Dreadful – An expensive decision for a poorly performing appliance. The touch screen has been replaced already - a costly experience. The cleaning is very underwhelming and I am often needing to hand wash after unloading. I am just about to refurbish my whole kitchen and laundry and will not even consider this brand for anything Show details

ASKO DISHWASHER START BUTTON WONT START – We purchased this dishwasher a few years ago, thinking it was a good brand. However, it has always given trouble with the "start" button. They replaced the board once, but it didn't help. Sometimes it will start and other times not. I am sick of having to pull out loads of dishes etc and wash them by hand. I see others have had the same… Read more

Disappointing – I purchased this dishwasher five years ago and of course it’s just out of extended warranty Had an F12 error And after spending over $200 in a plumber and electrician coming to check it out I decided to replace it with an Ariston that I’ve had before and never had any problems. I do not recommend this brand as this is the second Asko I’ve had… Read more

Five star Asko service – We chose an Asko dishwasher because we have had trouble-free years with our Asko washing machine - and the dishwasher has performed perfectly since it was installed in our newly-built house in late 2013. But two days ago without warning it refused to drain, and blinked the F11 drainage fault. Carefully following the manual's troubleshooting guide… Read more

failed to identify any blockage, so we phoned Asko's service department. We were pleasantly surprised, first to get through quickly, and then to be advised that a technician could come the following day. He arrived promptly yesterday morning, and had the problem solved even before coming into the kitchen. The spigot on the sink's waste pipe, where the dishwasher hose attaches, had not been completely drilled out when the dishwasher was installed. An almost transparent fish scale had lodged in the spigot, sealing off most of the remaining outlet - so my husband is forgiven for not spotting it. Having re-checked the dishwasher, the technician used the remaining few minutes of our allocated 15 minutes' call out, to check our Asko washing machine. We were VERY impressed with his knowledge and experience, and very pleased with Asko's five-star service.

Save your money – Does not clean your dishes any better than a dishwasher half the price. Maintenance is costly. There shouldn't be maintenance issues on a 2 YO appliance that gets used on average once a week. information supplied with the dishwasher is not adequate, and asking Asko is a time wasting exercise as they are not forthcoming with any info. June 22nd 2018 Update: More problems

3 years down the track I have had enough of the problems with this dishwasher and Asko service. Unit exhibits F11 (previous problem F12). I have dismantled said culprit and determined that F11 is misleading. There is no blockages in the drain system, I have removed and tested the drain pump and it works OK. The control board is the main suspect, but talking to Asko is no help. All they want to do is send a techo to tell me what I already know, and at a cost of $192 for an hour of their time. Add to this the cost of a control board of up to $400 and a further call out fee to fit it when it arrives, and we are looking at upwards of $600 for a 3 YO dishwasher that has already had $500 spent on repairs. Very expensive piece of kit that doesn't wash dishes any better than an El Cheapo brand.

They also trade on the fact that these units are made in Sweden...a lie, they are made in Slovenia, and have been for the past 8+ years.

Happy with our choice – Back in March 2015 it was time to replace our 14 year old Whirlpool dishwasher. Not knowing what brand to purchase we decided to hit the shops & see what the sales reps recommended. Our first stop was The Good Guys Robina & we were immediately guided to the Asko machines. D5434SS. However as this was our first stop we continued on our journey to see what else was available in the market. After visiting 3 other stores we had found nothing that we liked better than the Asko D5434SS so decided to come home, get on the net & do some further research.

After reading the negative reviews below we wondered whether we should reconsider our decision. However, the following day we returned to the Good Guys to raise our concerns with the sales manager. We were reassured that from the tens of thousands of units that are sold each year, to only have a handful of negative reviews should still be considered an excellent strike rate. With anything electronic there will always be the possibility of something going wrong.

After receiving all the right answers to our concerns , we decided to proceed with purchasing the D5434SS as it was still the only machine from all the various brands that ticked all of our boxes. The Good Guys had stock in store so we were able to load it in the car, take it home & self install it immediately. After taking time reading the instruction manual to program the settings to our preferences we were both excited & apprehensive to do the first wash cycle.

It has now been 2 months & we are delighted with our purchase. It has not missed a beat, we can fit so much more into it than we could in our old dishwasher & everything comes out so clean and dry (this was not the case with our old dishwasher ).

Thank you Asko.

Great machine and very quiet – Cleans dishes well even when full. Control panel is a bit difficult to use, but I'm sure we'll get the hang of it over time. Less than 6 years old and broken down already! – We purchased an Asko Stainless Steel Dishwasher Model D5434SS that cost $1631 so expected this very expensive Swedish made dishwasher to last a lot longer than it has. pleased with the Asko dishwasher, it was very quiet and seemed to be reliable until it wasn't! The dishwasher, without any warning, started to make a terrible grinding noise then blew a bit of smoke then Kapoot! The dishwasher repairman told us that Asko and Miele dishwashers are not worth the expensive cost to repair. Apparently, the machine flooded causing a burn-out of the electrical motherboard which would have cost us yet another $500 or more to repair! We feel ripped off.

Awful – I loathe this dishwasher. Every wash I have to remove the arms and clean them as they are always blocked with food even when I clean the dishes. Great machine let down by a very poorly designed touch (in-!) sensitive control panel – Cleans dishes well. This machine I think is one of the best engineered machines out there. BUT, and it's a big but, the ridiculously unreliable touch button control is it's Achilles heal. It just doesn't work properly. Even when it was now ours didn't work reliably. Such a pity, because otherwise, it's a great machine. Bring back a simple mechanical controller, please !!!  Show reply

Excellent dishwasher and good service – Overall I'm very happy with this dishwasher. months ago. It would stop mid cycle and reset. Initially it was a bit difficult to recognise that this was happening as it occurred intermittently. I worked out a good way to know it the display should read "end" when the cycle is finished.

I contacted the asko agent in NZ about the problem and they arranged for a new control board to be fitted. This solved the issue and the dishwasher is now performing perfectly again.

I'm very impressed with the customer service from the NZ asko agent and prompt repair. Good to experience a company that stands by their products when there is an issue.

The Dishes Are Always Clean – This is a neat looking machine. It is solidly built and the racks are well spaced and easy to load. There are several options for stacking dishes and cutlery. The dishes ALWAYS come out sparkling clean and dry. I would happily give it 5 stars except that sometimes it is difficult to start - the touch screen doesn't always register the touch. Apart from that it is a great dishwasher.  Show reply

Well performed-No issues and can connect to hot water outlet – Quiet and reliable after five years heavy service. It is connected to hot water outlet only so I believe this is major factor in performance. Very over priced and poor quality – I am so disappointed with this machine. In 2 years I've had to call out a repair person several times.
