Bona Timber Spray Mop

I recently bought this flat mop for my new timber floor as it was recommended by the installer. What a terrible product. I ran a hotel housekeeping department for 10 years and can say this is the most useless expensive thing I’ve ever bought. I have also never used more energy than I have with this. I’m one of those odd people who like… Read more
mopping, but this made me want to have a breakdown after the first use, the amount of it doesn’t dry neatly, or clean even the lightest mark off the floor ( that I did white a light scrub with a rag) it also leaves spots of fluid that leak from the spray all over the place which means I have to mop twice. Alsonot to mention for the size of my home I have to use $5 worth of your cleaning fluid (could buy 2 litres of disinfectant for that. The sheer amount of effort to mop with this thing is insane. What a joke, if you are looking to use a flat mop do yourself a favour and buy the cheapest one you can find first to see if you will even contemplate wanting to you one.
Bought Bona spray mop 2 years ago, used it around 20 times with Bona cleaning fluid. Thought , hey great mop until today, is stopped spraying. Dismantled it to effect a repair, fount cheap plastic plunger with the connecting assemble broken. Unable to repair it. No 'O' ring just plastic plunger, plastic on plastic, no lubrication, seized up don't waste your money Show details
I have purchased two Bona floor mops for use on both timber and tiled floors over a period of several years. Both worked for only a few months, before the liquid dispensers (plastic bottles) would become stuck in the mop. The only way of removing them was to disassemble the mop by unscrewing the cartridge recepticle. On a few occasions, I bought… Read more
new Bona plastic bottles, and the problem was resolved, but only for a few weeks.
The pads are not well attached to the mop, and regularly fall off.
I contacted Bona Melbourne on a few occasions. The company acknowledged that there is a problem with the older style mop, but claimed that they had no reports of problems with the new model mop. I can assure Bona that the new mop is also sub-standard on two counts - dispensers becoming stuck, and pads poorly attached.
I now use a Sabco mop; it was half the price, the dispenser is easily removed and the pads remain firmly attached to the mop.
I regret having spent so much money on Bona mops, liquid dispenser bottles and Bona sprays.
Not what I expected – Hook to hang it up broke. After about a month. Also spray not working properly as it may be faulty cartridge Show details
Don’t waste your money – I thought this was the major reform to cleaning in decades, unfortunately it didn’t last long, whilst this is so much easier than the old bucket method and recommended for my floating floors, it failed miserably. Within a dozen or so uses, less than a month the spray stopped pumping. It’s simply not worth the money, it’s not a cheap mop either. I… Read more
definitely will not be replacing it with another bona, I’m currently walking around with a spray bottle which let’s face it along with the cost of the bonacare is an expensive and time consuming exercise.
Stand by Their Products – I have been using Bona timber floor cleaner and mop for a couple of years now … I get excellent results….. Cuts floor washing time in half …. No need to rinse and the floor dries very quickly…. I recently had an issue with my mop and Bona were quick to address my issue …they definitely put their customers first . Show details
Not worth the money – Bought this mop for my timber flooring , spray handle broke after 6 mths , bought a replacement , that handle broke within a wk returned and got a refund . Will try other cheaper mops if they last longer than 6 mths it’s worth it. Show details
A god send for timber floors – This product is the bees knees. Worth its hefty price tag. It’s easy to use, safe on floor boards and the washable mop head is great! I’ve seen a few other ones on the market but this one seems to be the best and I recommend spending a few extra dollars so you get quality. We love ours! Show details
Not Worth the Premium Price Tag – This mop is touted as being a premium mop for timber floors so considering we just spent a lot of money on new engineered timber flooring I decided to buy one. However, I have now had two of these mops. After a couple of months, they start to spit cleaner out as you manoeuvre the mop around your floor (in-between spraying on purpose) and when it's… Read more
not in use the cleaner drips out. It also starts out as a quiet mop but after several uses it ends up being very noisy and the plastic makes an awful creaking sound with every move you make.
I contacted Bona regarding the 'spitting' issue and although their customer service agent was very helpful, the suggestion of removing the cleaner bottle and soaking the nozzle and membrane of the mop in hot soapy water didn't help the issue and I feel like having ongoing maintenance on a mop shouldn't be necessary.
Another thing to note is that the handle of the mop has very rough edges and is not comfortable to use. I honestly don't have much positive to say about the product. I don't even like the Wood Floor Cleaner, but I still use it because there's not a lot of options out there. The floor looks great while it's wet but once it's dry I can still see marks on the timber, I don't feel like it cleans that well at all.
Anyway, I ended up returning the mop and getting a second one which did the same things, just as quickly. So, I returned that one and I bought a Sabco SuperSwish Spray Mop which is basically the same, except for being half the price, better made, more comfortable, quieter, no drips or spits, the bottle is easier to fill and it is much more pleasant to use.
