Terrible phone, appalling customer service- do not buy an aspera phone – 'Shock proof' phone screen shattered after a fall of about 20cm- the company couldn't care less. BTW; the phone is difficult to use, slow to charge, the camera is just terrible and the touch screen works sometimes...truly awful phone. Do not buy an aspera phone Show details

Rubbish – Do not buy from aspera. The first phone I got would not work. The sim card slot was damaged out of the box. The second so called tuff phone lasted less than six months with easy use. Do not bother with their service it will destroy your mind, it is useless. It did work ok, but service and quality let it down.  Show details

The R8 smartphone from ASPERA – at first i had to seed back the r8 2 times because there were issues with the sim holder beiing damaged before i got the R8 from Cubox Australia but having said that, when i contacted the team at ASPERA Australia they have helped me with the 3rd and final mobile which works very good, now sim card working very well after the team at Round… Read more

hound Australia repaired ( who are the repairers of all ASPERA mobiles, the mobile they repaired, done a great job in repairing the R8....

If you have problem with any ASPERA smartphone ASPERA will help you, they are very good....

everything works very well once the issue was fixed , at this point it was no ones fault, just bad luck in my part, having said that, if i have any issues with any mobile i will speak my mind, all i can say about the R8 ASPERA mobile rugged smartphone is it is a very good mobile , once the touch screen is updated by ASPERA to work a bit quicker in gaming as well as being a bit quicker all over, ( works quick now but bit quicker is better, will be the best Rugged mobile phone on the market

All apps do run very quick, i am impressed

the only thing they could do with there mobile is just make mobile with a very fast touch screen even with games, ( the language & input setting is on high ) at the moment the R8 works well if ASPERA only added the tech to speed up the touch screen the R8 does work quick just a little quicker..

Over all the R8 is a great mobile phone to buy , lets hope that there nest Rugged mobile smartphone maybe called the Rugged mobile R10 will be there best yet

Thank you for reading this review,

Give me back my R5 – ON / OFF BUTTON useless, only special charge cables and earphones fit, does not have VOLTE so does not work on Telstra 4G small cells, rural fringe reception hopeless. After owning an R5 phone previously, the R8 is a real dissapointment. Scratch resistant glass has scratches. The list goes on. Would not buy another Aspera.  Show details

Would not get another one – The camera is alright, display is fine, sounds not bad, seems rugged like I wanted. The keyboard is all over the place, as if I wanted a "Y" it would come up as either a T, a U , a G, a H anything but what you wanted. The pressure you need to apply to the touchpad is worrying as is the other side buttons. It is not consistent with telling me I have missed calls or messages. All in all, I would not buy another .  Show details

Takes ages to reboot – Can't buy after sale car charger. Takes several goes to reboot... Not worth talking about. Delivery is poor. Down loaded apps aren't available on phone. If it wasn't for Water, Dust and shock, then I wouldn't rate at all. Simple a cellphone. Thought I bought a bargain... Just a Joke  Show details

Best one yet – I recently brought the aspera r7 and had nothing but trouble with it my partner had the r8 with no trouble. Once I upgraded I haven't had any problems with it at all. Best phone I have ever owned. It takes great photos and videos. And I can play my games with ease.  Show details

Not what I expected as a Flagship model – Mostly ok but.... The speaker and microphones have muddy audio (during phone calls, not music player). The headset broke in 3 weeks, and was always hard to hear during phone calls. Screen resolution is entry level. Reception appears ok. Power button is really hard to press. Data processing is mostly smooth. Only the factory headset fits the 3.5mm… Read more

jack due to the waterproof cover. With exception of the IP68 rating, the R8 does what my last two $199 phones did, but with muddy audio. So this $400 phone is hard to justify.
