Couldn't be happier – I just received my ASUS G14 Zephyrus today. I was so amazed with the build quality when i open up the box. I can't believe this compact design has this much of power built inside it. So far, can't not be any happier about this laptop. A pretty good laptop – The laptop is a fast and reliable computer, easily able to handle multiple applications at once. Frame rate was overall a smooth and decent experience when playing first-person shooters such as the heavily modded Halo SPV3.2 on max settings. Great portable graphics and CAD platform – Using this computer for its great portability and battery life for in field graphics, CAD design and PLC-SCADA work. was just borrowing someone's and I needed it for school. Although this is advertised as a gaming laptop my use for this laptop is primarily to do multimedia work and basic media consumption. I love the way it has been designed, and the feel of the keys as well as it's layout. The fan noise the device makes can get a little loud which I know is due to the need for cooling. The only downside I would say for this laptop would be the lack of webcam which made be overlook it at the start, so happy I came back and bought it though!

The BEST 14 inch gaming laptop 2020 – I use the ASUS G14 for PLC programming and also for gaming. I love the size and the comfortable keypad. With the WQHD screen you can have 2 word documents on the screen at once. It can handle any task so far. First up the packaging and unboxing is an amazing experience. Out of the package, it feels like a sturdy laptop and the typing experience is comparable to my Lenovo t450s although key travel is a little shorter. The trackpad is nice and the screen is bright enough. The speakers are amazing although a little on the soft side. I have an issue with my volume up key where it triggers the mute microphone button next to it. I'm unsure if this is a major defect. The fans can also get a little loud when under load. Mine is the eclipse grey version without the anime matrix and the backlight works great. I love the soft-touch metal feel of the chassis as well.

a higher performing processor and graphics card. The packaging is better than any other laptop/tablet I have ever received before. The ROG box is slick and very well packaged. Inside is the laptop, and the charger with DC plug attached. Power cable also included. Some info booklets for warranty is hidden inside a box that had me thinking I was going to receive a nice surprise but disappointed to see it is only paperwork. I purchased the GA401IU-HA031R white (non AniMe illuminated cover). It's a pretty machine. The white cover looks very nice. I wish the rest of the body's silver colour matched the white screen cover. The screen bezel is black, keyboard and chassis is silver. The unit is reasonably light whilst still feeling solid. All plastic coverings. Some nice metallic finish like other models in this class would be a nice touch. Screen hinge seems sturdy and I assume will last years. It feels smoother and stronger than other laptops I've used. There is no camera on this laptop. That is a big downfall but something I was aware of before purchasing. All the connections are plentiful and latest technology, but at least one Thunderbolt 3 connection would have been a great addition. So upon opening and plugging in the charger, I turned the unit on for the first time. It takes a while for the system to start up on first go to get to the Windows 10 Pro setup. But once all setup was completed, I was happy with the way the non reflective WQHD looks. It is sharp, crisp, and the colours are brilliant. I opened the included Dolby app to watch some sample videos for audio visual experience. The video is smooth and better than I have experienced on any other laptop/tablet. The sound, although very nice, is lacking in volume. Two little speakers just below the keyboard just can't pump out high volumes. Less so than my 67 year old Toshiba. So I suggest you have a good set of headphones or external speakers if you expect high volumes. The Ryzen 7 processor is quick. It is snappy and almost knows what I want to do before I even do it. 16gb DDR4 RAM is plentiful. 512GB SSD is good but 1TB could have been included for this price point. Keyboard is soft and responsive. In some room lighting conditions, the key icons can be a bit hard to see. Adding the white backlit lighting with the silver keys can become hard to see clearly what each key is. A quick press of the FN key and changing the brightness of the keyboard backlight helped with this. But I think the darker keyboard on the darker G14 models would be much easier to read. In room darkness, this keyboard lit up works a treat. There is no page up/down key which I use a lot. I didn't know this before purchasing. The unit runs quietly and cool. But I have felt it warm up quite a bit when under load during high resolution video editing. The system as a whole handled the demanding tasks I needed to complete. I have not setup the finger print sensor so I can not comment on that.

times (not a big concern though). For frequent typists and coders, it also doesn't feature dedicated Home and End keys, and not embedded into Left / Right arrows either like in some laptops - something you might need to know about. The screen on the model I got (WQHD) is not super bright on max brightness - if you're mainly using this indoor like me then it's not a problem, but it won't do too well in intense sunlight. On the flip side, the black on this screen is quite dark, so it's ideal for watching movies / playing games at night with lights off. Finally, when I was setting up for the first time it randomly crashed on me and I needed to do a hard reset - not sure if it's a hardware or software problem but still annoying, hence the 4 stars. Those problems are tolerable to me for such a solid device, although I still wish the Home & End problem will be fixed later in a software update.

Solid Build; would recommend – The aluminium construction is sturdy and highlighted by the screen tilting to provide air circulation on the underside of the machine. The screen is clear with good brightness and contrast and the keyboard works well. While being on the heavy side, this 14" computer sure packs a punch for its size. Show details

Perfect little beast for my use cases – The Asus Zephyrus G14 (1660ti Variant) is perfect for my uni needs. Super powerful, small and incredibly lightweight and fits into my backpack with ease. CPU and GPU are great for CAD and i'm sure it would work great as a gaming device (although I don't game).
