This has now cost almost as much as the new product. I would recommend putting the money into a better brand.

Buyer beware - poor quality switch – Good looking rangehood with good lighting and powerful fan when working. However the control switch is of very poor quality and continuously breaks. It's the fourth time that this part will be replaced in 6 years at approximately $100 per switch. Not happy as I could have bought better quality rangehood for the total amount that I have now spent.

very good product – bought the package ,don't use the oven very often but cooktop & canopy used every day, no problems with any,until yesterday when a light globe went ,can you believe I only got 8 years !!! out of these products before the first minor problem so its 5stars for baumatic . from me. I've made and installed hundreds of kitchens and seen how people treat these products.

absolute waste of money.. will never buy Diplomat again – Switch broken again!!.. Going by the reviews on this page it seems to be a common fault, Looking at buying a new extractor hood from a reputable company. I would advise anyone thinking of buying a new extractor hood to avoid Diplomat. A replacement switch costs more than a new extractor.. what a joke!!

Oval button $168 broken AGAIN after 7 months – We had to replace the oval button last year which cost $168, and it's broken again only 7 months later. Not happy Jan. Seems to be a very weak, thin, catch on the plastic capsule holding the push buttons, so when you press the button the capsule catch snaps, rendering the whole piece useless. $168 to replace with another dodgy button. Looking at getting a new rangehood, this is not the quality you'd expect from Baumatic.

Oval button panel costs more than range hood – Had range hood for 4 years and had the button panel replaced twice under warranty, broke again a year ago and painstakingly repaired it with super glue. Tried not to use it everytime I used range but it broke again, just looked up the part and I can buy a new model range hood for the same price as the part, will not buy again thank you Baumatic!

Very powerful rangehood – I have had this rangehood for about 3 months from brand new and I have found it really good! I the buttons are out of the way for the steam to get in it - unlike some others I haven't found an issue with yet. The stainless steel cover over the aluminium filters is pretty good for cleaning. For me I like it because it works. Works well - stainless steel filter cover design is easy to clean.

Horrible – We had this range hood, replaced under warranty. Took 6 months to get it replaced, 16 phone calls to Think appliances who handle warranty claims, hours spent on hold. they didn't have a service provider. I live 30 minutes from the gold coast airport. Installation left big scrapes and dents in my kitchen wall that required fixing and repainting, not ideal in a 12 month old freshly painted house. Looked nice Didn't work

fan & light panel is useless – Press the above buttons for light or fan & they stay depressed as the retaining 1mm plastic pins are far too fragile so the buttons collapse into the chip console. Unhappy customer unit broke within 3 weeks use Fan & light out of action
