Disposable Dishwasher from Beko........ I regret purchasing this dishwasher, and I am beyond frustrated with its design flaws. First and foremost, the huge, needless opening at the bottom of the unit is a design disaster! It's an open invitation for insects and rodents to enter the machine and make themselves at home while dining on gourmet… Read more
rubber components.
On top of that, spare parts are outrageously expensive and impossible to find. When something inevitably goes wrong with the unit (as it does with poorly designed products), you’ll find yourself stuck with an unrepairable appliance unless you’re willing to spend a small fortune for parts.
This dishwasher is completely unfit for purpose. I would never recommend it to anyone, and I certainly won’t be making another purchase from this brand. If you're looking for reliability, functionality, and peace of mind, look elsewhere!
This dishwasher does not work. Dishes are rarely clean despite using most intense cycles. Control panel is unpredictable and it’s not simple even to select a cycle and start the machine (timed pushing on selection buttons or something but seem incapable of getting the timing right and often walk away thinking it has started when it hasn’t).… Read more
Everything is always wet at the end of a cycle despite using rinse aid and not once has all the cutlery been clean. Rang the supplier 4 weeks after getting this machine but unfortunately you can’t return a dishwasher that has been installed even though I offered to pay more to upgrade to a different machine. Can’t work out why there are so many positive reviews on appliance supplier pages - maybe I just got a dud.
Worst product ever! – 5 times on different setting since purchase on Wednesday, had to take dishes out and hand wash, have checked everything and tried every setting using finish tablets, $650 wasted on a crap machine! I just wanted something that worked but apparently that's too hard to get these days! DONT BUY THIS BRAND!!!!!! Show details
3rd time it has broken in 5 years – Has broken 3 times in less than 5 years. 2 weeks to get it fixed each time. I'm glad they are fixing it, but my Bosh series 2 that cost about the same has not had 1 issue in 10 years. With 3 kids, as well as groups of people in the home, it has been very inconvenient to have it break every second year for 2 weeks at a time. Now 1 week into… Read more
waiting for it to be fixed, with 1-2 weeks left to wait. I called Beko today to ask if they would replace the unit or refund, so that we can get up and running today instead of in 1-2 weeks. The support person said they would not do that. Apparently, breaking 3 times in 5 years is not a sign of a faulty unit, its just par for the course, so normal procedures apply.
Disappointing dishwasher and lack of informed support – I actually purchased a BDF1420 and the fact it doesn’t appear on the above list supports my review. The manual SPECIFICALLY for the BDF1420 that arrived with the machine, gives reasonable instructions, but says that several of the functions only apply to some models but DOESN'T TELL YOU WHICH MODEL!! So I spent hours with the Beko support fellow… Read more
who insisted the auto door function could be accessed through the menu or that the door was stuck shut. I endured several phone calls, 7 emails, sent photos and videos, terse words and a circular conversation trying to guide me on a function the machine didn’t have. So, in short I bought a machine that doesn’t automatically open the door when finished its cycle and therefore doesn’t dry the dishes. Both Beko and the retailer feel this is reasonable because, as the manual for the BDG1420 says ‘only applies to some models’. To conclude the whole debarkle, the issue was referred to a service centre in Naracootte SA while I am Victoria
Simple and effective at a great price. Happy Beko buyers here! – We bought our seven-year old, previously rented house with a Beko dishwasher installed in the kitchen and happily used the appliance for an additional three years. All good until the day our young son jumped on the dishwasher door while it was open. Must've been attracted to the shiny, stainless steel lining, eh? We tried another leading brand,… Read more
second-hand, and that proved to be a big mistake so it was back to Beko for several hundreds less than the least expensive offering from the market leader, which doesn’t rate any better than these much more affordable Bekos.
We are even more impressed with our new Beko than we were with the old one. The build seems to be of good quality, and we know from our previous Beko that they are reliable machines that perform well – better than the dish-drawers we’ve used, that's for sure. The BDF1410W is a compact, free-standing dishwasher that is easily connected to an under-sink tap, drain and power socket. It’s diminutive size requires that the upper shelving basket be raised to its higher position to make room for full-sized plates on the lower basket but still leaves room on the upper basket to stand cups and glasses.
The Beko BDF1410W is easy to use with six user-selectable washing programs. There's an “Eco mode” that uses less electricity and water; an “Intensive Cleaning" mode for heavily soiled dishes, pots and pans. There’s a “Clean and Shine” program for medium-soiled dishes and a “Quick and Shine” mode for a one-hour clean of medium soiled dishes. There’s a “Delicate” cycle for washing China and glassware and a half-hour “Mini” cycle for dishes that are lightly soiled or pre-washed and merely require a final rinse and polish.
This variety of programs is amazingly effective and adequate for all our needs, whether it’s the good dining set, everyday common washing-up of plates and cups, or saucepans and oven trays after a dinner party. Another special function of this dishwasher is the ability to wash a half-load, which saves electricity, time and of course, our precious water when there aren't many dishes to wash. This Beko dishwasher also has a timed delay function that enables washing to start when electricity tariffs are more favourable.
Best of all are the final, amazing results we get with our Beko BDF1410W. We have used other brand dishwashers such as Westinghouse, Fisher & Paykel and even a generic, 'no name' machine. The Bekos have produced the best results for us: clean plates that don’t need to be rewashed, even when using the economy cycle to save time, water and money. The BDF1410W retails for between $500—$600, with the white one typically selling for about $50 less than the metallic ‘silver’ coloured variant. This is our favourite dishwasher to date and we’re counting on it lasting a long time, like the Beko that was originally installed in our house. We're on a good thing here, and we reckon you can’t do better at the budget end of the market.
Biggest pile of crap ever – Bought about 8m ago.. had nothing but problems Wont clean plates properly even after we scrap & rinse as advised by tech to do before washing.. have cleaned filters every few uses. Cleaned out arms.. tried many dw tablets/powders.... this really sux.. avoid like the plague Show details
Poor aftersales service from Beko – Hi Beko Your repairer finally got here at 6.30pm and it took him 3 minutes to fix the problem. Less than 3 minutes. He said that it was the most common problem. $170 for 3 minutes. YOUR TROUBLE-SHOOTING PAPERS COULD HAVE EASILY ALERTED US TO THIS ISSUE AND WE COULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM EASILY). Three minutes work for $170 – Beko needs to find a… Read more
more reasonably priced repairer. As for me – with several new Beko products – don’t hold your breath waiting for me to ever buy another Beko product. Adding $170 to the cost of your dishwasher makes it a very expensive product and if the service and advice that I didn’t get from Beko this time is typical of your level of after-sales-service then who would ever want to buy a Beko ?
Not a good quality dishwasher – I bought my Beko dishwasher 5 years ago. During the 5 year period I had it, I didn't have any performance issues. However, just after 5 years, the motor blew and the control module went at the same time. I called an independent technician out to have a look to see if it was worth saving. But it wasn't. I won't be buying any Beko products again, to… Read more
say the least. The machines overall are not good quality. The upper basket was very clunky and did not roll in and out smoothly. The technician said parts take 2 to 3 months to arrive. I was told Beko is big in Europe. Not sure why, they don't last.
Excellent value for money! – I'm so happy with this dishwasher. It cleans just as well, if not better, than far more expensive models. It's simple to use and cleans and dries well on every cycle. I don't need to rinse my dishes before putting them in, it gets all the gunk off by itself. The layout is great and you can get quite a lot of dishes in. As a bonus, it's also pretty quiet. Very satisfied customer – Works a treat, washes perfectly, everything comes out clean, dry and sparkling. Functional design of baskets and very quiet when operating. Plus has a good warranty and provides real value for money. Show details
Not so disappointing dishwasher – My original review (below and in inverted commas) was incorrect because I did no fully read the manual. With the help of Appliance Online I found out that I could raise the top tray. All my dishes now fit and I have no complaints about this dishwasher. The trays still require a little 're-learning' compared to how I was able the place my crockery… Read more · 1
in my last diswasher but that is more of a 'me thing' than the dishwasher. The cutlery basket is good.
"This dishwasher works well BUT my Noritake dinner plates are just a bit too big for it, they are just big enough to stop the dishwasher arm from rotating. This is VERY disappointing and something I had not even considered because they have been OK for all previous dishwashers. There does not seem to be any type of adjustment available to lower the bottom tray or raise the rotating arm above the lower tray."
I will never buy any Beku product after this experience – This review is about the Beku customer service and after sale issues. I will urge the aussie people to never buy anything from them because they don't have any tech staff in Australia, Beku tech staff comes from overseas so if your appliance needs fixing you will have to wait until the border opens and that's really stupid. Bought a dishwasher and… Read more
had an electrical malfunction after a month (it's pretty unusual for an appliance but its life anything can happen) I rang them and was assigned a job number, rang the local company who was supposed to fix Beku dishwasher and they said they can't fix it until the border opens because the tech guy will come from overseas, asked Beku to change the company so that I can get it fixed urgently, they gave me a reference number on Friday and said the newly assigned company will be in contact, no one got in contact so I rang them later in day they said they didn't receive any job from Beku since Beku is in Eastern States so their office times are 8 to 5 AEST, I had to wait until Monday, no one got in contact until Tuesday and on Tuesday whole day when no one bothered enough to contact; I had to ring Beku again to check if everything is ok and the they said they are assigning the service now, WTH? then what did you do on Friday, sorry we can't tell you because we don't have any idea who spoke to you on Friday from BEKU, so nothing we can do here just sit tight and you will be contacted by the tech company. Honestly I will wait until another week and then I am throwing this machine on road and buy a some good brand because in a household of 4 you cant wash so many dishes, pots and cutlery specially with arthritis and tennis elbow. Anyways thats my rant, I will remember the name Beku and I am never buying anything with the name Beku again. Thank you Beku there is a reason I don't buy unknown brand names, I did this experiment for the first time and you proved me right again that you get what you paid for.
Find out how Beko BDF1410W (White) compares to other Freestanding Dishwashers
Know better, choose better.
Impressive! – Our Beko BDF1410W replaced our old Dishlex. We've now been using it daily for two weeks and I'm impressed. It was a bit like you've been driving an old Falcon then step into a Lexus. It was a entry level (price-wise) dishwasher but it felt like quality. Compared to the Dishlex, the click of the door closing, the way the drawers rolled, the… Read more
way the fold down plate racks folded - felt better. The layout is also better with top tray options for long knives and a floating cutlery box. The manual tells you how long each program takes and how much energy it uses which is useful. The menu isn't as easy to use and has had me reaching for the manual a couple of times and if it remembered the program you used last it would save two button presses however that's not enough to detract even a half star. I love it. Background: I do rinse/scrape but only enough so that scraps etc which won't fit through the filter don't end up sitting in the filter flavouring your wash and rinse cycles. Our dishwasher gets used once/day. I use the delay to take advantage of 1/2 price after hours electricity (according to our energy provider).
Turned out to be beyond my modest expectations – Our 10yo Ficher&Paykel dishwasher died on one day, so we got used to live with a dishwasher and couldn't even imagine how we were going to survive arguing whose turn to wash manually. Anyway, long story short, we set a budget to ~$1000 and started doing our homework browsing dishwashers, we found some Bosch and Westinghouse models as a… Read more
replacement. What we did forget to do is to check their availability in the nearest stores. We wanted to buy immideately (it was 24/12), so suddenly all our pre-selected $1000-ish models were out of stock and I am a too lazy person to travel 50km for a dishwasher, so I decided to play a cheapskate card and take a risk with Beko for $549 available in the nearest JB Hi-Fi. I bought it in the afternoon on 24/12, brought it home, installed (it fits perfectly), connected all hoses and we have been enjoying it since then. Pros: - Quiet; - Cleans Perfectly; - allegedly 5y warranty and 10y warranty on the motor (not sure that it will work though in the real world); - adjustable top tray.
Cons: - The screen is useless, like from 1993: non-infirmative and ugly. No more cons from top of my head.
2 years Update. - believe me or not, our Beko is still going strong like new.
Best value, efficient dishwasher – Best dishwasher! So quiet and very efficient. I’ve been using program 4 and it’s done in an hour! Love that the cutlery basket can be moved to different spots by sliding across. Dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans all washed and dried superbly! And the extended warranty is fabulous- a real security blanket. Have recommended Beko to my friends and family. Show details
