Have owned 6 Blackvue cameras from an original DR400 Korean vers to a 750S. Have had little trouble from any of them and the 590 is no exception. Am using it as a rear camera in my SUV and has as good an image as the 750 and gives no trouble. Replaces a DR450 in which the memory battery died and had to be replaced. It also has good image quality for a basic camera Am using 200GB cards in them
My 400 still works as does the 450
They are quite easy to install except for getting into taildoors on SUV's
Footage is good quality and plates are easily readable if footage is paused.
I dont worry about Wifi or the Cloud
Purchased in for $285.

It is easy to set up using its manual. The quality of picture is pretty good. One of the thing I do not like about this one is I have to remove the SD card when I want to check the footage. I should go with the one that has build-in wifi.
Purchased in at Dash Cams Australia for $224.

Relatively easy to set up, their PC software is hot garbage though.
I have two of the DR590-1CH and one developed the well-documented "Russian boot loop" error after 18 months and a 33 degree day.
Blackvue stated that I will have to pay for a repair.
Not a product suited to Australian climate and certainly not a product the company stands behind. Spend your money elsewhere.
Purchased in for $450.

Hi Dan,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your camera. I can't see any records of you contacting us here in Australia. Did you contact the manufacturer in Korea? They only offer a 1 year w...
Bought from Dashcam Store in the US because they were the only source I could find for the Dashcam back when we needed to order them. I was told by BlackVue directly that I have to pay for the repair ...

Had this unit a month now after upgrading from cheaper ebay Chinese units.Unlike those all the settings/menus are done through a p.c and you have to download the blackvue viewer programme from their website first.Initially I thought that to be a PITA,once you get use to it though its no big deal. You need a blackvue, mlc, pittasoft branded sd card and I recommend a 64gb size so you get a minimum of 12hrs FHD 60fps recording.
Recording quality is good, the unit talks to you on set-up,start-up and shut down:-),It doesn't perform miracles as far as p...

I purchased this unit for a second car, after having had a DR450 for a couple of months. After an initial issue with the performance of the DR590, Blackvue were happy to replace the unit. The DR590 has a better lens than the DR450 and the picture is certainly clearer than the DR450, however so far, this clearer picture can only be obtained by watching the vision via media player rather than on the Blackvue program. I don't know if this is a problem for others or not. While this is not particularly ideal, it's not the end of the world.
The only...

I have checked the impact that the camera is detecting and it is nothing. The most recent was when I sat in the car for a while checking my phone, whilst waiting to pick someone up. I departed the loc...
Read moreation to go and do something else, instead of waiting, and the camera told me an impact had occurred, despite no movement having taken place. No doors had been opened, no nothing. There are two issues with this incorrect reporting: the first is that the DR450, whilst in the same car, never gave false impact detection reports. The other is that the DR590 does it randomly, (both the initial DR590 I purchased and the replacement unit I received). Sometimes a door can be opened and closed with no report (assuming the doors may be setting it off) and other times, after coming off parking mode, it reports an impact. The down side is that I ignore the reports but one day it may be relevant and I could miss the event. I'm also curious why the date on the recordings is now 10 days out of whack. It was correctly set but is now showing today's recordings (16/06) as 03/06.Questions & Answers
