Asko Dishwasher is terrible – Worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Badly built and when there is an issue (which there definitely will be) you can't get the parts to fix it. Avoid avoid avoid.
Takes the hard yards out of dish washing – This is our second Asko dishwasher and we find them very good. The build quality of not 100% but they do what we ask and we like how they work. The operation of them is easy and they do a very good job. Yes there are cheaper options but isn't there always. Its a personal choice as we feel they provide the best customer service and operational… Read more
efficiency that we need.
The internal adaptability of the racks is what sold it to us. The final huge benefit is the cutlery tray at the top of the machine. No more nasty cutlery containers that take up space. All dishwashers should have this feature.
My 2nd Asko. Same as the last. But bigger! – Full product code is DBI865IGXXL.S.AU in a sentence ' yes excellent but you will need to know the settings to get best performance from it. NOTE: Edit in 2024 - my tips on getting the best from this machine - then back to the review: after 3 years happy use, my 3 top hacks for getting best performance from this model: 1)use the HEAVY program in… Read more
INTENSIVE or SPEED mode.2) then of the eco options in settings.3) Select EXTRA DRY. Then it's a top performer. It as if be default it's so economical it doesn't clean or dry well. Let it loose and it's the best dishwasher. But I see a lot of issues in other reviews.
We have had blocked filter issues (only when I am away). And inlet F12 issue from either low street water pressure or blocked inlet filter which is normal to have to clean on any dishwasher or washing machine. If pain persists in F12 look up the YouTube video, which is incorrect (you don't need to replace control board) but there are comments from an Asko repair man with the workaround. Its top end of ASKO range, and is a very high quality product that performs without any issues.
Quieter than last model (a touch quieter at only 40db which is amazing, to be sure it's on, I have to touch it). Just a tiny bit of fan noise when the turbo drying mode is active. Used 1-2 loads a day for 2 months now. My last Asko lasted 13 years or so... Bought this one from ASKO direct (they have many just sitting there available for immediate delivery with tiny dings and scratches. Hence how I got such a low price).
It's the XXL model -ideal if you have tall benchtops and want to make use of all the space. Needs tall clearance (stated specifications are Height min86.2cm – max91.2cm)
In practice I removed the 3rd too drawer so we just have big stacking height and no fiddly 3rd tray.
Tip: avoid ECO mode and you want have the issues others mentioned of not cleaning everything (it probably a bit too ambitious when doing it's extreme water saving?)
ASKO installer was extremely careful.
And knew the product. And explained all settings and programs.
He arrived at around 8 am. Perfect.
There is a whole extra tray in the model to make the most of its additional height. It's not deep but Handy for thin/short stuff like espresso cups or plastic containers. We pulled it out for even more space. There are 4 trays / Drawers in all counting the cutlery tray at top.
Height adjustable top two trays very useful. I have a massive wok and it fits easily in the bottom shelf now, compared with a normal dishwasher that would struggle. Excellent wash and drying performance. The filter is an updated and better design from 15 years ago (has an actual handle now!)
And if you're upgrading from your last Asko, the cutlery tray still fits, so you can keep the old one and transfer it across.
It's has extra clips in the trays - very handy one for bottles/vases. And also clips for plastics so they don't fly around. Plus now there are 2 intense wash jets if anything needs an intense clean. See the product videos and you will see what I mean.
Seems to use up rinse aid VERY fast on setting #5, maybe it uses more in turbo drying mode?
Make sure your installer puts the extra (provided) sound dampening pad on the floor/front of it, as this provides even more with sound abatement. It's included. Hence how it's so quiet - I don't think lower than 40db is possible.
Terrible product and even worse customer support – I was fooled by the fancy marketing video for this dishwasher. It does not perform as advertised. To make it worse, the delivery process was awful. I was initially told it was in stock and would be delivered that week. Several months later and many phone calls requesting updates, it was finally delivered. However, it was a surprise, as we were… Read more
notified of a different delivery time. Fortunately we were home. This unit was damaged when it arrived. ASKO fixed this a few weeks after, thank you ASKO. I've tried every setting on this machine and cannot get consistently clean or dry dishes. It performs to a similar standard as the one we replaced, which was 15 years old and faulty.
Not looking forward to yet another visit from the repairman – Bought an Asko dishwasher a bit over a year ago. Within about four months, the buttons for on/off ceased to be responsive- you needed to push down hard with a screwdriver to get it to start. No issues with its cleaning prowess but the button issue has come back. To me it’s a design flaw - never had this issue with either of the two Bosch dishwashers we had prior to buying this one. Bad experience from the start, arrived with defects on the door masked by protective film – Delivery experience was bad: ASKO person texted 8-10am slot but started calling at 7.30am arriving on my steps 7.35am. Whats the point of giving me 2hr slot (as an order with no negotiation from my side) then trying to deliver 30min prior to that? Even worse: once the dishwasher was installed and we removed the protective film from the door we… Read more
can see 2 bulges around the handle area, very visible due to reflection on stainless polished door which supposedly should be high quality flat surface.
In 20y experience buying stainless products it is my fist time to see when minor defects would be masked at the factory by applying the protective film to hide it from the customer instead of doing the quality control and using undamaged door.
It is RRP2999$ top of the range most expensive dishwasher from ASKO which should not just function but also look to match the price tag.
Sent email to ASKO service (also notified Harvey Norman where we bought it, but HN instructed to request changeover for new dishwasher from ASKO), provided photos and now waiting for response, hope it is not weeks like other people on reviews commented for ASKO support.
What a waste of time for something that should be seamless and joyful experience when we just enjoy the "True craftsmanship" per ASKO promise.
Not doing the cleaning work ! Not drying properly either – We have received this top-end dishwasher for three weeks. From day one it had never done the cleaning work as a dishwasher is supposed to do. The cleaning result is like pouring some water onto the dishes with your hands, but a dishwasher is supposed to spray water onto the dishes for cleaning. The tea residues are still there in the mug, the… Read more
fruit and vegetable residues are still there on the peeler, the food residues are still there on the cutting board... The only thing it did is to wet your pre-rinsed dishes and shine them. I have tried spray water into a mug to remove the tea residue using the tap in my sink, wow, it worked much better than Asko dishwasher.
What I have expected is just a similar cleaning result as the old Bosh mid-end dishwasher did in the last 7 years for my family - clean the dishes properly. With the old Bosch dishwasher, I got the plastic cutting board in pure white color as new, the mug without any trace of tea residue, the peeler shining like brand new with clean blades and the handle. But with Asko, no such level cleaning.
In the last 2-3 weeks, I have tried different ways to improve the cleaning result. I have switched from dishwasher liquid to dishwasher powder, both of which gave a perfect cleaning result in Bosh dishwasher. No, that made no difference. I have tried different washing programs - heavy, auto, sanitise, hygiene, plus the super rinse and high-temperature settings enabled. Still the same result.
Not to mention the drying result, which has been complained about by the whole world. Very frustrated with this dishwasher.
Update: Asko sent a technician to check the dishwasher. He reconfigured from the menu to disable… Read more
