Purchase Feb 2021. Still going great 2026. Great wash every time, unless the kids don't stack it properly! Items dry at end of each wash. No complaints. Very happy. Show details
Worked well for 2 years and 4 months cost was $1,760. Repairer called was main power control board cost initially $300 then further $700 to repair. 6 months later same error code. Will not fix again, do yourself a favour don’t buy this brand. When I spoke to customer service at 28 months they told me there wasn’t anything they could do as the… Read more
warranty was only 24 months. I expressed my displeasure as I did expect a dishwasher that cost $1,760 to last more than 2 years 4 months.
Bought this dishwasher in 2022. Worked okay like any other dishwasher. 3 years in, a sensor must have broke and the dishwasher was not working at all. Called ASKO and they said they don’t have any technicians in my area (outskirts of Sydney, Gosford, Australia, a 5 million people metropolitan), but only 2 ‘certified’ partners. First one didn’t… Read more
want to touch the machine, the second one said he didn’t know the brand well and that the error code and symptoms didn’t mean anything to him, but he could come and ‘have a look’ in about a week’s time. After calculating the potential cost of at least two call-outs and the unspecified and potentially long time to get the machine fixed, we decided to buy a brand new Westinghouse dishwasher for half the price, and had them take and throw away a perfectly fine dishwasher, other then a most probably less than 30 dollar part. In summary. There is always a chance that something breaks, but if ASKO charges premium for their products, they even more so should have a reliable service network to support customers. Customers are still customers, long after they’ve paid for your product. I personally will stay way from ASKO products in the future.
Rust on from panel after 26 months – This is our 2nd ASKO dishwasher in 4 years- after multiple issues with our first. We went back to them because we still liked the product and were told by multiple people how unusual it was for us to have any issues. This dishwasher though: - great wash, in all modes! Even not scraping all the food off. - customer support is extremely disappointing - rust starting to form on the front black panel after 26 months of purchasing . Show details
Poor appliance, poor service – I inherited this dishwasher when moving into a new house earlier this year. I was not impressed by its performance. The cutlery tray seemed very weak and then it started to fall off on one side. I realised that a small plastic piece that secured the arm had fallen off so I rang Asko to ask them to send a new one. It was difficult to get hold of… Read more
anyone to speak to or get a response to emails. I kept getting badly worded short replies asking about warranty when I had told them it was already out of warranty and all I wanted was a technician to come out. Then there was a rattling sound so we stopped using the dishwasher until a technician finally came. He found the plastic piece in the pump and fixed the cutlery tray. 3 months later the same thing has happened. We followed the instructions in the book to clear the pump but to no avail. Once again we can’t use the dishwasher. I rang the service department and a fairly unsympathetic staff member said that I would have to pay for another call out fee etc for someone to come and fix it. And if they fix it the same problem is bound to happen again. I’m so unimpressed with the Asko anyway that I have decided to purchase a new Bosch, which is what I had at my previous house and all my Bosch appliances were faultless. I cannot recommend Asko to anyone and will certainly never purchase another Asko product.
ASKO DISHWASHER NOT SO GOOD – I bought this dishwasher 2-3years ago. We were sold on it being a quality, longer lasting dishwasher, so we paid more than we had anticipated. I am very disappointed in this dishwasher. I have had three call outs to address the problem of poor washing and it has never been fixed properly. It has never cleaned the dishes very well. Asko referred me to thirdparty service company which provided faulty parts – The dishwasher was purchased 3-years ago. Buttons not working last week so I called Asko and they referred me to call A1 Domestic Appliances as the 2-year warranty period was past. Check was performed today (7th Feb 2024) and it was reckoned that the problem was due to faulty display board. I agreed to replace the board. Unfortunately after… Read more
replacement, I was told that the original new display board is also faulty. Being left with a broken part of old display board and nothing fixed, I was still being charged $210. I really doubt the quality of ASKO products or if this is a way for ASKO to scam customers with third-party help.
Disappointing – I Paid $1878 for this dishwasher. 2 & a half years later the heating element failed. ASKO quote $480-500 dollars for repairs. Its out of the 2 year warranty. If I knew that I was paying for a dishwasher for 2.5 years I would of bought a cheap one! Show details

After just 3 years, two major problems in one month! – Start button on top would not work. Reported to Asko and tech turned up with new part under his arm. Said it was a well-known problem. Replacement unit was better, he said. Out of company warranty (2 years) and $400 bill, minor discount on the part. Have sought bigger discount on basis of Australian consumer law but refused by company reps who… Read more
implied they have no responsibility beyond company warranty. Bad enough, but 3 weeks later the same problem has occurred. Start button won't work. Waiting for next visit. Must be warranty on the previous repair, one hopes. P.S. A few days later—Repairman agreed it was a problem but did a reset (which I had tried unsuccessfully) and suddenly it started. Suggested keep it under review in case of a developing problem. No charge, and seems to be working OK.

Regretting purchase after three weeks – I bought this dishwasher to replace my 15 year old F & P Dishdrawers. Eco cycle leaves dishes dirty, even after pre-rinsing and using Finish Powerball Ultimate Pro tablets. Dishes still very wet following an extra dry cycle. I thought I was buying a quality product in Asko. Underwhelmed. Show details

Stopped working after less than 6 months – After >10 years with a our previous ASKO dishwasher, we replaced it with a new DB16531B installed in September 2022 when we upgraded our kitchen. It died in March 2023 and we have been without a dishwasher ever since. The part that is needed has yet to arrive. I wish I had read reviews but I trusted my previous experience and ASKO's reputation.… Read more
If I could give it less that 1 star I would. Ideally, I would like the whole unit to be replaced with another brand.
Doesn't dry stuff and takes forever – I'm so disappointed with this machine. Even in the extra long, extra dry mode, my dishes still come out wet. It is supposed to dry the dishes - it is advertised as having a fan which does that for you. However, I need to run the cycle, then manually open the door and wait a few hours for the hot dishes to airdry. Since a normal wash takes 3 hours,… Read more
after dinner we are usually in bed before it is finished and then by morning the dishes are cold and have to be dried with a cloth!... Even a fast wash takes almost a full 2 hours. Even though it takes forever, it doesn't do any better job of washing the dishes than my previous cheapo LG dishwasher. I still need to pre-rinse. I was promised by the sales person that this machine would dry my dishes. That was one of my essential buying criteria. I was also looking at a Miele which pops the door open when done by itself. They told me that this Asko would do just as good a job and as it was a bit cheaper (but still very expensive), I went with the Asko. If I put a load on before I go away for a 3 day weekend, I come back to a mouldy stinky dishwasher and have to wash the lot again.
I logged a call with Asko on 14th November 2022, received an automated message and got nothing back. After a series of 12 emails between then and 19th January 2023, they finally decided "there is nothing essentially wrong with the dishwasher" and I'm stuck with it as is. I had to chase them at every step to get a reply. I've spent a lot of money on this dishwasher and it is no better than a unit of half the price. It takes forever even on a "fast" wash and the dishes come out wet, needing to be hand dried. They are hopeless to deal with and will not stand behind their promises. I will be pursuing a refund under Australian Consumer Law because it does not do what was promised. I offered them a chance to make this right before posting this review and they decided not to.
GREAT DISHWASHER FOR PRICE – I have had no problems with this dishwasher at all. I only had a problem when a metal piece from my cutlery went through the hose and blocked it. All in all, very quiet and everything comes out spotless. I use the 1.30 hrs setting as the heavy load setting takes a lot longer. Show details
They take your money but provide no service – Dishwasher was delivered on time as agreed but missing essential parts. I was not told about that until the existing dishwasher had been removed. Asko cannot tell me when the replacement parts will arrive and when they do it is my problem to arrange another installation. Right now I do not even have the old dishwasher. Show details
Does a great job, but beware if it breaks down – Purchased this Asko Dishwsher because it looked a lot more robust and would last longer than the others we were looking at. It works very well and is very quiet. Purchased in March 2021 but only installed in October 2021 due to kitchen renovations being delayed. Worked until end of January 2022 and then we started to get an error code. Rang Asko… Read more
Customer Service (spent 30 minutes waiting until I was able to speak to someone) logged the error and I was told that the local service technician would respond. Didn't hear from the local service technician (who is employed by the same place we bought the dishwasher through) so phoned them and was told they wouldn't be able to come out for several weeks. We ended up taking the dishwasher to them. They found nothing wrong so we brought it home. It worked one cycle and then the same error came up again. (Now end of Ferbuary 2022) Again I phoned Asko Customer Service (spent another 30 minutes on hold till I actually spoke to someone), they lodged another service. Again we had to call the local service people and was told it was nothing to do with the machine. We decided to hook up another water supply to double check it wasn't that..it wasn't. Finally convinced the local service guy (the original service guys work partner) to come out and physically look at the machine in our house. This service guys went through the machine thoroughly checking everything. Finally they told us it was an electrical fault in the machine (mother board) and was told they would order a new one but it would take awhile - 3 weeks. End of March 2022. Rang the local technician to find out what was happening with the part that was ordered. They couldn't tell us so we rang Asko Customer Service again (spent another 40 or so minutes on hold till I actually spoke to someone), they told us that there is no stock of this part in Australia and there wont be any in the near future, we asked if we could get a brand new replacement dishwasher and was told by Asko Customer Service that the Manager was away for a week and they would call us when they return. Didn't happen Mid April 2022. Rang Asko Customer Service (another 30 plus minutes on hold) asked what was happening and when we could a new dishwasher, was told again someone would get back to us. Was sent a text message several days later saying they tried to phone (no missed calls on our phones) and that it would take 3 plus weeks for the credit team to do anything. It is now 3 weeks later and we have heard nothing! Have been without a dishwasher for over 3 months and no reassurance that anything is going to happen, whether we are getting a replacement dishwasher or not.
So far, so good-Impressed – Reading some of the bad reviews here, I have been a little worried about purchasing this ASKO dishwasher to replace our ten-year old Miele. So far, however, I am really impressed with the quality of performance, capacity and versatility. It outstrips our old Miele by far in terms of the wash performance—dishes come out clean and dry. It also is… Read more
very cleverly designed inside and can take many more dishes in a single load. I am mystified by some of the negative comments about choosing a wash cycle as it’s really simple to simply scroll through the options and pick the one you want. Then just close the door and it starts. It’s very easy. The ECO cycle is long but you can pick a very short cycle in timed wash settings if needed. That cleans a lightly soiled load well. So far, I am really glad we got this dishwasher over another Miele as the latest Miele machines are very similar to our old one which, to be honest, for the price wasn’t performing nearly as well as this one. Ours was installed by an ASKO technician, and we got the extended warranty, just in case some of the faults noted by others crop up. Hopefully they won’t. Update one year later: This dishwasher continues to meet our expectations. The only issue we’ve had is some confusion about the red light not going on during a timed wash as a warning not to open it during the hot water cleaning cycle, but we are still very happy with its cleaning & drying performance, flexibility and large capacity. Would definitely recommend this dishwasher.
Absolute Rubbish - Will Never Buy One of These Again – We purchased this dishwasher new in May 2020. Tomorrow I shall be phoning Asko to get a technician out for the THIRD time for the same issue. The on/off buttons cease to work - it seems they have a shelf life of just a few months. We had previously owned Bosch dishwashers, all of which lasted us approximately 10-12 years. months, this machine will be out of warranty and we will have to bear the full cost of repairs after that or, accept that we bought a dud, carry the monetary loss and replace it with something other than Asko.
Premium price for worst quality!!! – Don't waste your valuable money and precious time on this. I bought this for my new home with other high quality appliances. It broke-down 3 times within a year with different error codes. Straight after installation it didn't work with some sensor error so had to wait 3 weeks to get it fixed. dishwasher has also continues problem with overflowing error code. See the images. I made a mistake that I didn't check enough reviews prior to purchase this, but it's not living up to it's price. Premium price for worst quality. I have decided to return this dishwasher. Don't expect much from ASKO service as well, I will write separate review on CS.
Motherboard failed twice – The motherboard has failed twice. I don’t change the settings because when I tried the mother board failed. This time a few days ago the mother board didn’t light up. I scrape dishes before I stack them. The dishwasher doesn’t become clogged. The first failure was when it was under warranty. AsKO say theyLl repair this for free as well. Good but – Our old Asko which came with the house stopped working after many, many years, and we had to buy another dishwasher. We couldn’t decide between Asko and Miele. I didn’t want a lower priced one because we were told by the SA that they were flimsy and since we had an Asko, it would be good to stick with Asko. I sort of agree with this. We paid for… Read more
delivery, and installation and to take away the old dishwasher. The dishwasher was delivered about 1 hour late, but these things happen, so just make sure you set aside time to wait for the delivery and installation.
I have to compare this new Asko to the older Asko we had, well, that was more manual and this is so hi tech. It’s so hi tech, I’m still figuring out how to use it. I’ve read the manual several times, but only know to use the Eco mode for now.
I’m still trying to figure out the benefit of top rack only or bottom rack only mode. We were given a little freebie of 2 Finish dishwasher tablets and a little Finish dishwasher rinse aid as well. Nice freebies, but could have been a bit more instead of just a few.
We bought the white model as it’s cheaper than the stainless steel model. This one is nice and looks good, and all the controls are on the top of the door. I don’t really like this feature, I suppose they’re trying to keep things sleek, but anyway, you get used to it. So you turn it in by using the controls on the top of the door, which will all disappear when you close to run the dishwasher.
Once it starts to run, it’s so quiet, which will be enjoyed by those who like the quietness. You sometimes hear the quiet swoosh noise of the running dishwasher, but otherwise, you only know it’s running by the lights at the bottom. Blue light means you can still load items in. Red light is cannot load. Green light is cycle is finished. Once it is finished, it beeps 3 times and turns the green light off.
You can also change the setting on how load you want the beeps, and change the contrast too. I figured this out by trying it and reading the manual.
There is a top cutlery drawer, which is one of the reasons I bought this model. This makes life easier instead of having to do deep bends to reach for the cutlery basket. It comes with a cutlery basket as well if you want to use that.
The cutlery drawer on top is good for stacking spoons and forks and knives and also big spoons and fit inside too. There are little grooves for the cutlery, you get used to sliding them in there. I like this feature.
The next rack, which is the top rack, is for plastics and other items like wine glasses, there are 2 stands where you can fit in your wine glasses, great if you drink and entertain, if you don’t, this feature is wasted.
The bottom rack is for plates and bigger items. There is a good sturdy handle to pull out the bottom drawer.
Another reason we bought this is because the swirling arm and bottom floor is stainless steel and not plastic as in other dishwashers. This is apparently in all Asko dishwashers.
I wish I could figure out other wash settings but I keep reading the thin manual and can’t figure it out. I do compare this to our old one, which was old, so it was just a manual dial that you turned for different settings, so simple and effective!
So far, we’ve has this for a couple of months and run the dishwasher at least once per day. It is good and I don’t have any complaints. There are no water spots or stains. The dishes are mostly dry in the mornings, sometimes there can be a little water because the lids were on their side or something, so that’s okay.
I have removed the filter inside to wash it with dishwashing liquid, it was a little oily and greasy, so good to give it a monthly clean.
It is an expensive dishwasher, but the brand is supposed to be very good, and efficient. My only gripe is figuring out the other setttings, which so far seem limited, I’d like a shorter Eco mode too.
A couple of weeks in and finding it a decent and quiet dishwasher – Long fair review ahead. I have to admit, the poor reviews have me really concerned. I would not have bought this dishwasher if I'd read these reviews first. I actually went into HN's to buy a different dishwasher, but when I did the side by side comparison against it and this equivalent ASKO, I was convinced that this ASKO dishwasher was a more… Read more
robust, better built and better featured unit. It has better quality shelves, a more sturdy door, better stacking features, better options... so bought it instead.
The button layout is an interesting design choice and the programming options are a little bewildering. This is not the dishwasher for the person who doesn't read manuals. I also miss the finality of shutting the door and pressing a single button to kick off a wash cycle like on my old dishwasher. In ASKO land, you turn on the dishwasher, select the mode you want through a series of sequential button presses then press the go button THEN shut the door. You'll get used to it. Hot tip, don't mash the buttons and they should last.
I paid for the delivery, install and disposal of the old dishwasher option, and the unit was installed without fan fare. The tech was knowledgeable but he rushed through the demo - a really poor thing to do especially if I was an elderly person trading up from a trusted older and much simpler dishwasher - hence my comment about reading the manual.
As far as manuals go, it's not too bad. Take your time with it. Read it a few times. Let it sink in. At first glance it is bewildering and takes some interpretation in a few places.
Leaving the (hot) topic of reliability aside, I suspect one of the reasons that this "genre" of Asko dishwashers gets such a bad rap is that people aren't allowing themselves to bend towards the way this unit washes dishes. It's take far longer than my old unit, you have to press many more buttons, but if you allow for that fact then you'll get the wash you want.
In terms of washes, so far every wash has come out spotlessly clean and the items in the two shelves were completely dry. The bonus top cutlery shelf seems like a great idea, but it doesn't seem to dry well in this area. I've tried the eco, heavy, night, intense etc modes, and don't really see much difference in the cleans except for the length of time... that's the biggest adjustment. Wash cycles take an age - but I guess if you're using 12ltrs of water, that water has to be re-used many times extending the length of the wash cycle people might be otherwise used to. Night mode will take over 4hrs! By the way, the unit is crazy quiet too - you wouldn't know the unit was on if it wasn't for the operating light.
I do have to wonder whether the engineers factored in the wear and tear of longer cycles in the quality of the components - any squibbing in this area might explain the poor reliability reports on these pages. A family doing a daily load, with each load lasting at least 2.5hrs, is likely to exact a lot of wear from the components. For what it's worth, I haven't yet tried a manual time wash yet - they promise much shorter wash cycles - the level of clean may be commensurate.
It stands to reason that because of the continual water recycling during a wash, it is imperative that the dishwasher gets its filters cleaned and the unit goes through a clean cycle often. I don't think it would help the wash or the dishwasher if crud builds up in nooks and crannies. It makes sense to me that the more grit floating around, the more wear on the components. The manual says don't rinse your dishes - I can't bring myself to do that. I figure fewer gritty particles potentially getting into seals of pumps and the like is a good thing.
One last comment - I have almost lost my nut with the ASKO customer service number. I have lost hours waiting in the queue, having to drop off because I was called away. I've left a call back number a couple of times but was not available at the time of the call back, and you ONLY GET ONE CALL BACK. Miss the call and back on the merry go round you go - it's a frustrating and infuriating loop. This is the primary reason I didn't give four stars and probably why I won't get another ASKO appliance. My small taste of their customer service on top of all the negative reviews adds up to a big negative. All I want to do is understand the extended warranty. I pray the unit doesn't break down.
I will add to this review in time.
I finally got through to ASKO customer help... after schlepping through the long pre-record message… Read more (+3 replies)

Dishwasher broke 3 times in first 8 months of purchase- Horrible buy- need a replacement – Cleaning is good but the durability is terrible. Customer service is horrible. I was not even offered a full replacement saying that we are replacing the digital panel and that they identified a fault with this specific part in their production batch. Now this has happened to me 3rd time in a row within 8 months of purchase. I want a refund and I am being told that they cannot guarentee that. They cannot even guarantee a full replacement because now they have to wait for an appointment for getting a report and then they will file for a replacement which may or may not get approved. Horrible service horrible product. Never buy. I've used other dishwashers in the past. Other brands may not claim a lot of water savings but they work!. Asko is the worst!
Don't bother unless you extend warranty – Was sold this dishwasher based on being a so called good brand. The first warning sign was our new machine was installed and it didn't even work. December came and went.... ok Covid ok Xmas... but no communication from Asko, nothing! Called authorised dealers early Jan 2021, they have heard nothing! 15 Jan call from repairer.... Asko have decided to replace the unit. We still have had no communication at all from Asko. 7 weeks on, and no indication of delivery date when we might see the replacement or anything. Communication is poor. They take you money and tell you how wonderful the product is. It’s average at best. And they are a poor company to deal with. Won’t be buying again
Buy Miele and never regret – New purchase Asko dishwasher to replace 14 year-old Miele that was still going strong because we liked the simple brushed metal look.
