Great idea ... no organisation – We used to use Aussie farmers and never had issues with products that weren't resolved... but one day the driver drove into our garden and got bogged, knocking over plants and leaving big holes in the lawn. and much of the produce that seemed ok on the day it arrived, started to rot within 24 hours. I am not sure why this is happening as fresh fruit and vege should be lasting at LEAST 72 hours when stored in the right conditions.

Issue #2- SPAM, cold calls and trickery. I receive multiple phone calls from AFD, offering me "credit" when I place my next order. The first couple of times I was busy and didn't take the offer. On the third call, the agent gave me a big spiel about how much I am valued so they want to give me a $20 credit on my next order. I said ok fine, I will order later just send me an email. Nope, she had to put it onto my account then and there, but to add the credit, I needed a minimum of $60 in my online shopping cart. She advised that she would put an order in my cart and add the credit. I said I didn't intend to do an order yet and didn't know what I wanted to purchase yet, in which she advised, that was fine I could go in and set up the order later. Several days later I open my door to a box from AFD. I didn't order this. I went to my account and sure enough, they had picked some random meal box, put it in my account shopping basket and scheduled the delivery. My card was charged. Not only that, they had put it on a weekly reoccurring order. SNEAKY.

When I phoned, the agent was not helpful at all, told me that the previous agent would have advised me what she was doing and they have the call recorded to prove it, so sorry you don't have a leg to stand on. After trying to get her to understand my side of what happened (ie, I was not fully advised of what the order entailed, nor that it would be set up for WEEKLY auto deliver), she made a weak attempt to "talk to her supervisor" who when she came back from hold, he was " in a meeting for the rest of the day". I asked to get a phone call back after she spoke to them, in which she assured me they would. Never heard anything back.

Aussie Farmer Direct, why do you need to be so sneaky to try and get people to shop with you? If you want to give credit to you customers, why not just send them an email with a code or place it onto their account to let them use when they are ready to shop? Looking at the other reviews I can see this is a tactic you use to catch people out. Well you got me, but only once. You got your $60 from me, however you have now lost me, and anyone I know that may ask my recommendation of you, as a customer. Not the smartest marketing plan.

My recommendation is, stay away from this company for your online shopping. Stick with Coles and Woolies for now and if you want to shop local, do it the old fashion way and go into your local farmers market

good. I also like that I am supporting local producers and manufacturers. My son loves their sliced rye bread (soft as white bread), it's his favourite brand of bread. I have tried ordering their fresh produce a number of times over the years but the quality can be hit or miss so I only order those items occasionally if they're on special. Delicate items like fresh berries and soft fruit tend to arrive on the doorstep slightly battered, which is annoying. However, if you are unhappy with a product, they are very good at giving you a credit, I have never had an issue with getting a refund on a unsatisfactory product. They have improved the free insulated delivery bag, it is much better than the old one, and they supply lots of reusable esky iceblocks to keep food cool on your doorstep.

I’ve used Aussie Farmers a few times now on and off over the past few months and I love opening the box to see all of the healthy fresh produce. I am vegetarian and love that the recipes are easy to make and not all salads or pasta as alot of places assume vegetarians only eat salads or pasta!

It’s given me the opportunity to try recipes I wouldn’t normally try as I am a very boring cook.

The boxes have always been delivered within the time frame specified and we’ve only ever had two issues with food and one was a capsicum that had gone bad inside but that’s no ones fault because you couldn’t tell from the outside and the other was ginger that had clearly gone mouldy from the outside.

One thing I will say is that when I first ordered I used credit card and there was no way for me to delete the details off the site so I emailed them and they deleted it for me. That was quite a concern for me because you should be able to delete it yourself. Now I use PayPal instead.

Given the issue I spoke about at the start, I’m not sure I’ll be ordering again. It was a great experience up until our last order so it’s a real shame they turned out to be dodgy.

Update: they refunded the money they took out and were apologetic.

Major disappointment AFD have closed – We have used AFD for several years and the service and food quality has been first rate. Anytime we've had an issue with a missing item or spoilage the item(s) have been replaced or credited. The people we spoke with on the service lines were always helpful and considerate. It is sad to see the company close.

Super sad to hear about AFD – Have been a customer for 5 years, never had a problem with service or quality. They were continually improving upon themselves and strived to ethically source all produce. It's a real shame.

Great service great food – I have been ordering through them for the past couple of months. The food quality is much better than the supermarket food, especially meat and they are always on time with delivery and have even given me two cool boxes because I forgot to put mine out.

cancel or change the order DESPITE me putting it through online and it confirming that it was done. Then there was the incessant daily spam. Email. SMS. Calls. Including both "promotions" and advising me incorrectly of things I never ordered eg "___ is removed from your order" - huh? i never ordered that in the first place.

Good riddance that it closed. You can't blame woollies and coles for everything.

AFD have closed down ! – Based on the bad reviews here, it is no surprise that this scam company have collapsed in not fulfilling orders, short changing customers, overcharging customers and very bad customer service. Very bad business model and not trustworthy. Remember, your first customer can be your last customer !

My mother loves it – Sadly I've read the company has just gone to the wall. They were great for older customers not on the internet or using smartphones. My mother is quite upset and is wondering how she will manage. Her local supermarket veggies are not as good and they don't deliver some fridge or any freezer meals. I hope someone will consider trying again to get this kind of service going. (Melbourne metro)

credit details, therefore we can do whatever we want with your money even send you products without you asking for them. So to all future costumers beware for your money. The door salesperson will tell you everything to sign you on paper and after that you are in their hands. Beware.

STAY AWAY.. scammers – We received a free coupon stating that it is free and we placed the order. The order was never delivered and we never received. one off first payment process. Sounded like a scam they said I could ring them back to check. Sounds like a very outdated business. The first customer service persons rationale for the process was we have done it like this for the last 6 years??? Not a rationale. The account manager said it was only for large orders but couldn’t decide if a large order was $100 $150 or $200. canceled 1 item to don't give me discount – really bad experience. I used $25 off first order When You Spend $60. 9 o'clock in the evening before the delivery I received a new invoice with one item removed and the price dropped to 45 with out any discount. I called them, they said the system just like that and can't give me discount or credit. And asked me use the code to purchase again. I won't trust them any more.

Not bad – So far I have used it 3 times. First 2 times got something out of stock which was annoying. The 3rd time was all good. The quality of vegetable and meat are pretty good. It is more expensive than Coles/WWS but I used the discount code which was pretty good. Overall not too bad.

Bad quality and expensive – I have ordered from Aussie farmers a number of times, having 4 kids one with a disability it was very handy for me, they were fine at the start, expensive but good food, then the quality became very poor, very over ripe bananas which had to be thrown away, rotten apples, missing products, and they didn’t care, the lady named Edna was very bad at customer service. I would never recommend anyone to them.

days time, there is only my wife and myself at home and noway would we eat all that meat in 4 days my neighbors were away my family live too far away to share it. I informed AFD and they said that they will pass the problem to the meat department, since then I have contacted them 2 more times and I still have no answer from them.

Also the box of fruit and vegetables were not all that fresh I actually had to throw out the stone fruit it was just plain awful and rotten, I had to go and buy more meat for Christmas Day and cherries when all I should have done is just serve and enjoy lunch,

Great since they introduced meal boxes! – I have used this site for several years. After a break I tried them again and was very pleased to see they have introduced meal boxes. I have tried many of these boxes and, except for one, they have been excellent. I have found ones that have become favourites and I try others to see what they are like. Well worth a try. I will keep using this site. The recipes are much more user friendly than Marley spoon.

Appalling Service – I placed a one off Xmas order with the company for delivery 2 days before Xmas. Order total $125. The day before I was due to receive the delivery, I logged on to double check what was due to arrive. My $125 order, had been reduced down to $50, with no notification from the company. Appalling. If I was relying on this for Xmas dinner, I’d be thoroughly screwed. Appalling. Never use this company!!!

Terrible service. I will never order from this company again – I was harassed in a shopping centre to order through AFD, they gave me $25 off my order so I thought I’d try them again (was disappointed with the quality years ago). Delivery day comes & I didn’t receive half of what I ordered & NO $25 off. Customer service completely useless. I will NEVER try this company again, there are so many other companies offering a similar service that are 100% better. Don’t waste your time or money.

Terrible Website & Customer Service – Very disorganised website and unclear, delivery charged for when not requested and customer service refused to refund & no return policy for food. Sales e-mails all conveniently hit inbox, but orders & invoices go directly to spam conveniently!! Will never use or recommend this service again, will stick to Coles or Woolworths much more professional.

delivery my cart didn’t update and I ended up getting way more groceries than I had planned on. I’m frustrated with the ordering system and IT issues that are obviously an ongoing issue. Good food? Yes. Worth the trouble? Probably not.

several times but no response. Online chat not working. Cancelled order and won't bother using again seeing as you change the price of the order after confirming a price. 'Fresh' items also went off very quickly so had to throw quite a few out.
