The Black & Gold Squeeze Sponge Mop is the same as other brands. It is well made and is equal to the well-known brands that design refill heads to fit only their own mops. Black & Gold sponge refills are still available in some stores, although they may be difficult to find online. Oates refills will also fit. However, all the brands, including Oates, use cellulose sponge refills that begin to break apart into small pieces after only a few weeks of use. This means you have to keep buying replacement refills, which is where the manufacturers make much of their money. The Black & Gold Squeeze Sponge Mop is also cellulose. I am going to buy real sponge from Clark Rubber, cut it to size, and glue the two plastic attaching feet on. Will let you know how it goes.
