Baumr-AG SX25
Verified1 review
Baum-AG SX25 chainsaw – This is a small 25cc/10" bar, top handle climbing saw. It was pretty cheap but did a good job of cutting small branches and logs until 11/02/23. The saw just stopped and I couldn't restart it. On closer inspection the fuel line was ruptured for no apparent reason. I had spare fuel line from my old Victa mower so "no problem" ( or so I thought). To remove the carby from it's plastic housing in order to replace the fuel line has been a nightmare. I'm reasonably competent with 2-stroke machinery but this little 'blighter' has me beat. It should be very easy and straightforward but it isn't. I've had to leave the fuel line in place and perform a "Dodgy Brothers" patch job. Like most Chinese items the quality is appalling ie you get what you pay for. Yesterday (14/2/23) I took it to R&A Chainsaws at Lithgow and Rod told me it is not the fault of the chainsaw but of the quality of Aussie petrol which 'eats' fuel lines which then develop pinholes. He is going to replace the fuel line with higher quality line(s).
Purchased for $130.
Problem is being resolved by R&A Chainsaws in Lithgow. As mentioned in my post Rod said the issue of the pinhole in the fuel line is more than likely because of poor quality Australian petrol. I assume he is going to replace the fuel lines with a different material. I'll let you know how it goes when I get the saw back. I've got two other old Baum-AG saws, a 52cc(2007) and a 64cc saw ( ? a gift) which have have given me no problems to date. I like the little 25cc climbing saw because it has been reliable and it is so light compared to my professional saws. I don''t know who mytopia is but I presume you are writing on behalf of Edisons.

R and A Chainsaws at Lithgow have repaired/replaced the fuel lines and it is now the "little ripper" of a saw that it was previously. It's no 200t (36cc) but it is much lighter and 'does the job'. Corey is a terrific mechanic and an all-round nice bloke.
