We purchased three new BMW cars in 2017. An X4, a 420 convertible and a 420 coupe for our daughter. Always serviced via log book at BMW dealer. After the expiry of the warranty we had nothing but problems, all motors two litre twin turbo. Overheating, replaced waterpumps, piping cost $8000. All three cars, power windows wouldn't go up plus… Read more

badge fell off X4 rubber around door perished, drivers door handle rubber fell to bits. Plastic fell off the front seats, so many problems. BMW answer its out of warranty not our problem. Two cars only travelled 50,000 and 60,000 klms.

Bought our 2020 X4 M40i in 2023 with 30k on it and was like new. Every time my wife and I drive it, its an occassion. For such stupendous performance we are averaging 9.5l/100km and that's without mollycoddling it. Have had no issues at all with it… Read more

and the material quality and finish are first rate (Particularly considering it's made in America). The huge 21" run flat tyres are not cheap to replace but we don't mind as it's such and awesome car. The public are falling over themselves for EV's but they are soulless unlike this vehicle

Follow-up  · It's been a year since my original review and pleased to say the car is still a dream to drive. It's obviously a performance SUV but in comfort mode ride quality is pretty good considering the low profile run flat tyres and and sports suspension, although set on adaptive suspension it works well too. Cargo area is more than adequate and rear seats… Read more

Beautiful car inside and out, minor mechanical issue – Beautiful car inside and out. Drives like a dream for a sporty SUV. The engine note is lovely, particularly in sport-mode. The suspension provides a good ride, though I prefer the precision it provides in Sport mode, my partner prefers Comfort mode. Heaps of space for us, our baby, and our gear. Safety features help a lot.. particularly in… Read more

Canberra. AWD helps with the icy mornings.. as do the heated seats. Has developed a slight oil leak at 80,000 kms.

Its been a Fantastic car 3 Yrs – Great car, drives very well. Quiet and refined. SPort mode is very good -good enough. boot is large even though not high due to x4 style which is a small price for the look. Around town it does 7.6 on diesel the tank lasts about 1000km. Build quality is excellent and it scores as the best car on J Power scores in USA for most reliable car (not brand actual car out of thousands). Show details

Body Style. Build Quality. Economical. Range. M Power Performance – Have owned it for 6years now. 1 fill gets me 750-800kms around town. Country range 1150km. No electric or hybrid vehicle even comes close. Euro 5 emissions standards. Power reduction on all models in Australia have been reduced by 20%-25% by an onboard (ECU) in other words it has the specifications of 0-100kmh in 3.9secs with a chip adjustment.… Read more

Interior leather quality is second to none. Surround sound is second to none. 5yrs to produce that body design before production. Looks that are timeless. Have not opened the bonnet in 6yrs. Highly recommend if you can find one with low kms. You cant go wrong with many decade years of enjoyable driving. If you want power from the 630Nm 3.0Ltr 6Cyl twin diesel turbo you cant go wrong with the top of the line X4 F26. Just one major flaw is with Technology on these vehicles. When your NETWORK provider disables 3G, 4G or 5G then any apps or mapping will not work. That’s the downside with these vehicles. Otherwise you cant go wrong.

Very happy with my X4 M40i – Bought in Oct 2019. My 5th BMW and the best so far. Now covered 59000 kms with no issues, especially with service agreement included with purchase. Yes its a bit heavy on fuel/tyres but the performance and sound is amazing. Highly recommend it Show details

OMFG - soooo so good - so quick - so perfect!! – My 3rd Beemer. best one yet. Great touring car, great car to take for a rip through the hills, comfy around town and all the electronics work without any fuss. The drive train is a dream. 3L six cylinder engine is BMW's best, aligned to a perfect gearbox and limited slip differential (just perfection). I really thought 21 inch rims on a SUV… Read more ·  3

would be a mistake but it rides beautifully, even on horrible Aussie country roads. yes the wheels do jiggle a little on slower metro roads that are substandard, but this is a sports SUV. Seats are so comfy. Sounds system beautiful. Love the heads up display and all the electronic safety stuff that work without being too intrusive. Best part is you have old fashion switches for climate control, and sound system so no need to tough a screen - good work BMW.

2 years old and not one issue.

Disappointed – Negatives: air conditioning is weak and not able to cool the car well during Queensland summers (30+ degrees outside). As a result I just don't drive during it summer days. Leather seats developed a crack after 20,000km only. Dealership did not honour the extended accessory warranty purchased but fortunately BMW manufacturer repaired out of… Read more

goodwill.

Keyless start is pointless as the car does not have proximity sensor to open/lock doors.

Poor vision out rear passenger windows when checking blind spots.

Positives: 2l diesel is very economical 6.5l 100km consistently.

Refined with minimal diesel clatter.

Looks good

Sporty and seductive – My BMW X4 M Sport is a beautiful car visually and it’s performance on the open roads is equally as impressive. The handling, the comfort and the options are of a quality that you simply cannot compare with other makes. I’ll never drive a sedan ever again because I’ve been truly spoilt by the BMW X series. I’ll be upgrading very soon to the newer X4.  Show details

Love the styling – Love the styling of the X4 m sport, so I traded in my Lexus NX for one. X4 infotainment system is quite nice to use and voice system is way better than the NX. The auto tail gate is very fast to open and close and it has a nice pressure sensor to stop it in case of obstruction. So many features to play with. My only disappointment is its economy,… Read more

officially it is 7.3 l/100km, but no matter how carefully I drive it. The best that I can do is 8.7 in highway driving.

beautiful suv with a reputation brand – im the fan of BMW, i love the fun in driving. for the BMW X4, there are four different model to suit for me. but very disappointed to interior, even like MAZADA is better than X4, old interior makes me feel im driving a car that produced 5 years ago. petrol cost is not economy, around 11L/100km  Show details

My Smart Car – Omg!! I am absolutely in love with my X4. I call it my smart car since it has so many safety features! My favorite one is the steering wheel vibrates everytime I hit the side lane. Love the eagle eye camera which helps me to park. Interior is beautiful with leather seats, navigation, heated seats etc. There are so many more great features. Go check it out yourself and take it for a test drive...you will fall in love with it.  Show details

6 month review – 6 months of ownership and it's time to review. Cracker of a car. Highlight is the epic and instant power from the twin turbo 3.0L engine (I test drove the 20d and found it pretty lacking from takeoff). Car will easily do 0-100 in 5.2 seconds with the Launch Control. Doesn't corner like a true BMW coupe due to the ride height, but it's nothing… Read more

short of amazing the way it does handle given the dimensions. How do they do it?

No issues to report, entertainment system works a treat and integrates easily with my phone. Also comes with an iPhone app so you can locate your car and send destination instructions to the onboard GPS. Connected Drive is also useful, push the button and someone instantly takes your call. I've used them a few times to help me find various stores.
