The dishwasher is working ok, but then we always rinse the dishes completely. The problem is that the marketing says the capacity is 14 place settings. Yes maybe, if they’re doll sized. For adult sized china settings, on the left side you can load saucers or you can load cups but not both unless you’re happy to split the row into half cups and… Read more
half saucers. Definitely not 14 of each. On the right side glasses need to be fairly short because if they’re taller tumblers or wine glasses, they will tip over. So on the right side, again you can load either saucers or glassware but not both, and there’s a 3” aisle between the rows where you could load long handled utensils but nothing else. Just not a good use of space.
- +1
We have had one of these in our Rental property for a bit over year (we rent, this model was not our choice – would have bought a more known brand if it were our choice). Pros - It's stainless steel so looks ok. - Washes great on the intensive setting - the other settings can be pretty hit and miss. Generally good enough. - has features like… Read more
adjustable rack, allegedly low power and water consumption according to the stickers - Has bits of the racks that flip down when needing to fit different shapes - this genuinely is useful. - Cutlery holder can be positioned in various locations which is useful when fitting different loads - Reasonably quiet in operation. It's not as quiet as a Bosch or Miele but certainly reasonable. - 5 year warranty with a local call centre. Work is subcontracted to local companies. - easy to use - Filter is easy to clean
Cons - The design of the dish rack is 90 degrees wrong - Ie you open or close the drawer, the plates can roll out of their position. - If the top rack is in the lower position, you can't fit plates. When the rack is in the upper position, you encounter problems with glasses, particularly stemmed ones. The dual position design takes up a lot of space so there is no room for normal sized chopping boards to fit - If you do need to call Beko because the dishwasher stopped working, The service visit takes weeks. - Subcontracting service company may well not be very good.
As a cheapish dishwasher goes, It is probably 3-4 stars worth of dishwasher for function. Ok for the price but lacking the finesse of a nice Bosch or Miele. Up until we had a problem I'd been considering writing a 4 star review.
But then the secondary function of the machine we had the joy of discovering when the wash pump stopped working. Machine would fill, stop filling but no wash pump. After the run time would then drain normally. Put in a call thinking the 1.75 year old machine was under the 5 year warranty.
Roll on a 2.5 weeks of washing dishes by hand, the Beko technician came. Walks in saying he "knows what is wrong with machines just by listening to them." Leave him to it and continue working.
About 10 minutes after arrival, he calls out to say he's finished and is about to leave. Thinking "great that was fast", he then followed with ‘it's not fixed and there are big problems’.
Then stated "It can't be even be fixed and the warranty is void". Thinking to myself "What the….!?? It's a machine surely it can be fixed"
Pressed for more detail as to why a newish machine wouldn’t be covered under warranty, he said it was ‘infested with Cockroaches' adding that 'most people don't know they have Cockroaches in their machine' and then scurried out the door. Here for may be 15 minutes.
We hadn't seen any Cockroaches or even evidence of Cockroaches for many, many months. Apart from being annoyed at being stuck with a dishwasher still not working, had a gut feeling this wasn’t the full story.
Unsurprisingly, as any rational person does upon hearing the words 'Cockroach' and 'infestation', we scoured the house afterwards to see if there were any elsewhere. Zero in the cupboards in the kitchen, Nor the fridge, nor microwave. Zero in the laundry. Zero in the bathrooms or wardrobes. A couple of rather old looking and very dead ones in the garage. The good news was, at least they appear to be contained to a single spot - that dishwasher. That truly was good new because it is a pain treating an actual infestation. Time for a closer look at the so called 'infested' machine itself.
Flipping the machine onto it’s side, and straight away the mystery on how the Cockroaches got in there is obvious.
Kid you not - there is an 8cm x 50cm opening (See photo) directly into where the pump and other electronics are. You can literally poke your hand in that hole and touch electrical cables and a pump with your fingers! Given there is 240 volts in there make sure to first disconnect the machine from power if looking for yourself.
Opened the access cover, because hey if the warranty is void already, nothing left to harm. Sure enough 2 dead large cockroaches and 1 large live one some evidence of poo. No visible egg sacks, babies, no nest of lots of them scurrying around - There but hardly what I had envisioned the 'infestation' to be given the technicials comments.
Then noticed another poor design choice…..
There is literally a food source for cockroaches to eat - in the form of the float foam/polystyrene used for the leak detector sensor. (see photo of nibbled float). Cockroaches seem to like eating polystyrene for some reason - been known since the 1950's.
So this design has: -A hidden-from-human sight, large opening straight into a secluded area where the sensitive electrics for critters to get in, no challenge at all. -Warmth, -Shelter, -Probably enough water from humidity condensation after the heat cycle when in use. -and a food source...
Beko have managed to build the perfect self sufficient 5 star Hotel for Cockroaches and didn't put the fence up.
Because the Roaches don’t need to forage they won’t eat any of the existing preventative bait you’ve placed around the place - nor will you see them running because they don't need to run.
No wonder the Beko tech who works on these week in week out said 'people didn’t know they had them'.
A quick internet search shows we are not alone. One reviewer even had a mouse get in and eat rubber bits which given you can fit most of your hand in that gap while shocking, hardly a surprise.
Anyway, roll on another 2 ish weeks of hand washing dishes later the Beko Tech issued a $100+ visitation invoice along with a 2 option repair quote. Option 1 for comfortably over $1000+ (about double the machines retail cost) to replace a long list of parts - mostly unrelated to the problem of the circulation pump not working. I guess that is what you do when you want to cover your bases and not actually test things on site.
Or Option B the 'more paletable option' another new installed one for just under $1000 (Same machine but new with the same inherant design flaw - no thank you)!
As tenants it had now become our responsibility as the the word 'infestation' was used.
We got a second opinion from an excellent local appliance repair place that works on lots of brands.
The helpful bloke laughed sympathecically when mentioned that we'd been told by Beko that it was unrepairable. He said 'Sadly he hears of similar BS stories from various companies from time to time.
Anyway, a quick test confirmed there was a blown circulation pump motor. Everything else tested fine. 2 days later a new pump and a hose clamp were installed at a cost about $300. Photo of broken pump attached.. Yay! At least we have a working dishwasher again (hurray) in space of just 2 days from enquiry.
Also mentioned looking at the removed blown motor that it "probably wasn't" caused by cockroaches given there was quite a bit sticky black sludge found inside the pump side on the impeller shaft that is symptomatic of when a seal begins to fail. Anyway hard to say.
The whole experience with Beko and subcontract Tech company raises many questions, thoughts and takeaways in ones mind. Some of those include the following in no particular order:
1. I can't help but feeling that if there was a cover there in the first place, none of this would have happened. Sure, the pump probably would have broken anyway, but it improbable that any cockroaches would have gotten in there and therefore it would have been fixed using the warranty. This review would have been be a very different glowing review.
2. Voiding the prominently displayed and advertised 5 year warranty used to generate sales interest for an actual cockroach infestation is fair enough.... but That operates on the assumption (some would say fair play) that the design is fit-for-purpose for the typical installation enviroment (in this case kitchens).
3. Designing fit-for-purpose machines one needs to consider the typical use environment. Hint Google "Common pests found in kitchens", anything on that list probably needs either an entry prevention or more durable electronics design solution. If you aren't prepared to do that, take down the 5 year warranty as it is false advertising.
4. What is the Beko threshold for ‘infestation’? No one seems to know. My guess is that it's up to the subcontracted Beko Technicians own definition and feelings on the day.
5. Is it a legitimate 'infestation' when there are only a few large, mostly dead ones contained to one machine in a property? Is it actually an infestation if there aren't any visible babies or other breeding cycle stage ones in line with a normal infestation?
6. Beko end users - if you get a huge repair quote from Beko subcontractor tech company and/or told your machine is "unrepairable"- Take the time and get a second opinion from an independent - it will likely save you a lot of money and prevent more white good waste.
(I do wonder how many people just relent and accept their offer to buy the marked up version of the same machine again just to have a functioning dishwasher again? )
7. A general point for everyone reading this far and in the market for a new dishwasher (or any floor mount machine for that matter) - go into a showroom and ask to see the underside of the machine before buying one. If it has a wide open entrance there, buy a different one. It's not worth the hassle to discover the warranty is useless later on.
Disposable Dishwasher from Beko........ I regret purchasing this dishwasher, and I am beyond frustrated with its design flaws. First and foremost, the huge, needless opening at the bottom of the unit is a design disaster! It's an open invitation for insects and rodents to enter the machine and make themselves at home while dining on gourmet… Read more
rubber components.
On top of that, spare parts are outrageously expensive and impossible to find. When something inevitably goes wrong with the unit (as it does with poorly designed products), you’ll find yourself stuck with an unrepairable appliance unless you’re willing to spend a small fortune for parts.
This dishwasher is completely unfit for purpose. I would never recommend it to anyone, and I certainly won’t be making another purchase from this brand. If you're looking for reliability, functionality, and peace of mind, look elsewhere!

Worst product ever! – 5 times on different setting since purchase on Wednesday, had to take dishes out and hand wash, have checked everything and tried every setting using finish tablets, $650 wasted on a crap machine! I just wanted something that worked but apparently that's too hard to get these days! DONT BUY THIS BRAND!!!!!! Show details
Disappointing dishwasher and lack of informed support – I actually purchased a BDF1420 and the fact it doesn’t appear on the above list supports my review. The manual SPECIFICALLY for the BDF1420 that arrived with the machine, gives reasonable instructions, but says that several of the functions only apply to some models but DOESN'T TELL YOU WHICH MODEL!! So I spent hours with the Beko support fellow… Read more
who insisted the auto door function could be accessed through the menu or that the door was stuck shut. I endured several phone calls, 7 emails, sent photos and videos, terse words and a circular conversation trying to guide me on a function the machine didn’t have. So, in short I bought a machine that doesn’t automatically open the door when finished its cycle and therefore doesn’t dry the dishes. Both Beko and the retailer feel this is reasonable because, as the manual for the BDG1420 says ‘only applies to some models’. To conclude the whole debarkle, the issue was referred to a service centre in Naracootte SA while I am Victoria

Simple and effective at a great price. Happy Beko buyers here! – We bought our seven-year old, previously rented house with a Beko dishwasher installed in the kitchen and happily used the appliance for an additional three years. All good until the day our young son jumped on the dishwasher door while it was open. Must've been attracted to the shiny, stainless steel lining, eh? We tried another leading brand,… Read more
second-hand, and that proved to be a big mistake so it was back to Beko for several hundreds less than the least expensive offering from the market leader, which doesn’t rate any better than these much more affordable Bekos.
We are even more impressed with our new Beko than we were with the old one. The build seems to be of good quality, and we know from our previous Beko that they are reliable machines that perform well – better than the dish-drawers we’ve used, that's for sure. The BDF1410W is a compact, free-standing dishwasher that is easily connected to an under-sink tap, drain and power socket. It’s diminutive size requires that the upper shelving basket be raised to its higher position to make room for full-sized plates on the lower basket but still leaves room on the upper basket to stand cups and glasses.
The Beko BDF1410W is easy to use with six user-selectable washing programs. There's an “Eco mode” that uses less electricity and water; an “Intensive Cleaning" mode for heavily soiled dishes, pots and pans. There’s a “Clean and Shine” program for medium-soiled dishes and a “Quick and Shine” mode for a one-hour clean of medium soiled dishes. There’s a “Delicate” cycle for washing China and glassware and a half-hour “Mini” cycle for dishes that are lightly soiled or pre-washed and merely require a final rinse and polish.
This variety of programs is amazingly effective and adequate for all our needs, whether it’s the good dining set, everyday common washing-up of plates and cups, or saucepans and oven trays after a dinner party. Another special function of this dishwasher is the ability to wash a half-load, which saves electricity, time and of course, our precious water when there aren't many dishes to wash. This Beko dishwasher also has a timed delay function that enables washing to start when electricity tariffs are more favourable.
Best of all are the final, amazing results we get with our Beko BDF1410W. We have used other brand dishwashers such as Westinghouse, Fisher & Paykel and even a generic, 'no name' machine. The Bekos have produced the best results for us: clean plates that don’t need to be rewashed, even when using the economy cycle to save time, water and money. The BDF1410W retails for between $500—$600, with the white one typically selling for about $50 less than the metallic ‘silver’ coloured variant. This is our favourite dishwasher to date and we’re counting on it lasting a long time, like the Beko that was originally installed in our house. We're on a good thing here, and we reckon you can’t do better at the budget end of the market.
Very impressive one year later – Having owned a faithful Beko front-loader in the laundry for well over a decade, it didn't take much to steer me back towards Beko. I did my due dilligence with reviews and specs and comparisons, which put the BDF1410X in a favourable light. It didn't hurt that the price was amazing. One year later, and it has been a joy. I thought I might miss… Read more
having a countdown timer, but I don't. It just doesn't matter much. I pack the poor machine to the rafters, and still it cleans beautifully. It's quiet enough. The P4 cycle is fast, and does a great job. I use it when the afternoon is wearing on and we're losing solar power fast. The P1 eco cycle does an even better job on problem dishes, uses less power overall, but takes its sweet time. I use it when the afternoon is still young!
We use Aldi platinum dishwasher tablets, which do a great job for a fraction of the price. One problem I solved early on was random loads on the fast cycle that failed to clean properly. Every so often we'd open the door after a wash, and some of the dishes would still be slimy and filthy. I worked out that it was because the dishwasher tablet was dropping into the cutlery basket, where it didn't have enough time or exposure to hot water to disintegrate during the wash part of the cycle. This would be less of an issue with the normal, longer, wash options (P1-P3). Anyway, the answer was to keep the basket out of the tablet compartment's firing range. I now tend to keep the basket over on the right hand side of the machine. No more problem.
Another thing I've discovered is that if you happen to be around when the last rince cycle finishes, you can open the front door, turn the machine off, give the top drawer a shake to loosen any extra rinse water, and leave the door cracked open just a few inches to let out the steam. This saves a lengthy, power-hungry drying stage, and uses the retained heat to dry everything. Some plastic items might remain wet, but everything else dries quite well because even though you're not pumping power into it, you're compensating by giving the steam somewhere to go.
My only minor gripe is that the timer options are limited. Not an issue if you're washing overnight, but I'd sometimes like finer control for daytime use. Mostly, it's no biggie, and is nothing next to the performance, reliability, and cost experience we've had with Beko so far.
Cleans just as good as our old Bosch at half the price – Hadn’t heard of this brand before in Australia, so took a chance. Very very happy with it. Seems to have more basket depth inside than our previous Bosch (the tray runner welding failed) and the sliding cutlery tray is very convenient for fitting different things in. The fast program (just under an hour) cleans and dries everything and no… Read more
watermarks on wine glasses.
A couple of things to mention - we got the model with the cutlery tray at the top. We’ve taken it out because taller glasses/bowls couldn’t fit in the main top tray, even when adjusted to the lowest fitting. Although it’s a standard size, it wouldn’t fit under our bench top (replacing old dishwasher) so we had to take the top off the appliance to fit it under. Was relatively easy. But just make sure you have sufficient room, maybe 5mm extra.
Still - a dishwasher is there to stack heaps in it and wash well using minimal water and electricity, and this Beko dishwasher feels like quality and does it for half the price of a Bosch. Excellent value for money as we don’t need all the bells and whistles.

Best recommendation ever – Having used Dishlex for over 50 yrs we had to buy a new one and with Dishlex no longer made we were recommended Beko 1410X by Appliances online,04 we could not be happier and thoroughly recommend it as an excellent unit. Show details
Great dishwasher – My last dishwasher was a Bosch Series 6 which I found to be satisfactory but not great. as well. The machine noise is fairly quiet and about the same as the Bosch. The drying operation of the dishwasher is impressive, much better than the Bosch and everything comes out sparking, clean and dry. This dishwasher was on special at Bing Lee for $599, well worth the price paid and I highly recommend it as I am very pleased with its operation. Time has moved on and we have had our dishwasher for 3 months. This Beko dishwasher is still performing perfectly, and I cannot fault it in any way. The dishes come out perfectly clean every time. Thank you Beko.
Great buy, after sales service excellent – Bought the Beko 1410 in ss in November, 4months ago. It is so quiet compared to our old Dishlex. Cleans really well and dries the contents well too. Only complaint is its hard to read the display because it's too dark. After 4 months of use I noticed it wasn't drying so well anymore then it would drain and we could hear the water running but it… Read more
wasn't getting hot or actually washing. Rang Beko on Tuesday, a serviceman rang back same day and said he ordered a new heater and would phone to make a day to put it in after the part arrived. On thursday afternoon (2 days later) we got a phone call saying the part arrived and could he install it the next day. Friday morning the guy arrived, replaced the part and its back to working perfectly again. So happy with the aftersales service we received and so greatful that I chose a Beko.

This dishwasher does not work. Dishes are rarely clean despite using most intense cycles. Control panel is unpredictable and it’s not simple even to select a cycle and start the machine (timed pushing on selection buttons or something but seem incapable of getting the timing right and often walk away thinking it has started when it hasn’t).… Read more
Everything is always wet at the end of a cycle despite using rinse aid and not once has all the cutlery been clean. Rang the supplier 4 weeks after getting this machine but unfortunately you can’t return a dishwasher that has been installed even though I offered to pay more to upgrade to a different machine. Can’t work out why there are so many positive reviews on appliance supplier pages - maybe I just got a dud.
Really Really Bad – I have had 2 of these units and can say honestly you would be better off buying something more expensive. - Cleaning ability is really poor. Loads normally have to go through 2 cycles. For something whose primary job is washing dishes, just really really bad - The touch pad controls wear poorly and letters wipe off - I have had my pad… Read more

Does not last long enough – I got this product pre-installed with my property with the invoice. The product lasted less than 5 years per the invoice date. Product life - 4 years 10 months and Beko wasn't ready to honour 5 year warranty. Do not expect this product to last very long. You might as well spend twice as much on a BOSCH as you can expect it to last much longer and also get great service with it. Show details

3rd time it has broken in 5 years – Has broken 3 times in less than 5 years. 2 weeks to get it fixed each time. I'm glad they are fixing it, but my Bosh series 2 that cost about the same has not had 1 issue in 10 years. waiting for it to be fixed, with 1-2 weeks left to wait. I called Beko today to ask if they would replace the unit or refund, so that we can get up and running today instead of in 1-2 weeks. The support person said they would not do that. Apparently, breaking 3 times in 5 years is not a sign of a faulty unit, its just par for the course, so normal procedures apply.
Refund required – Do not get one! It is a complete lemon. Touch pad is inconsistent in its responses, it is very noisy with a high pitched squeal, dishes are not clean on any cycle and I can’t get hold of anyone to talk about it!!! Useless machine and poor service to follow up. Show details

more reasonably priced repairer. As for me – with several new Beko products – don’t hold your breath waiting for me to ever buy another Beko product. Adding $170 to the cost of your dishwasher makes it a very expensive product and if the service and advice that I didn’t get from Beko this time is typical of your level of after-sales-service then who would ever want to buy a Beko ?
Not a good quality dishwasher – I bought my Beko dishwasher 5 years ago. During the 5 year period I had it, I didn't have any performance issues. However, just after 5 years, the motor blew and the control module went at the same time. I called an independent technician out to have a look to see if it was worth saving. But it wasn't. say the least. The machines overall are not good quality. The upper basket was very clunky and did not roll in and out smoothly. The technician said parts take 2 to 3 months to arrive. I was told Beko is big in Europe. Not sure why, they don't last.
Excellent value for money! – I'm so happy with this dishwasher. It cleans just as well, if not better, than far more expensive models. It's simple to use and cleans and dries well on every cycle. I don't need to rinse my dishes before putting them in, it gets all the gunk off by itself. The layout is great and you can get quite a lot of dishes in. As a bonus, it's also pretty quiet. "This dishwasher works well BUT my Noritake dinner plates are just a bit too big for it, they are just big enough to stop the dishwasher arm from rotating. This is VERY disappointing and something I had not even considered because they have been OK for all previous dishwashers. There does not seem to be any type of adjustment available to lower the bottom tray or raise the rotating arm above the lower tray."

have a countdown display either, not a big issue but it was good to have so you could plan opening the door at the end of a cycle to assist drying. It doesn't have an upper cutlery drawer but the lower cutlery basket is satisfactory and can be moved around the lower drawer to help accommodate bigger items. Not having a dedicated cutlery drawer does make it more accommodating to taller items in the 2nd (upper drawer). I did want to purchase the higher end model but it was weeks / months away so as a compromise I am happy with this machine. If you are not in a rush consider the better models which are not a lot more expensive.
Overall I would suggest considering not just this model but the brand if you are looking for a machine under $1000, I hadn't really considered BEKO but it does look like there are many satisfied long term customers (not fake single reviews) on multiple review sites to draw upon. The additional factory warranty (5 years if registered online) is good too.

The menu isn't as easy to use and has had me reaching for the manual a couple of times and if it remembered the program you used last it would save two button presses however that's not enough to detract even a half star. I love it. Background: I do rinse/scrape but only enough so that scraps etc which won't fit through the filter don't end up sitting in the filter flavouring your wash and rinse cycles. Our dishwasher gets used once/day. I use the delay to take advantage of 1/2 price after hours electricity (according to our energy provider).
Excellent dishwasher – We bought this dishwasher around a month ago after our previous dishwasher suddenly died. We wanted something cost effective, as we may be renovating soon and including an integrated dishwasher in the design. The 59 minute cycle is usually all we need, and while it's not super quiet, it certainly isn't as loud as the last dishwasher we had, which came with the house when we purchased it (which, when I looked it up, was the same price point as this and died after only 3 years). It washes and dries brilliantly and the layout is great. I will seriously consider keeping it when we do the renovations.
Beko Dishwasher BDF1410X – We have our Beko BDF1410X for over a year now and we loving it. We bought it June 2020, right after we moved to our own place and we been using it pretty much twice a week. load up alot of plates and cutlery. The top part of it is for glasses, mugs and bowls while the bottom part is for plates and cutlery. You can choose up to 6 wash program for cleaning. With 3.5 star energy rating and 4 star water rating which is pretty good. We usually use it at night before we go to bed, it is quiet and it doesn't make that much noise. It clean the dishes pretty good and it dry up even in short cycle. Over all we enjoying our dishwasher and so happy with it.
5 years old now and faultless. Only fault is the lower cover which continually comes off so i just leave it off. Good cheap dishwasher. Show details
Don't touch it – Heap of crap, poor quality and even worse warranty. Wouldn't go near another one.
