Stay away from Bay Sports. Here is some photos and video of my Kayak I paid in full last April and didn’t receive my Kayak until late October after constant promises it was on its way. First paddle the seat fell off. I contacted customer service… Read more
officer [Name Removed] and she told me that there was a problem with the glue and she was waiting on a shipment of a container so she could send me the new glue ( I’m guessing it’s so I can fix it myself). After months of empty promises I bought some high strength glue from Bunnings and fixed the seat myself. On my first full paddle almost 12 months after paying for the kayak I noticed a lot of water in the kayak. Turns out the top of the kayak is not properly attached to the bottom (see video) and there doesn’t appear to be any glue at all on the outside just a bit of tape covering the join, the inside has some sort of rubber which I can only guess it is the one thing stopping the kayak from falling apart completely. I have saved all my emails to Bay Sports and there are plenty of them, I have now taken this up with NSW Fair Trading. Wish me luck. If you want just try contacting Bay Sports either by phone or email and you’ll see what I mean. Appears there a quite a lot of people on Facebook in a worse situation than me. Best advice I can offer is for anyone reading this to stay away from Bay Sports if you haven’t already spent your hard earned money and tell anyone and everyone what type of company they are, but if you’ve already paid this hoax of a company do as I am doing and contact NSW Fair Trading. I’ll keep everyone updated on how I go
Follow-up · Still waiting on a Fair Trading representative to contact me regarding Bay Sports. They have sent me an email to say they have received my complaint, but the waiting list is approximately 10 weeks, so as soon as I talk to one of their representatives I’ll update this post.
BE WARNED! Poor quality materials and manufacturing had the hatch cover of the kayak rusting within weeks. Numerous emails, broken promises of replacement and unanswered calls since May 2025 have continued. After nearly 12 months of frustration this… Read more
ongoing behaviour seems very dodgy and causes me to suspect they may be struggling or going out of business. I have given up on looking for a replacement and asked for a refund, which has also been ignored.
Follow-up · Never received any answer to my numerous emails. No answer to any of their listed phone numbers, and no reply to any messages that were left. I suspect that the business has failed/closed and there are no staff or office admin left.
Another negative experience. Wish I had looked at product review prior to purchase. Purchased 3 kids hats in Feb that weren’t in stock. Had an email to say that stock expected early March. No contact since then and no reply to email. Have tried to lodge an enquiry online but need to be able to log in to do this and no way to create a log in! I had… Read more
ordered from this same company in 2023 and received the product but maybe it has changed hands. Also most of the links on the website for contacts seem to be broken.
Numerous calls and emails and no reply. This has to be a scam website. Someone needs to do something about it. Screw em. Show details
Ordered my wife’s Christmas present in mid December on express delivery for our Jan boating holiday and now on the 5 Jan I’m trying to get someone to talk to me. Don’t do it - go somewhere else - this is most likely not a real website. Or give it a go you might be luckier than me. Maybe they’ll answer an email or give a refund. Good luck coz I haven’t had any. Oh Gosh! They make it just about impossible to lodge anything negative. Show details
Bay Sports - you have been warned! – Mid-June I made a phone inquiry as to the waiting time (back order) for the new modular tandem kayak from Bay Sports. I was told about 4 weeks/mid July. I ordered same & paid in full. I do note the confirmation email actually advised an end of July delivery (?) First flag. Come the end of July I contacted Bay Sports - “Guys, where’s my kayak?”… Read more
“Ahhh…sorry, may arrive in August!” Guys, where’s my kayak?” “Ahh…nope, you may get it in September!” “Guys, where’s my kayak? “Ahhh…quite possibly coming in October or maybe November”?
[Content Removed]!? Seriously? Enough is enough. I have cancelled my order and received a full refund. For those contemplating dealing with Bay Sports here are the facts:
I was never, not on a one single occasion contacted by Bay Sports for an update or to advise any developments or delays.I had to follow them up each time a “delivery time” evaporated. I was simply lied to. On August 27 I sent another email requesting a delivery update. I had a prompt response advising my kayak would arrive in two weeks/mid September. Fabulous! I did note, however, that their website said the next shipment was due mid to late October. Of course there was no kayak, no delivery.
It was simply another bit of spin to keep the customer happy, whilst the production/supply and shipment scenarios played out in the background.
I contacted Bay Sports yet again, “where’s my kayak?” and this time I was given a delivery date of 4 October. Again, I note the website states the next shipment will arrive mid to late October, so still nothing is correlating. I would suggest that the October “delivery” will also prove elusive.
So, for anyone, contemplating a purchase via backorder with this company, you have been warned…no customer service, no explanations and ultimately after waiting several months, no kayak. Imagine dealing with a company where a 4 week lead in turns into 4 months with not a single contact? Dodgy!
