Baumr Buyer BEWARE (FAIL) – unfortunately, i have bought a Baumr 280SX a few years ago and the component connecting the drive cable to the drive mechanism has failed upon inspection, the problem was the POOR QUALITY material used in manufacturing (proof - see pics) the use of inferior quality alloy in the critical component - that upon breaking renders the machine useless -instead of using high grade steel in that tiny part is surprising and extremely disappointing "German Engineered" ... maybe ... but clearly NOT German made yes, the mower was not particularly expensive - did i get value for money? ... doubtful especially disappointing is that the fault could have easily been avoided for the cost of about 50 cents more at the time of manufacture - that is the frustrating part (the saving of less than $1 by the manufacturer means i wasted $100's and a bunch of time) ... moreover, the piece that broke is screwed into place during assembly ... FFS Baumr it would have been EASY to use a decent piece of steel ... very disappointing
there were a couple of other pooorly made / assembled components the pull start cord broke very early on (but i overcame that) ... and the place the catcher sits is weak and becomes displaced pretty early on as well (again, not critical but indicative of sub-standard manufacturing, design and materials
... and the irony - the catcher is excellent build something that is usually an afterthought with mower manufacturers and Beumr got that bit right pity i dont have a mower that works that i can connect it to (might make a nice nesting box for the chickens)

Tough and reliable – I have found the mower to be easy to start (starts first time) and able to handle some pretty uneven ground. Part of my block has quite a slope - the self-propelled option makes it far easier to get up the hill. It seems to cut the grass well, with good mulch and catching options. The only difficulty i've had has been self inflicted ... using old and bad fuel with (apparently) some water in it which fouled the carburetor. Self-propelled mowers can be very expensive, so this has been a good, inexpensive option. I understand that spare parts can be hard to come by if needed - but I haven't needed any so far. The handle is quite annoying to completely fold it up, but i've found that to be the case with most mowers.

DO NOT BUY THIS – Only had a few months. Now will not start. Always difficult to start. If you buy this you will waste your time and your money. The seller Edisons has spent their time continually making it impossible to return unless it is at my cost. Faulty rubbish. Do not buy any of Baum AG mowers. Both my Chromebook and my android phone tell me not to go to their website. Edisons are a waste of space..never buy from them unless you want to waste your money.

Dont buy it ! – Will not cut on lowest setting without frame getting stuck on ground. If grass is long and on higher setting frame gets stuck on grass and is hard to push even though it is self propelled. If grass is wet it clogs up quickly and stalls motor which is hard to restart. Overall not happy.
