What a shocker!! – Bought a cheapy which I now regret. A pain to put up and the elastic cord that joins the poles snapped and a pole split? Have camped for over 40 years and consider reasonably experienced with camping gear. Stay away from this dud
Bad product – I purchased one of these through Kogan my wife and I spent over 30 minutes trying to put it up we found it impossible it is not possible to be assembled by one person. I would not recommend this product to anyone it was not expensive so I suppose I got what I paid for. Show details
Not Really What it is Described as – This tent is marketed as a 'Pop Up', 'Shelter', 'Toilet' and 'Shower' tent and it is only one of those, a toilet tent. First of all, there is no way on Earth that this tent could be described as 'Pop Up'. It takes the best part of 30 minutes to erect and 20 minutes to pack away which also means that it is useless as a 'Shelter' unless it is… Read more
already erected. To be fair, you'd be better off wearing it as a jacket rather trying to erect it for shelter.
The tent is composed of a removable groundsheet, a tent body, two collapsible poles and 8 tent pegs. The tent pegs are so small and thin that you'd be better off using rocks to tie the guy lines to, they are useless in soft ground or sand. The fibre glass poles when put together are somewhere between 4 to 5 metres long and are really unwieldy, they stick in the ground, they bang into things and they wave around in the air, they are dangerous. It is a monumental task to get one pole fitted and when you have connected as a loop to the pegs, the other pole is waving around in the air and will hurt someone, keep your kids out of the way. Then when you are trying to fit the second pole it all just falls over and you struggle between attaching the second pole and stopping all falling over.
Once the tent is erected it is quite sturdy and is reasonably tall and you could put a chemical toilet inside and it would work fine. However, to market this as a shower tent is ridiculous because there is no provision to hang the shower head. Don't think there is a loop or anything to even manufacturer some type of shower head holder, there is nothing in there at all.
So, to sum up, this is the single worst designed pop up tent I have ever seen, it is cheap and nasty and doesn't work as a shelter or a shower tent only as a toilet tent. Therefore, if you need all three or even two of those functions, my advice is to NOT BUY one.
