Exacerbated the lesion. I'd nearly run out of the very good Betadine antiseptic ointment and dashed down to the supermarket to grab, in the stress of crowds, what I thought- what looked like -the same stuff. Since then, over several days the small sore has got worse. So I've read the tiny dark hard to read print on the dark tube and noticed that it's got only half the active ingredient in a damaging substrate to make it 'cream' instead of ointment.
The wound is soggy now, where with the ointment it was dry, with a good scab. It's got bigger, where with the ointment it had shrunk and dried up. I believe this cream is dangerously ineffective.
The good stuff, the ointment, has 10% povidone-iodine equivalent to 1% iodine, in a translucent gel. The cream has half that, in a mucky-looking opaque cream.
The nozzle of the bad cream is short and thick. The cream spills out too liberally and is messy under the oversized cumbersome lid. The good ointment was easy to dispense cleanly in the desired quantity.
Even though I'm getting on in years, and shouldn't be surprised, it still blows my mind how people can enthusiastically embrace and promulgate enshittification like this. Inferior formulation, inferior design.
In this case I'm upset. I find it culpable as the product is not only failing in its one job, but has actually made things worse.

Absolute rubbish – Doesn't seem to help, it's greasy, it doesnt dry, it rubs off on your clothes, hands, anything else that touches the cream on your skin. Absolute rubbish. What happened to the liquid betadine? At least it dries after you apply it. This doesn't - it just rubs off on everything. It's also less effective.

Holy Water – I 100+% endorse Betadine - Cream 20g and Solution 500ml. This is the Antiseptic (Solution) that's applied to a Patient as they lay waiting surgery to be performed. If you've seen documentaries of this nature; remember the yellow skin colour? Gone are the days of my using Savlon... For me Betadine healed a severe wound I had, treated my pets abyss (use diluted) and all other dings and scratches in days! It's as though Betadine was Holy Water :) A must for any home FIRST AID cabinet.
Please note; Yellow stains on bed sheets wash out... The Solution (if undiluted) can dry your skin a little and or make skin feel taut, as this product accelerates healing... as an open wound needs to close up?
Excellent – I have always been a fan of Betadine. For me, it is the best antiseptic medicine in pharmacies. I have known Betadine since I was young. Although it is a bit expensive than other brands, it is worth the money spent. It is very effective. It is hospital-grade antiseptic that is trusted by medical practitioners - hospitals, doctors and nurses. Betadine First Aid Cream is thick which I prefer on wounds rather than the liquid ones. I always make sure that I have Betadine First Aid Antiseptic Cream at home in my first aid tray, the way my mom used to do when we were young. Truly, Betadine has stayed with our family for decades. I highly recommend Antiseptic First Aid Cream. Highly effective antiseptic
