Fantastic, premium range router – This router is fantastic and so it should be for the price. This is aimed at the high end premium market and it delivers. Even though it is an advanced router it is simple to set up and get working, you can them customise it and really tweak it to match your needs. Show details
Love this WiFi 6 router – Worth the money spent. Awesome speeds and decent range. Some old wireless n IoT devices couldn't connect, maybe due to driver issues but overall a solid performer. I would definitely recommend this router to people.
Uber duper Wifi 6 Router – This router is one serious piece of kit. though I've never been able to test the theoretical throughput of the router (not even close to saturating the speed of wifi-6), I've had no issues with the router at all. Almost a plug and play affair. We are a big family and there could be 20odd devices ranging from mobiles and games consoles through to… Read more
NAS and even a network bridge to the parents 2kms away all connected at once and the ax11000 never skips a beat. The range is massive as well. Been able to connect ~50m from home whilst walking the dog so coverage is well... covered. Only gripe is lack of ports, would expect 6 LAN ports at a minimum. I'd trade the RBG logo for the extra LAN ports. Oh, its ugly too, but whos looking?
Solid performer – Set up as wired access point to very embarrassing weak-link modem supplied by Foxtel (they save $$$ where they can). Very powerful signal. AX band is over-rated, only good if you're in the same room otherwise AC 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands are very solid and reliable for everything else. With four people on internet there is barely any lag. flies...except when one person in house plays on-line shooter games that hog bandwidth, and even then lag is just a few seconds. Better than ADSL. Highly recommended. Update: March 2022. Still working brilliantly. Very powerful, absolutely no complaints. Now meshed with a (brilliant) Netgear EX7500 extender to push signal to every corner of our large Queenslander. Can’t speak highly enough about this tech.
Sept 2023 Update. Reliable appliance, strong signal. Supports 3 heavy online users, streaming TV etc. Has 160 channel that provides incredibly smooth streaming.
Best Coverage and Futureproof – We know that WiFi is progressing very fast and as we know WiFi6 is not the latest at the end of this year or very likely so. But this router still has its place in the future for its great connection and coverage. There is a back room where I will get 1 bar out of 5 based on the laptop display. With this router, I get full bar and connection is… Read more
fast.
This pairs well with the future motherboard with wifi connection as it will provide the stable connection and fast connection speed. No longer the need to find a long lan cable and try to hide and line around the walls or ceiling. Now WiFi connection can providd you that stablr speed that requires for uninterrupted game connection.
Set up you need to have a fair bit of router set up knowledge. Intuitive UI but there is a learning curve on where are the settings is located.
Apart from that is a plug in and forget about what gave you good stable fast wifi connection.
WiFi Problems Resolved – We previously had a problem with our Nighthawk Router serving 7 users, with 14 connected devices, from downstairs of a 2 storey brick and cement house. We were happy with our Netgear Modem, being sufficiently fast, but had a lot of buffering, which was felt to be the fault of the Router. Complex gaming on a number of devices made streaming the… Read more
Net, almost impossible.
Finally, we decided to change the Netgear Nighthawk to the much bigger more powerful tri-band Asus Rog. It was amazingly easy to install, and was live in just a few minutes. There is a very good App on Google Play Store for Asus Routers, and it knew which model of Router was being used.
The Router looks like an upside down spider with it's 8 antennae pointing up to the ceiling, and on the top surface of it, is a beautiful glowing red pattern. I have been told it the Logo of "The Republic of Gamers", though I would never guess it.
All devices upstairs and downstairs work very reliably, without buffering. The Router has Trend Micro built in to protect it from malicious attacks, and priorities for devices it needs to serve are listed. It is currently set to gaming first, and streaming second, etc. There are also parental controls, with options. I will not mention all the options that are available. But each, on the App has a question mark, which if touched, explains what the function does.
This is a very expensive Router, but it will not disappoint.
