I had 1 week trial and cancelled my trial And subsequent membership within 3 days. Staff are dismissive and patronising , the gym equipment are obsolete and in need of change, class trainers don’t ask if someone is new or if someone has injuries. I had a very unpleasant interaction with other members of the gym pointing out my age , and I am not… Read more

even old being in my 40s , and that has never happened to me in my life . I highly recommend to stay away from this gym, not worth it on all levels

In need of upgrading and staff not always pleasant – As others have rightly pointed out, the gym needs an upgrade. The equipment for the pump classes and cycle classes are old but that is ok for the price point. However the more prominent thing is the attitude of the staff. I have now been a member for 6 months and of the senior staff, Simone and Anita are best dismissive. They have a "you are… Read more

not worth my time now that you a member" tone if you bring up anything with them. Quite disappointing really.

Lovely staff and a great range of classes – The staff here are so friendly and they make an effort to know you and your routine. It is nice to be a person not a membership number. If you haven't been for a while or are going to a new class, they notice, which is nice because they help make taking on new challenges at the gym unintimidating. The classes are fun, there is a good range of… Read more

options throughout the day - perhaps the only criticism is that there are a lot during the day, to which those of us who work cannot attend - it would be nice to see more variety in the morning and evening timetable. The class rooms are well sized, open and the instructors enjoy what they do, which helps the energy in the room.

The equipment is a bit on the old size, but it does the job, and at no point have I felt it was unsafe to use the equipment. There is everything you need to do a gym session vs a class. Also the personal trainers there are clued in and engaged. It is nice that it is a womens only gym, so the weights are suitable to a different usage pattern, and there is not the 'packs of testosterone' hanging around machines, and for those of us that are not want-to-be-swimwear models, this is a much more welcoming environment.

Great customer service and flexible hours and no problem with cancelling or freezing account – The gym is old and defiantly needs refurbishment, otherwise lots of group fitness available, the staff are flexible and friendly. They run long crèche hours and its cheaper than fernwood or fitness first after you add up all the crèche hours I need, especially I have three children. They do alot of outdoor exercises. Lots of group exercise… Read more

variety, friendly, willing to put hold on membership, long crèche house and no need to book. Old equipment and needs refurbishment

Warm and Welcoming! – Previously I'd been to Fitness First and I couldn't stand being near the machines because I inevitably end up sandwiched between a sweating 150kg mass of muscle with a murderous look in his eyes and the most gorgeous, Armani-model-esque man on the face of the planet. Needless to say, as an awkward, weak, struggling, red-faced, sweaty teenage-girl,… Read more

I tended to avoid anything but the treadmills and yoga area because of this.

I was quite shy when I went into Body Shape with a friend who was a long-standing member. I'm 17 and I've been looking for an all-female gym for a little while. A lot of my friends had already joined and loved it. The woman who welcomed me, [name removed], was extremely attentive (without being intrusive or weird) to my particular goals - toning, a little bit of weight loss - and showed me around the gym. The overall atmosphere was one of calm, quiet determination and fun.

The equipment was clean, relatively new and well-kept. The help-desk knew my friend by her first name, and treated customers like friends or friendly colleagues - in fact, it seemed like they all were friends. They have monthly check-ups for goals you might be working towards and 3 free training sessions a month, at least for my program (mature age student) they do.

I'm so happy I've joined honestly, the gym seems to be a very warm, welcoming one, with lots of checkpoints and encouragement to reach your goals. Also, it's not nearly as expensive as some of the gyms in my area, and it's full of classes like Pilates, Cycling, Power Yoga, Boxing and Zumba. They even have a weekly outdoor running club which they run from Freshwater, right near where I live.

They also have a sauna and a beauty salon in the change rooms, which I thought was a lovely finishing touch. The only thing I was kind of hoping for was a swimming pool, but I live near the beach and a pool, so it's not really such a big deal to me. Clean, welcoming, calm, caring, all-female, attentive, not crowded no swimming pool?

In need of a refurbishment – I went there for one year and while I did enjoy it there I did find a few things very annoying. The gym itself is clean and tidy the staff is ok. The equipment particularly the treadmills are extremely worn. They squeal, rattle and the walking part is worn and uneven. Some even cause me to fall over as the speed up and slow down erratically. There… Read more

is equipment there that was out of order for the entire time I was there ( 2 treadmills). The elliptical machines were rattling and clanging for months before they were replaced. The cycling machine has been broken for the entire time I was there. The classes are good, crowded sometimes, the crèche is good as well.

My experience was OK however due to the equipment state, I have changed gyms. Cleanliness, nice staff, nice atmosphere, women only gym. Equipment extremely worn and in need of replacement. Owners have not changed equipment at all despite it being needed. They need to understand that they are losing customers.

Run down gym – Equipment is old and run down, and rearly working, i always use to choose to go during the day because no one is there so it guarantees me access to the equipment where at night time chances are all we be taken, there are about 30 cardio equipments and sometimes around 5 are not working. The classes are good but sometimes again not enough spaces… Read more

or enough bikes in spin classes. Parking is also an issue when busy you need park atleast a couple mins down the road because there are only 4 parking spots and streets are filled by people already at the gym or residence. Main issues would be lack of airconditioning and customer service, they sometimes only have one girl working who is off most of the time giving a personal training lesson so your left there wondering how long it will take til you can actually start working out. Really im glad i moved to a bigger gym and the prices were cheaper at my new gym, for what you pay at bodyshape the facilities are not worth it, definitly i need of new refurbishment. classes facilities are poor and customer service

Good – I've been a member for 2 years now. The membership fee is very reasonable - compared to some of the major gyms in the area. The gym has a great body combat class but it is only available once a week. They are way too many body pump and step classes. The machines are about 18 months old and some are now in need of servicing. Can be busy at peak… Read more

times. But I like how you can freeze your membership if you are going away on holidays. And there is no fee for doing this. There is a minimum of 2 weeks though. You can freeze your membership without being charged. Too many body pump and step classes.
