Liars, deceitful and cunning. Also known as Lift and Load – So I want to inform you of some of their tricks. Because they will send you in circles within their company to confuse you, hide information and then over charge you for broken and damaged goods. the game and they do this to send you around in circles looking for someone to fix the problems they created.
So first off they quoted for 35sqm and charged me for 50sqm even though I measured the size of my goods before packing. But they hold you at ransom - you don’t get your things till you pay up. So what choice do we have. Not only that, they split our load without telling us, we only found out when we received half our goods. Then they wouldn’t tell us where our stuff was, they wouldn’t tell us when it would arrive, and they wouldn’t reduce or refund the excessive charges they made us pay. We literally had nothing to sit on for a week. We tried speaking to someone in the office, but they sent us around in circles and got no information or help.
Secondly and please don’t use them! We transported our car through them too. Such a stupid mistake. They wrote off our car. No joke! They loaded the car and then drove into a low ceiling at the petrol station and took the roof out and windscreen and bent the chassis. They had our car for 2weeks it happened on the day they picked our car up, but they didn’t tell us until the day it was meant to be delivered. Which coincided with a public holiday. So we have now been without a car for 3 weeks. So you would think they wouldn’t make us pay for our written off car because they trashed it. No! They made us pay them because they wouldn’t release the car to the insurance company until we paid it. We literally had no choice but to pay them otherwise we couldn’t have our smashed up car.
I urge you, do not use this company. Lift and Load and Aussie Moving and Storage are one company.
They use two company names, multiple names for the same people all to confuse and deceive.
My advice is to save up for longer, pay more and use a reputable service
Don’t throw your money and goods away – Quote 23 cubic metres arrived in a 15cubic metre truck half filled. Moving at 2am arrives 6 hours late Lost items Threatened to impound goods in storage. Doubled the rate after
Beware Beware Don't go with this Company – Worst removalist Dont use Quote space then say you have gone over Hold furniture for ransom till you pay extra Damaged a lot of furniture their Liars said would pay to fix but nothing
Beware of this company – Beware of this company. They lie about everything. They are scamming people everywhere. They arrive with very little space and lie to you that this is the amount of space in the contract. They hold the goods over you so you have to pay. I have contacted fair tradings but it looks like they don't want to do anything. Save yourself a heartache and don's use this company
Everything about this company is a LIE – This company will come in the cheapest when quoting, guaranteed. Then your nightmare will begin. First, they will treat your belongings horribly, they will stack the truck worse then any amateur could, weight will be placed on places that will either stress or outright break your furniture. It’s not so much stacked as it is piled up. Do an ABN… Read more
search, these people have little to no experience.
Second, once they have you stuff on the truck, the SCAM comes in to full effect. That little quote which won your business, well it’s about to go up astronomically. The lead hand (you’ll know who it is pretty quickly, he does all the talking from the start) takes you aside and tells you that you have gone over your paid for allocated space on the truck, but don’t worry, he can still fit it and you won’t even have to wait for the next delivery run. However every cubic metre over is charged at double rates, he will not give you a figure or even an estimate, and his proof will be him gesticulating at the truck. Fortunately I was prepared for this due to the diligent people on this review website (I too only found out about this company after booking them), so I had organised my furniture loosely into a space inside my home that fit within what I had purchased, and low and behold I actually had 4sqm left over!!! Organised loosely! So when the SCAM started, I enquired what his estimate was, he refused to tell me and all I got was he had to run the numbers and he will have a figure when he arrives at the drop off point. At this point I told him we are no longer having this discussion. I informed him I knew exactly how much space I was taking up and gave him the figure I got when stacking my belongings myself, he said that it went over that but not by much so I shouldn’t worry, I then countered with the figure I paid for which was 4sqm over, he then started to babble how it was actually a huge amount and I would be up for a lot more money but he still couldn’t give me an estimate. I then told him he was running a SCAM and that I would not pay him a cent more. He gave up at that point.
Third, they turned up a day late, with no explanation, I understand delays, the least you can do is explain why.
Fourth, they did lots of damage to our belongings.
Finally, this company will not provide copies of the paperwork, receipts, or invoices. This company will not return phone calls or emails once the furniture has been dropped off.
TL;DR. Use this company if you know exactly how much space you need and nothing is of value. Be prepared to argue your case and don’t back down! They are a SCAM, legal only by the fact that they refuse to hand over any paperwork so there is no legal documents to use against them.
Do not get this company to move you – After paying $850 deposit was then told it was non refundable. After they obtain your deposit they refuse to answer their phone it goes straight to voicemail but will email you after a few days guilt tripping that they have booked your service and “can’t possibly” get another customer. Their reviews never showed up when I looked for them but after getting our money they did. How very convenient for them. My move was from Brisbane to Melbourne.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - COMPLETE SCAM – These guys are more than dodgy - they are scammers. We used them for our move from Sydney to Cairns. They are wonderful right up until you pay! The date was all booked in. They rang me the night before at 10pm to say they could be there in an hour. I said no, they were not moving my goods in the dark at 11pm at night that they could come at the… Read more
agreed 7am. They turned up at 8am. The truck was pretty damaged and then when they opened the back of it things were everywhere. We had packed our stuff very well and professionally. We did most of the loading for them! They broke other people's items that were on the truck right in front of us - we had to clean up the glass. They tried to claim we were over to get more money but this was not the case and we refused to pay the extra. They then didn't deliver our goods on the agreed day. They would not return my calls. When I finally got onto them, they gave us a day that was 2 weeks later than planned and they would not deliver the goods until they had the full payment. We made plans around the goods arriving and they still didn't turn up on the rescheduled date and no one would return the calls! They finally turned up without a phone call and lucky my partner and I work close to home. They waited for us to arrive and proceeded to unload our stuff on the side of the road! Boxes were damaged that were clearly marked fragile. Fridge, washing machine all damaged, They dropped the fridge in front of us. Broke our bedside tables in front of us - never once caring or apologizing. The boxes were damaged and in some instances - wet! Even thought it never rained during pick up or drop off. Mattress which was in a proper plastic moving protector - damaged ripped and covered in black dirt that we cannot get off.
After the move they would not return calls or email. I contacted Fair Trading and I let them know and they replied to my email telling me to read their T&Cs. I told them that was the whole point of my complaint as they didn't deliver on what they promised. They state that they offer a professional service. They take care of all your goods and deliver them in the best possible condition - NOT TRUE. They did not meet any of what they promised. Please spread the word and DO NOT USE this company.
Rip offs, scammers and terrible customer service – If you don't want the added stress to your move, then do not use this company. They will be the cause of all your stress and worry. My experience was horrendous. I asked for a quote and the company was very quick and helpful providing delivery dates and prices. As soon as i agreed to the delivery and paid the deposit, everything changed. They… Read more
contacted me two days before the agreed pick-up date at 7PM to say they wanted to pick my items up at 1AM the next morning. The driver said he had been instructed to pick my items by the route manager and he was coming at 1AM and two days early. I had to frantically try and contact the office which was a horrible stressful experience as they did not answer calls, texts or emails. I finally got in touch and they finally agreed to send people at a reasonable time of 8AM after I questioned their business hours and stating that I had not finished packing since they want to pick up my items early. They also don't have an allocated space for your items so they also scam you by saying you're over the quoted cubic meter, there is no way you can check this cause they just randomly stack all off your items.
I was basically forced to provide my stuff two days early and as soon as they had picked up my stuff, I wanted to confirm the delivery date had stayed the same, I emailed the office twice that day only to receive an email one day later stating my delivery date is one week later than the agreed date. The quote I was provided with said the dates are fixed unless there is uncontrollable delays such as truck break downs. I was unfortunate enough to not have the delivery date on the quote as this had been agreed over the phone. The office immediately denied they agreed upon a delivery date. This was horrible for me as I had to go a week in a new location with no fridge, furniture and no clothes for my new job. I obviously wouldn't have agreed to these terms if I had known this would be their delivery approach.
They also did not do what movers usually do which is write down how many cartons or boxes they take and provide a inventory list of items they pick up for you to sign. I had to do this myself. This is extremely dodgy and frightening.
Once they had my items i desperately tried to get updates and the office would not answer my calls. I had to set my phone to a private number to get them to answer. They agreed to drop my items off closer to the date I requested if possible. I eventually got a call five days after my requested drop off date and two days earlier than what they changed their mind to once they picked up my items. They said they would drop my items off that day. They sent the invoice and added additional storage charges of extra hundreds of dollars that were not in the quote, I had to question them on their quote and had get my partner to call them up and rectify this so I could pay the invoice to receive my stuff days late. The driver was meant to text when he was two hours away. He did not text and i tried to follow-up and it turned out they intended to turn up after midnight. Again I told them midnight is not an acceptable drop off time for anyone, let alone a young woman in a unit complex. They finally agreed to drop it off at 8AM the next day, they showed up an hour early again. When they pulled my stuff off the truck my boxes were wet, and damaged. Luckily very little of my stuff was broken inside, only a few cups which the driver was adamant "You packed them broken". Which was completely insane.
To put it simply this company has no idea how to run a business. They don't have the adequate paperwork, they deceive their customers, attempt to overcharge their customers, don't communicate with their customers, nothing is given to you in writing and they don't treat you with courtesy or respect. They are horrible scam artists and I would caution anyone from seeking their services
Never ever use this company scam 100 percent – Do not use "Aussie Moving & Storage" They are crooks. I have just dealt with them in my move back to Qld from Vic. Reading some reviews (which I should have done in the first place to avoid all this) They have a scam they repeat, it seems. They quote on an agreed cubic metre amount after you tell them what you have but they include a clause in the… Read more
contract that says if you go over that amount you are charged $99 per cubic metre you are over.
The scam is they pack your stuff (not very well at all) and once in the truck they say you are over the amount quoted on, but not by how much yet. They send an email the next day demanding more money to cover the extra amount or they won’t deliver your goods and will charge you storage fees until paid...In my case they said I was over by 15 cubic metres but no evidence or working out is given as to how this amount was decided on, it is obviously a figure they pull out of thin air....so they were trying to say that I had 35 cubic metres, which is absolutely impossible considering the truck size and that there was already a load in the truck from a previous pickup that took up over half the truck.
So now they have your stuff and extort money from you to get it back. There is nothing you can do about it. There is no comeback with them, no way to dispute this amount. They refuse to budge on the amount they claim is packed even though it is impossible. I have photos of my furniture in the truck that can prove the amount they say is not true and how badly it was packed. They know they have you over a barrel because they have your goods and will charge you more for each day they store it and will charge for re handling.
They also charged me extra hours to pack into the truck at $99 per extra hour (2 hours). I had made the effort to stack 99% of my goods all together in the garage to streamline the uplift, yet the guys were on their phones and standing around not knowing how to pack properly. They spent over an hour repacking some of the previous load and moving it around. They even broke something as they packed it and never apologized or seem concerned at all. They had no idea what they were doing and they even wore thongs. So overall very unprofessional.
Punctuation was nonexistent as well. They never turned up the day they said they would, I waited all day, trying to call and them not answering. When I finally got hold of someone they said they would be there the next day at 8am. They were 5 hours late! So I was expected to pay for an 2 extra hours but they can be 1 day and 5 hours late with no care in the world.
The lady I spoke to hung up on me when I rang to dispute the new demand of money and was sent a text to call the depot manager. But he is in on the scam and says he will sort it out, but then I get an email saying they are giving me a discount of $500. But I still had to pay over $1,100 for them to deliver my furniture. So a quoted job went from $1,790 to $2,973.
Avoid this company like the plague. I have contacted fair trade and I will be looking into what else I can do to get this company exposed for their evil and unethical practices.
JUST DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! You'll end up in tears – Back street low lifes ripping you off.. you might get a quote for so much, but come pick up, they will say no no you got too much (even though you gave them specific list!) then come drop off, they don't open that truck til you pay more money. Scammers Scammers. Don't go for them just because they are cheap. Here I didn't want to pay $2500 for… Read more
another removalist thought I'd save on going with this mob $1900 .. my move ended up costing me nearly $4000..
Say they'll be there, don't turn up.. excuses after excuses.. ohh and if you do go through them, be prepared in having to help them, or you'll be lumped with more money.... I could go on and on here.. but this is going on to an official complaint as I'm taking this matter further
As with the last reviewer, if there was a 0 for service, this company would get it! – Husband requested some prices to move our three bedroom rented house from Brisbane to North QLD, this company came in pretty cheap, but because of the bad reviews, we decided not to use them. However, the lady in the office rang my husband and insisted that the reviews were not correct and that they had had a few disgruntled customers (in… Read more
hindsight I can see why!) and that they would be the perfect solution. My husband paid the deposit (apparently non-refundable, but we will see about that) Moving day arrived, and I was told to expect the movers after lunch, with a text/phone call two hours previously. I had taken the day off work and was waiting for them to arrive from 11am. By 3pm I had not heard anything, and by re-reading the reviews I started to get a bad feeling (comment of arriving at 9pm at night looked like being a reality) I had in the meantime got hold of another Furniture Removal company, who asked me what sort of furniture I had, made me list what was in each of the bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms etc, just as a back up. By this time, hubby had made a phone call and I was told to expect them after 5pm (not very happy at this stage) At 5pm, there was still no truck, we decided to go with another company. Hubby rang Aussie Moving to cancel the truck - he tried eight times! Could not leave a message as the mail box was full (great business there!) as soon as he sent the text to cancel the job, he got about three phone calls, advising that the truck was 15 minutes away.
Do not use this company, they have a two hour time limit to load the truck, plus a designated space limit, which if you go over, they will charge you (for the space and the time!), there is no way two blokes can load a houseful in two hours, just a money making scheme.
Thankfully, we made the decision not to use them, it may have cost us our deposit, but at least we know our stuff will arrive on time, and with no additional charges.
Horrible service and experience – 2 bedroom townhouse. Booked for 30m3. I booked a removal on 23/8/18 and I was told that it will be pick up in the morning. I waited from 9am and The removalist came like 9.30pm at night and loaded my stuff until 1am in the morning. Noone called me to inform anything and I chased them up every 2 hours and my calls never got answered. I contacted… Read more
like 4 different numbers and no answer and [name removed] (route manager) is very unprofessional. She didn't pick up phone but replied to text. The guys should have finished my stuffs in no more than 2 hours but they took like 3.5hours and we helped them as well as it was very late and cold. They packed boxes first instead of heavy and big items, then they spread my items out and told me I am over 7m3 than my 30m3 booking:due to my electric piano is 5m3 by itself. Then they charged me 99dolar/m3. I didn't want to sign the paper that my stuffs is over but if I didn't sign, the guy wont leave. Then I emailed [name removed] and she told me she will keep the overcharge for 110dolar, then the next day she told me the email was sent wrong and want me to pay full price of 693dolar for the 7m3 over. My stuffs were supposed to arrived Saturday and it didn't. My husband waited and took day off work. They unloaded my items without even call me, just sent me an email, demanded me to pay or later they will charge me double handling fee and storage. On Saturday when my stuffs supposed to be delivered, no calls no text and we just waited. We called them and no answer and then I tried the driver number and he said he still 600kms away and will not deliver today. Will be the next day. Next day no call nothing and they unloaded my stuffs as I haven't paid the extra amount. And I tried call [name removed] and spoke to her about the service and why they unloading my stuffs. She told me I have to pay in full and the goods will be delivered the same day or she will charge extra fee. I paid them bcz I dont want any more delay and I got the manager number [name removed], contacted him and only one reply asking my information and then with no reply again. Please don't use this company. I hope noone will ever experience like me again.
Do not use this company!!! – This company has caused me an immense amount of stress over the past few weeks, they are scammers who rip you off. Initially when getting a quote, they are amazing, they send you a calculator to see how many m3 you will need (this calculator is completely inaccurate on purpose so that they can change you $150 per extra m3, unfortunately you only… Read more
find out about this on collection). They are so terribly unorganised that they cannot tell you what time the delivery will take place so you might be waiting the entire day like me for them to arrive. They are very quick to take your money but when it comes to customer service/getting back to you/logistical issues, they are terrible. The driver arrives and takes a quick look at your goods and then "thumb sucks/guesses" how many m3 you are over with no proof, they do not arrive with an inventory list to sign, so it is your word against theirs, if you do not pay the "apparent m3 you are over" they will not deliver your goods, so you are caught and helpless. You not receive an official invoice for your payment, you receive a word document with 1 sentence written with the amount that is paid (this has made me wonder if this is being declared to the ATO) This whole experience has been a nightmare and so stressful. They also delivered 3 days late because the truck broke down, it seems that they risk safety in order to make money. I feel sorry for the people working there, management/owners are running a very dodgy business. Don't let them scam you like they have caught many others!
I am disgusted that a company like this exists in Australia!
Negative star – Do not use this company! Staff are not trained, damaged to the property walls and door frames, broke furniture carrying it from the house to the tuck. Company does not take responsibility and won't pay for damages. Moved a 3 bedroom house, was quoted for 35m3 was told that our stuff came to 55m3 when we had less stuff then what was actually… Read more
sent on the inventory list. We were suppose to get 2 fully trained professional guys but One guy was on his first day and definitely looked like he had no training at all. He didn’t even know how to pick up furniture. Picking up way too much stuff and then dropping it down the stairs and stood around and had to be told what to do. Couldn’t lift any bulky items like fridge, sofa etc. my partner had to help the other guy. The whole point of getting removalists was so that he didn’t have too. The main guy was on the phone for the first 1hr on and off and they keep stopping for smoking breaks. Both of them were banging our stuff on the walls and doors. They chipped the door frames and left paint marks all over the walls and dented the walls. Had to get fix as we were handing over the keys to property, called company straight. Instead of 2 hours as quoted they took 4.5 hours. Called the complaints department straight away and got a text message saying to call back later. When I sent a text to say what had happen still not response.
Once my partner questioned the dimensions of the truck the driver was quick to admit that we hadn’t even used the 35m3 that we were quoted. Also he wasn’t filling the height of the truck. There was a lot of space. The company wants to charge us for overtime, when my partner and I (who is 5 months pregnant) were carrying boxing and furniture to the truck because the other guy was standing around, waiting to be told what to do.
It’s says in the website that their trucks have either a tailgate lift or ramp, which was not the case at all with our truck, everything was lifted up onto the truck.
They wanted to end up charging us for 40m3, 5m3 over. But on their quote it stated that we only need to pay if we went over 40m3. When I questions them about it. They said we have to still pay but we are getting a discounted rate because it’s under 40m3 but it didn’t state that anywhere on the quote or contract signed.
When my partner spoke to the so called complaints number the guy said we can pay or they will unload our stuff. So my partner said That’s fine we’ll unloaded our stuff and then he hung up on my partner and wouldn’t answer the phone again.
I would in future go with a company that quotes you on cubic size only and not allocate time allowances as well. Personally, they will always go over the time allocation allowed, it’s in their best interest too. Also work out the cubic metres on the truck and how much space you have to work with before they start, don’t trust the driver as he will always say it’s over because they charge for this. The company and driver both get money out of it.
