Blanco BMO300X

How many kitchen appliances survive for 18 years these days? Mine did – I owned this microwave for 18 years and only had a problem with it 2 years ago when the internal light finally blew. Today, it finally started tripping the house fuse so it's time to upgrade to a more modern device. Sounds like if you get a good one it works perfectly otherwise you'd get a lemon. Loved its look, it was uncomplicated to use. I… Read more
had zero complaints with it. Powerful heating compared to some friends more modern ones f different brands that took ages to reheat food.
Sounds like we had the best run of anyone. Ha Ha! – Purchased new with new kitchen Reno. Never heated properly or evenly. Seems very underpowered compared even to smaller microwaves. Not the 1000 watts power it claims to have? Was very expensive and the stainless surround was ridiculously priced! But this is the one my wife wanted, because "it looks nice". refuses to proceed when it "overheats" if… Read more
you use it for any length of time and have to wait for it to cool down.
We put up with this overpriced, underpowered and in our opinion under performing unit for three years. Now the latest problem is that it rust runs but no heating. We will go and buy another Panasonic like the last one we had for 15 years and was still going strong when we gave it away to someone else. We are sorry we ever changed.
Don't buy one! Is all we can say
Microwave is Rubbish – Purchased a display home with a new MW installed. Would not work and sent a technician out to fix it -.worked when it felt like it. If you heated something and had to put it back would never heat it more. Is it a faulty thermostat? When the oven has just been used will not work.. We had a further 2 replacements that also didn't work. The third… Read more
MW worked when it felt like it. If you heated something and had to put it on again, the oven did not heat it anymore. The microwave has hardly been used and now Sent an E Mail to them and am awaiting their comments. does nor work at all. We have a stove and dishwasher and they work fine.
I've been very happy with it – Had my Blanco microwave for about five years now. Bulb has gone but that's the only issue I've had. Looks great in the kitchen. Have had other Blanco appliances and been very happy with those too. Oven, dishwasher both performed faultlessly. I really like the stainless steel look as its quite modern.
Excellent Reheating – Purchased in 2012, reheats all my food well. Stainless steel interior almost looks new, very even cooking and my pizzas the day after turn out great. I'm not one to cook a cake or meat in it but for reheating and vegetables it's a great buy. I have purchased Blanco product in the past and have found them to be built very well. Powerful, reheats very evenly
Good microwave – Used one of these microwaves in a relatives house a few times and I have found ti to be a decent microwave for reheating. Powerful, cooks well and looks pretty good too. The stainless steel inside is a good idea for cleaning and it doesn't peel or rust off. Touch pad and handle/hinge is good and not rubbish plastic. I have used Blanco products… Read more
before - they may not be the absolute top upmarket brand but they are good.
I don't use a microwave for cooking for 40 minutes of anything like that - I reheat food for 5 minutes and thats it really. So I haven't had any issues with heating. Reheats well
Don't waste your money – We've had this microwave for just over 2 years, and have had never ending issues with it. After 15 minutes of use it turns itself off from overheating, and has now decided to never turn off. So when you open the door and then close again, it resumes cooking, even when there isn't anything programmed. For such an expensive microwave, it has… Read more
become a nightmare and such a waste, especially after we bought the trim to go with it so it sat beautifully in our kitchen. Looks Over heating, uneven heating, over priced
Looks nice but that's about it – We bought this microwave 4 years ago based purely on looks. I wanted a stainless steel microwave to replace a white Panasonic that I had for over 10 years. (The Panasonic still worked but the door was going rusty). The Blanco certainly delivered on looks but that's about it. I found the settings extremely difficult to use. It was not at all… Read more
intuitive (even for something as simple as setting the clock), so I always had to pull out the manual to work things out. 4 years on, I still doubt that I have correctly chosen the function that I want as the screen doesn't really confirm your setting by displaying any icons ( eg. If you have chosen 80% power). Fortunately I never experienced the gross breakdown/malfunction issues that other reviewers did, but this has been a pretty hopeless microwave. It cooks the outer edges of any meat you are trying to defrost, even when you take extra care to do it slowly and gently. Now, it seems like it's not heating very well, and it takes ages to reheat anything. The bulb blew after 3 years and the cost to have it replaced (bulb was only $12; the rest of the cost was labour) was more than the cost of some brand new microwaves - no thank you. From the very start, the clock on the microwave has gained time and I am forever re-setting it. For such an expensive microwave, I really would expect it to last at least twice as long as it has. I won't be buying Blanco products again. Looks nice, I like the handle Expensive, unreliable, and difficult to use.
Its just Bad – Purchased turnkey townhouse with all Blanco products installed. Microwave door has never closed properly, needed an extra firm push, also sometimes would appear to work but would not and door needed to be opened and closed again. Eventually failed like another poster here where it appears to be working but no heating happening. Did not… Read more
bother to price a repair since we already have had to repair Blanco Oven (went supernova - luckily we were watching otherwise was a potential fire), Replace Dishwasher control panel (again a fire risk as drying cycle would not finish so kept getting hotter until power was killed), replace Blanco rangehood as fan motor failed after 12 months use.
In comparison still have Sharp & Panasonic microwave ovens still working after 15 years.
In summary I would just avoid Blanco products period. Not much just matched other Blanco goods Poor quality everything
Absolute Piece of rubbish! – This was a replacement for a previous Blanco microwave that broke down. This model stopped working after 10 months. Blanco rep was hopeless because he didnt understand that i wanted a refund instead of a third piece of rubbish from Blanco. Finally got a refund and bought a Panasonic which i cant fault at all! Price, quality, noisy and unreliable
Shonky – I bought 20 of these ovens to match the cooktops in a block of units. The units are about 3 years old now. I would have to say that probably over half of them have either had to be replaced or repaired. I have had to remove any faulty one and take it the repairer and wait the week or so, all the while a tenant was hounding me. in the end I bought… Read more
a couple of spare ones that I could slip in when one packed up. They didn't last very long and now the warranty is over it looks like I'll have to purchase alot more because as the tech told me they cost almost as much to repair as they cost to buy. And they're not cheap!!! Looks like I'm gonna change them out for an LG when they breakdown from now on. I bought 20 LG washer/dryers at the same time and not one issue! Blanco cooktops are crap too have replaced 6 or so of them and bracing for more. Look great, work good most of the time. Too much dramas when things go bad, which is too often. expensive repairs "just toss it"
Terrible – Avoid it. Three faults out of two new units in six months is not good. Setting a cooking time is also not as easy as it should be. Looks good, fits in well with my Electrolux oven and fridge. Lots. We have 3 breakdowns in six months all with the same fault (not cooking/heating). the first one we sent in for repair and broke down a few weeks… Read more
with the same fault after it was returned. We took it back to The Good Guys frankston who I cant rate more highly for their customer service. They replaced it with a new one no questions asked, however it also broke down with the same issue. The Good Guys replaced it with a Panasonic which has no issues.
Service by Blanco was average, while the turnaround time was quick to "fix" the fault, the lady said I needed to drive to their service centre in Mitcham. i explained that Good Guys had couriered it to them and that i had twin new borns at home, but the lady wouldnt budge. I called the Good Guys, explained that it was difficult for me to pick it up, and they sorted it out.
Other thing we didnt like about is is you cant set a specific time, its all in 30 second increments, then you can adjust it in 10 second blocks to the desired time once it starts cooking - its a lot of fiddling around for something so basic as wanting to set a cooking time.
Terrible – NEVER buy this, an absolute lemon. Was broken the day we took it home and needed a new circuitboard. The workshop we took it to had about 20 lying around. The timer function is also useless. The screen fogs up when in use. It has turned off randomly when in use. Looks good Reliability Functions

Know better, choose better.
Terrible – Less than 2 years old and has randomly turned itself off many times - like it's overheating and then suddenly turns on again about 20 minutes later. Now the microwaves have stopped working - you think everything is fine, but the food/liquid is still stone cold when you take it out. Thankfully I have been able to bring the Sanyo microwave in from… Read more
the garage which I bought 2nd hand in 1990 and is still going strong (20 years later!!). Do not buy this microwave - you'll be sorry. Looks modern and presents well matching oven. Totally unreliable
Bad – Our Blanco was purchased as part of a renovation of our kitchen. All other new appliances have fully met our expectations. We chose the Blanco microwave based on its appearance. Currently, we have a hole in the wall where the Blanco is housed when it isn't being repaired. Stylish and well presented. Seems to be down on power compared to its… Read more
similarly rated predecessor. More expensive than caparable brands. Our machine is unreliable - in three months since purchase it has failed twice - once for failure of the digital display, second for no microwaves.
Unimmpressed. From day 1 clock gained time rapidly, so no poit in programming to cook. Would be… Read more
Bad – i own other blanco products which i have no complaints about, but these are european products, this unit is made in china.in the two months i have had this unit its been repaired twice, and the appliance repair centre had these blancos stacked on top of each other,as i was walking out someone was bringing one in(no joke)not happy It was free when i purchased an oven very expensive rrp
Terrible – Very dissapointed - as this was purchased to match the oven. It does not disipate the steam and the screen turned white around the seal(normally black) The looks & brand name We had used it twice and it has had to go for repair
