Quote BLQ - 124337A – DO NOT USE. Great communication until I paid my deposit
Do not use this company – I booked Backloading removals for some furniture to go from Redcliffe to Cranbourne. 1st December 2021. Waited all day and didn't turn up. At least 15 phone calls before reaching anyone. Said they were too busy and would refund my money I sent bank retails for refund . Numerous emails and and unanswered calls I still have no money as of 13/1/22 … Read more
I see from other reviews this pattern of behavior was going on in 2018. This company also Trades as Moving Again. They are based in Narang not 63 George St Brisbane as shown on web site. They must be stopped.
Would not recommend using Backloading Removals – This company gives the appearance of being professional. They provided a quote for a 1 bedroom unit move from Sydney to regional NSW, and the customer service people were responsive on the phone. However, after changing the date without consultation, they then cancelled less than 2 days before the new confirmed moving date (no call, just an… Read more
email with no explanation). I had already given notice on my rental flat so was left in a very difficult, stressful and expensive situation. Would not recommend using them.
Do Not Use this Company – Once secured deposit they do not reply in any hurry, I sent repeated emails requesting a updated price. Refused to give adjustment price they just tell you you will be charged extra by driver on day. After repeatedly asking and still refused a quote for the extra items I would have (I supplied a full inventory with measurements) I became… Read more
suspicious and that was when I read the reviews which all reflected the experience I was having. I cancelled, they refuse to refund my deposit or any part of it, I tried to resolve directly with them, they blatantly do not care at all. I have lodge complaints with Fair Trading and ACCC.
Do Not Use This Company – Do not use this company. They will call you and email until you have paid them the full amount. They promise a call the day prior to your move - which doesn't happen. They turn up 3 hours late... Without a phone call. They deliver your furniture days late... Surprise surprise WITHOUT A PHONE CALL. They damage your property and leave possessions… Read more
behind. They don't take ownership for their mistakes and even consumer affairs can't get anything out of them... I have to waste more of MY money and my time to take it to court if I want to go further. For more in depth information, I have posted a copy of the letter I wrote to them below. They also don't give a damn about complaints as I never personally got a response, I'm surprised they replied to consumer affairs.
Good Afternoon,
Can this email please be forwarded to the appropriate person?
I wish to make a formal complaint regarding the service, or lack there of, that I have received from your company. I am also seeking compensation.
After visiting your website, on recommendation from a friend, I received a moving quote from your company to move me from Victoria to South Australia. Based on the quote I received I booked in my move with you.
I was booked in for the 15/12/16. I paid the initial deposit. I then worked out I had a little extra to move and received an amended quote so I called and made another payment via credit card and finalised the account on the same day via bank transfer. Upon paying the account I was advised that I would receive a call from the removalist the day prior to the move (Wednesday 14/12/16).
Wednesday 14/12/16 came around and by mid afternoon I had not had a call. I wasn't stressed as i'd received an email earlier in the day saying that generally I'd get a call after 4:30PM.
At around 5:30pm I sent an email to your company just to make sure i'd be receiving a call. 7PM come around, no reply email and no call. I tried to call your company and the out of office message advised you were closed, but the emails are always monitored. so I sent another email explaining I need to know what time the removalist was coming as I had to leave the property at 12PM to go to the airport to catch my flight, so if they were coming after that I had to organise for a family member to be at the property.
9PM that night and still nothing. No call. No email. It was then too late for me to organise anyone to be at the property as they all had their own days to plan.
Moving is stressful enough, without adding this on top of it. I was wondering if the removalist was actually going to turn up.
I got an email from your office the following morning. No apology, no anything, aside from the direct contact number for the removalist. My husband called and spoke to him at 8am that morning (15/12/16) and the removalist advised he would be there within 2 hours.
2 hours passed and the removalist was not there. Now I understand there can be delays or they could have been running behind... which is fine. But we did not even receive a call. I then called the removalist again.. 30 mins before we had to leave for the airport. He advised he was 20 mins away. They finally turn up and we had to run out the door to leave for the airport. Luckily we made it in time.
After speaking with the removalist, we discussed what was being moved and what was to stay at the property and he also told me that our furniture would be delivered possibly the following day (Friday 16/12) if not, definitely Monday (19/12) - which was fine as we had arranged accommodation until Monday anyways. He said we would get a call 1hr prior to drop off.
Friday we did not hear from the removalist so we assumed it would be here Monday. I attempted to call them to confirm, but only got their voicemail each time.
Monday come around and by mid morning, I had not received a call. We attempted to make contact and yet again got their voicemail.
I called them again mid- Afternoon and finally got through. I was then told that he removalist was a day behind so we wouldn't be getting our furniture until the following day (Tuesday 20/12). Now this would not have been an issue had we received a call earlier and told this. My guess is they weren't going to call us at all. So there we were, with a 10 week old baby and no choice but to stay in a hotel for another night. AT OUR EXPENSE.
On Tuesday (20/12) morning I did receive a call at 7:30 saying that they would be at the house in an hour. My husband met them at the property and they arrived at the time they said they would, unpacked our stuff and left,
Upon inspection both our coffee table and daughters bookshelf were broken. The removalist then returned as they had forgotten to give us the legs for our bed. He looked at the damaged goods as my husband asked him about them. He told us your company would offer us $50 compensation as we did not pay for insurance. $50 is pathetic for a $500 coffee table and a $200 bookshelf.
After one final inspection of everything, we also discovered that the removalist FORGOT our $180 vacuum cleaner - which was with the rest of our belongings and was included in the quote. This has now had to be removed from the property as rubbish.
At minimum, I am seeking compensation for the extra accommodation we paid for, our vacuum cleaner and the price we were charged in the quote for moving this, plus $500 for the inconvenience and stress.
I hope we are able to come to an agreeable resolution, or I will have no choice but to take this further and make my disappointment known via social media.
Please reply to my email (so I have everything in writing) by 5PM Friday 23/12/16.
