Asko Oh No – Stopped working 3 weeks after we got it. No local agent so 220klm round trip to drop it off and another to pick it up. Worked for another 2 weeks and stopped. Got NSW consumer affairs involved and they sent a technician out for free, Does not wash any better than my old dishlex, and would often not fill properly or error codes would go off So… Read more
now 6-year-old. Stopped again. Took it to the local agent cost $88 for him to look at it. Needs a new motherboard/ Computer board at $700+
Cheaper to buy a new dishwasher
Asko is just overpriced rubbish stay away
Ordinary – Been using the dishwasher on average once a week for 4 years. Was not getting great wash results so started rinsing dishes very well before loading dishwasher and saw better results. After 4 years it broke down with an f10 and on second service visit found a pin hole in base of unit causing the f10 error. I was surprised at how thin the stainless… Read more
steel tub is and can understand how it may puncture easily. Not sure how hole resulted but we do have cutlery draw sitting over that area but some distance between basket base and tub so hard to understand. Our previous asko lasted 15 years. We don’t believe we will buy another asko.
Soo true....frustrated beyond belief – Worst dishwasher , worst appliance I’ve had ever. The staff at the good guys where I purchased from couldn’t,t Recommend it highly enough.....probably received a commission from Asko. Top shelf terrible, glasses and mugs covered in grit, arms continually blocked, inside door covered in grime and food after completition of wash. DONOT UNDER… Read more
ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY A ASKO DISHWASHER..... OH YEAH. I paid to have it installed, it stopped working after 8 days, waited for a repairman from Asko who tried to fix it. I suggested that I did not want a repaired dishwasher after 8 days I would like a replacement. His response was “we are not in the business to be giving away new dishwashers”. GIVING AWAY? Couldn’t repair it anyway motor blown, got a replacement and paid another installation fee charged by the good GUYS. PLEASE HEED MY WARNING.
Awful – I loathe this dishwasher. Every wash I have to remove the arms and clean them as they are always blocked with food even when I clean the dishes. I can’t unddrstsnd how the food gets into the spray arms but happens constantly. One piece of rice is all it takes to block the spray holes. Glasses are filthy and the touch sensor button was always temperamental . It always defaulted to the delayed timer. I would never buy asko again Show details
Dishes always dirty – We have had this dishwasher for just over 3 years I think. It is very high maintenance and requires the filters and arms to be constantly cleaned and cleared, this was pretty much from when we first bought it. Even when we prewash the dishes. We have changed brands of tablets, this doesn't help, we use rinse aid. It will be fine for a while after… Read more
cleaning but at the moment even with cleaning the filters and arms between washes we still have dirty glasses and plates. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you
Overpriced Junk – Second Asko in a row that has lastest less than 5 years. Previous machine which was way cheaper lasted 2 and this one 4. Before that I had a budget machine which lasted 9 years. Worst part is their customer service SUCKS. Spent hours just trying to talk to someone. Was promised several calls back and all this crap with no luck. Don't waste your time with these clowns. I bought a Miele and am going to try that out. Show details
Great machine and very quiet – Cleans dishes well even when full. Control panel is a bit difficult to use, but I'm sure we'll get the hang of it over time. Stacks really well compared to other common brands that I've used in the past. Bought second hand at a very good price. Looks very smart. Show details
Save your money – Does not clean your dishes any better than a dishwasher half the price. Maintenance is costly. There shouldn't be maintenance issues on a 2 YO appliance that gets used on average once a week. information supplied with the dishwasher is not adequate, and asking Asko is a time wasting exercise as they are not forthcoming with any info. On the… Read more
positive side, the dishwasher is very quiet.
June 22nd 2018 Update: More problems
3 years down the track I have had enough of the problems with this dishwasher and Asko service. Unit exhibits F11 (previous problem F12). I have dismantled said culprit and determined that F11 is misleading. There is no blockages in the drain system, I have removed and tested the drain pump and it works OK. The control board is the main suspect, but talking to Asko is no help. All they want to do is send a techo to tell me what I already know, and at a cost of $192 for an hour of their time. Add to this the cost of a control board of up to $400 and a further call out fee to fit it when it arrives, and we are looking at upwards of $600 for a 3 YO dishwasher that has already had $500 spent on repairs. Very expensive piece of kit that doesn't wash dishes any better than an El Cheapo brand.
They also trade on the fact that these units are made in Sweden...a lie, they are made in Slovenia, and have been for the past 8+ years.
Horrible product, horrible service – Apart from the problems we had with this dishwasher, Askos follow up service is appalling. 3 services to the first dishwasher and a replacement, we finally asked for a refund. We returned our dishwasher in October and are still waiting for a refund. We are lodging a complaint with VCAT
Well performed-No issues and can connect to hot water outlet – Quiet and reliable after five years heavy service. It is connected to hot water outlet only so I believe this is major factor in performance. Would recommend fitting water hammer arrestor at inlet end as solenoid action is hard on the pipes--This applies to all dishwashers and washing machines. The drying programme does a good job and there is a… Read more · 2
good range of washing options. If you dont use it every day it is a good idea to do a rinse and hold mode every few days so that alkaline residues wont sit in pump and eat away at plastic components.
Not worth it's expensive price – Very disappointed that for such an expensive dishwasher we have had to call for a service twice in 3 years. Last service call cost me $165 even though the Asko service person on the phone said it would be covered under warranty. Would not recommend this brand to anyone.
Lasted 3 months – Bought it brand new March 2015. Lasted three months and now F12 error twice. First service was prompt and a week later same problem again. Asko' service guy never turn up n giving the excuses of people called in sick, reschedule again and they rang.. Sorry our service guy had a heart attack this time..??

So far so good – We have had the Asko dishwasher about 18 months. Purchased through the Good Guys at Bayswater .So far it has given us good service . It is easy to use , quiet and time delay feature is bonus .Movable cutlery tray is good , however sharp items do tend to poke thru the bottom . Show 2 replies
Find out how Asko D5434WH compares to other Freestanding Dishwashers
Know better, choose better.
Better than expected, I'm happy – Wash and drying good. Cycle times good. Beeps when finished. Easy to install. Especially like the high height of bottom tray handle, saves my back. Special pot was corner good. Being able to move the cutlery basket is good and allows room for larger items. Top tray is very deep and allows heaps of items. Was not my first choice after… Read more · 1
conducting research before purchase, but looking at the different models in store this had best features for me.
Two months in and am very happy.
So far so good – Installed our new washer yesterday.Perhaps were are basking in the glow of having a washer again after 6 months without one. It has not had time to clog with junk quite yet so stay posted. I was worried about the noise as they don't come with top or sides standard and we thought we would wait to see if it was an issue. It is much quiter that the… Read more
Omega we had before. There was some drama with the length of water inlet hose provided as it was way too short to reach where we needed it to.
Update-Still going strong May 2013. Cleans as well as the day it was installed. Is a bit a bit loud as it I never got around to buying sides or top as it is under bench. Also never bought the anti-tip brackets but have a workaround that makes it less of an adventure to open it :) Dishes are clean and dry. Reasonably quite. Was on sale. Top and sides extra making it an expensive unit. Water inlet hose quite short. Need to buy anti tip brackets which are not included and atm we are having to be very careful when opeining it.
