them two video files so that they can compare the sound of each file. Anyone can easily hear the difference, yet their support team insists that they fail to notice any, and ask for more videos and when I send them more videos, they say they haven't received them and ask me to send again. They hope customers will give up eventually. Luckily, I purchased this camera from officeworks, so it's going back to the store.

A trap for new players with useless support and hidden subscription – To get the useful features there is a subscription required. A trap for new players. The mobile interface is largely user unfriendly. I gave up trying to… Read more

schedule cameras, the interface is largely useless on an iPad. The night vision of the camera picks up the eve and wall well, but gives a dim view of people at night - the opposite of what is needed. The cameras work well in the day, expect that one keeps sending notifications for vehicles outside the activity zone. Why set a zone if not to exclude activity outside of the zone? The other cameras do not see a road.

The wall mounts are not particularly sturdy and need a better design. The cameras seem okay, but based on other reviews here, I think at least one of my batteries is starting to fail.

Arlo needs to spend some money getting the user interface right, so employ a hmi expert, understand the users interactions and build a user friendly app. Not hard, sack the current clowns.

Subscription unsustainable! Do not purchase – Arlo security cameras is a Netgear product range. Netgear (Arlo) charge hefty for the subscription - Per camera I might add! Their newer Arlo cameras like the ones I recently purchased… Read more

(Ultra), have storage that would link to your phone or computer in the early days, but firmware upgrades have changed this and now you have to buy a subscription for EACH camera to view your recordings. THIS MAKES ARLO CAMERAS TOTALLY USELESS!

You can no longer record from your phone or computer either. When the camera picks something up, you get is a notification to alert you that something is happening. If you miss the alert - oh well.... Unless you sign up to their HEFTY subscriptions you are none the wiser about what happening. This is why ARLO CAMERAS ARE USELESS!

Don't waste you money on a product that does not work as it should. Thousands of dollars spent already, and now I have nothing to show for it. ARLO cameras are very low value, and they are not value for money. I do not recommend this product is any way, shape or form.

spent hours researching the best wireless cameras and settled on the Arlo as all the reviews sounded good and it was packed full of features. It was easy to set up except I could never get one of the cameras to live stream. it came with 12 months of Arlo subscription which was good as it allowed you to view the incidents as notification straight away when it popped up. although it was delayed in real time. After about a month the second camera stopped allowing me to play incidences and the camera then stopped allowing live stream and became basically useless. I contacted Arlo on their live chat multiple times the chat would drop out and reconnect me to someone else who would try and help. there advice was always the same to disconnect and then reconnect the cameras. this never worked and the trouble I had to go through put me off trying any further. I now have a system that only has one of the three cameras working and the battery only lasts 3 days before having to be swapped. the other two cameras are basically used as charging stations for the remaining working camera.
