Good phone, more R&D needed – Overall a good phone but i have had some problems - Phone reboots every now and then, and it takes 5 minutes to reboot - Need to click down screen to select anything, normally ok, but when you have to do it for SMS, its a pain. - battery life is poor - BB Storm 1 doesnt have wifi which is annoying Looks good, different to other BB styles Press button, battery life

Terrible – I bought 2 of these. One for me & one for the missus. My 1st unit was returned after a couple of days as the battery wouldn't even last 8 hours on standby (no use & keypad locked). The 2nd one was a lot better. Kinda. It lasted about a year before the main clicky button behind the screen wore out & made the phone completely useless (common… Read more

problem, apparently). BlackBerry replaced it with a refurbished unit which didn't work either. That one was replaced with another unit that only half the buttons worked. Then they replaced it again, this time with a filthy 2nd hand one with corroded USB connector, dirt & corrosion inside making the housing bulge & ripped sticker behind the battery. Needless to say, I didn't even leave the store with that one. The store manager got straight on to BlackBerry & Vodafone to sort this out (Crazy John's). So they sent out a brand new unit... with software issues. The thing kept restarting & sometimes just locked up with a tiny error message. All up, BlackBerry replaced it 7 times!!! Crazy John's got on to Vodafone & got me out of the contract there & then. The wife's phone died after 18 months or so, due to moisture ingress... would have cost us $180 to rectify as BB warranty voided due to 'water damage'. BlackBerry brought this phone out too quick, without proper testing, just to compete with the iPhone. Put me off BlackBerrys for life! Looks good. Vodafone plan good with unlimited internet. Poor battery life. Constant crashes & reboots. Screen has short life (buton behind screen wears out. Doesn't like moisture/humidity (which can also void warranties). Poor service from BlackBerry.

OK – Its agood alternative o the iPhone... but not as good as the iPhone. It has its slow moments, major history of freezing and so on. the "click" screen so you dont accidently push random buttons, camera flash. Software probles - continual freezing. The click screen couldnt keep up with my fast typing. Lack of applications available in Aus

Good – I actually like this phone. I recently got it on contract through Vodafone to replace an old faithful phone that just had to go and I was not disappointed. There are a lot of horror reports on this phone but if you update the software via the Internet and use a little bit of patience in setting it up properly, it works really well. Unlike other… Read more

reports in this forum, I have not had reception problems... it's much better than my old phone. This phone is best described as a "poor man's I-phone" but I'm happy with it. Looks and feels much like an i-phone, easy text messaging or email, fairly easy to use if you are fairly computer literate, good voice software (Vlingo), good clear reception, easy to use GUI (again for the computer literate). Very good web browser. Battery life short if you do a lot of web surfing, no wi-fi. You really need to read the instructions carefully to set it up properly! Some apps not available for Australia.

Terrible – As a blackberry phone it is almost unrecognizable as it is a total failure. The special keyboard design beoomes painful after a while and the lack of wi-fi for a business phone is unexplainable.Very poor signal reception two bars less in the same location as a blackberry bold, and in addition to vodafone being the only distributor of the storm in… Read more

Australia and having the worst reputation for reception making it the worst combination for a business phone I can think of.We do not recommend this phone for anyone. Good looking phone, can type messages easily in darkness. No wi-fi,puts phone calls on hold when pushing phone against ear to hard.Very hard to use keyboard

Good – I like my storm I can understand others that do not like the press screen as dust gets caught into the gao and also makes it harder to clean. It does what I need it to do however look around if your thinking of buying one as they are not for everybody. I like the vodafone plan that the storm came with free internet, free three months free and free… Read more

vodafone to vodafone calls on the weekend.

It is stylish and pretty cute looking.

It has msn, facebook and the internet with emails / facebook alterts coming into the phone like a text message. The updates come from the USA so they dont exactly fit Australia =S

The user manual isnt easy to understand I still have trouble operating mine and I have had it for 7 and a half months. I have also wiped every single number in my phone by accident twice when updating it on the computer.

It also tends to log off the network at times and is not the most reliable phone at times.

Bad – I often describe it as the Windows 98 of mobile phones... Mine has got into a routine of rebooting itself each afternoon! Any software change causes more dramas. Everything seems to clash with everything else!! In saying all of that, this phone has actually grown on me so that while it is away being repaired I am missing it! I am a texter so it… Read more

suits me very well for this purpose. I would not buy or recommend this phone. Touchscreen keyboard. Spell check. Battery life is short. I actually dont use it for phone calls because it has awful reception & rings 1.5 rings before going to mobile -which can't be changed! Software problems & clashes galore.

Terrible – I hate this phone. This could possibly be one of the worst phones in the world. The Vodafone man said there was a 8/10 return on the phone since its release. The game Word Mole that comes on the phone. I love this game. I hate everything about this phone except for the game. 1 - the phone cut out on phone calls within 30secs to 1min 30 sec. 2… Read more

- texting on the phone drove me insane that I would give up and just call people

3 - battery life was minimal

4 - phone reception played up - for example, the phone would be switched and look like it is on but in coming calls could not come in and the caller would get a 'not in service' message. Text messages would not be received either. This led to big issues where my partner was stuck somewhere and could not get hold of me.

Bad – A lot of people have had trouble choosing between the blackberry bold and the storm. I would definatley choose the bold. This phone is touch screen, but it is hard to use. The bold also has a better camera. Overall i would not rate this as a good phone. Looked like a great phone enitially.. The phone has a touch screen that is quite unique to… Read more

others, in the way that it is like a huge button in itself, this was supposed to be a great new feature, but i find it annoying and harder to use than other touch screen phones i've had. The menu is hard and confusing, and i have trouble with the camera. At times it is very slow and sometimes the battery runs out very quickly.
