Asko D3120 Questions & Answers
VerifiedHello
I have a 14 year old ASKO D3120. Has worked beautifully all this time. Just recently it has water sitting in the drain area and it doesn't seem to have had any heating, so not completely dry at the end of the cycle. The draws and cutlery basket have been slowing breaking down over the last 2 years. Assuming the heat element has died?? Is worth repairing??? I would happily buy another ASKO. Look forward to hearing from you.
You would have to be asking the wrong person. My ASKO was a total piece of faeces right from the moment it was plugged in. It leaked endlessly damaging my brand new kitchen cupboards, and when I contacted ASKO to repair the fault, was told by the serviceman on 3 occasions "sorry, it is too hard".
I would recommend an ASKO to machine to everyone you dont like, or even better, to all those that you hate.
The machine I was very very sadly talked into purchasing was A TOTAL PIECE OF FAECES THAT WOULD COME OUT OF THE REAR END OF A DEAD ANIMAL (sorry, no swearing allowed)
Tan D Obviously you are going to get some stupid silly replies that are going to tell you nothing useful like iangreening but Tan, what you are experiencing is similar to my experience. And to be honest I don't feel dudded. I have just had to replace my Asko D3120 because it started to leak water to the point where it was tripping the water sensor.
Having had the machine for 16 years in total and with a large family here for three years of that time where the machine was used every day Tan, I feel I got my moneys worth out of the machine. In that 16 years I never had to call on Asko service so I can't make a comment on the quality of that aspect of the company.
Tan I would consider if you have got 14 years out of the machine you have had good service! Your water heater problem may be able to be fixed simply but at this age things are going to continue to break down and if I were you I would consider replacing the machine.
I have replaced mine with a Blanco from Bunnings at a special price of $399. It may not be the best machine on the market although it is doing a good job quietly and efficiently so far.
Tan, I loved my Asko, I have had dishwashers since 1973 and it was the best I had ever had, but I understand that nothing lasts forever and if I were you, I think I would be looking for a replacement rather than keeping it going!
But get a quote on replacing the heater element, if it is cheap enough....I mean like a stove element $45-$50 it may be worth replacing, but seriously mate, at 14 years you are on borrowed time with it!
All the best Tan.
Cheers......Rob
I have an Asko d3120 dishwasher that I use about every 3-4 months, that's about 4 times a year. I loved how quiet the machine was. That's why I bought it. About 6 mobths ago I noticed the machine doesn't work anymore. It starts a cycle and runs about 1 minute then shuts itself down. Called Asko help line to which they referred me to a repair company. Which informed me that this has been an ongoing problem with this model. They also informed me that even if I ordered the part it's not guaranteed. How can I have confidence in a product and company that has no warranty in Canada...? How can you help me..?
Buy another dishwasher... but one without ASKO written on the front.
I have had nothing but trouble with mine and they would not repair it.... "too hard" to quote the repairman, even though it WAS under warranty.
Can u tell me if the asko d3120 dishwasher uses mains hot water or heats its own. We've recently moved into a new house and can't tell what's plumbed into what? Thanks
Hi, it heats its own water... when working that is.
Hi Robyn, the Asko 3120 uses a cold supply! It does not come equipped with a hot water connection and you can adjust the heat of the wash by using the temperature settings....Cheers....Rob
Hi Robyn,
It has a heating element internal that heats the water according to the type of cycle your have selected.

I am looking at this D3120 for holiday rental Apt. It must be reliable for guests, easy controls to work out and above all have a short cycle. Does it have all of this plus heating element ? Most times it will be used by couples however in holiday periods family groups mainy rent whole Apt.
Hi Chris, not sure if it's the best model for short cycles or not - haven't been in the market for a DW for a while now. The Asko has been totally reliable, simple to use and no plastic bits - yes it has a heating element. CHeers
