Terrible customer service and won’t honour warranty – The heating element was found to have a crack and required replacing. The part was still under warranty but they refused to replace it because I couldn’t prove I had serviced the central heating every 12 months! This is not mentioned anywhere. I previously had issues with them over the add-on cooling and had to take it to Consumer Affairs. Buyer beware.
Inducer motor is too loud – The unit works ok. The problem is that the inducer motor the one that turns on first before the unit ignites is so loud ( High Pitch noise ) you can hear it in every room in the house. The unit is outside. Even the neighbor mentioned it. Do not buy it if high pitch noise would bother you. Bonaire technicians came out and said nothing can be done as that is how its designed. Very Very Very disappointed with this product. I totally regret it. You would think they would at least provide a silencer for an extra cost but NOPE. They dont even provide that. I would be happy to pay but nope, they dont provide one. I totally regret having this as a heater at my house. Lesson learned, never again Bonaire.

last time that i will allow you to fix my heater i will be asking for a full refund or exchange for a better model that doesn't break down every time we need it.
Very pleased with this unit – This unit works very well. Remote simple to use. Temperature control is excellent. The operating noise level is exceptable. Air vent flow noise level is very good, almost not there. Great compact sized unit. Very pleased. Show details
Unreliable, lemon of a heater – We made the mistake of purchasing a Bonaire central heating unit when we upgraded our home in late 2014. the unit was replaced last year, the machine has just failed again, making it the most unreliable and useless home appliance I have ever purchased.
When it does work, it is a great heater, but one expects a heater to work consistently, not break down as regularly as this garbage does.
While we understand that the warranty for the unit is 7 years, Bonaire have advised that minimum call-out fees to check the unit is $300+ parts.
I would never buy one of these lemon units ever again and would avoid the brand and its' sub-brands in future.
Noisy jet engine of a thing! – Bonaire Rhino 4 Star - These units sound like one other reviewer aptly called "a jet engine". After I'd had mine installed and sat down to read the instruction manual I noted it makes several mentions of not putting the outdoor unit near bedrooms, living rooms or neighbors ! They are cheap Chinese made units and I wish I had gone with a Braemar or Brivis. Show details
Happy with this unit – Replaced a 3 star Celair unit with this 4.4 star rated Bonaire. Remote is easy to use, has all the programming settings necessary. Much quieter than the Celair unit it replaced, different noise, but does not bother me. Compact unit, well priced, can recommend. Works with Bonaire coolers as well. Show details
Noisy - not great – Replaced a 25yo brivis with a Bonaire MB4. This unit is far too noisy and we can hear the unit running through insulated brick walls. The neighbours have also complained since we installed this a week ago. The model it replaced was whisper quiet and you could only tell it was on by the sound of air coming through the vents. it has a jet engine powering it. It may be energy efficient but I would rather burn more gas and have a quiet outdoor unit.
Would not recommend the MB4 unfortunately. Good remote, seems fairly efficient The noise - far too loud.
