Dynamo 15 gas convector smashed and top cover broken. Cannot find an option in your page for parts repairs – It worked perfectly!! But unfortunately the Dynamo 15 gas convector accidentally smashed with garage floor when trying to put it down from top shelf. Left side of the top cover is smashed and partly open. Is there a way to get this repaired? Not costly. Show reply

Highly recommend – Great heater, it’s quiet when you turn it on with no smell of gas. Heats the main areas of our 2 bedroom unit without any issues. Economy mode is good to use. Purchased this heater as a previous brand was returned due to major issues with error codes, gas smell etc. Show details ·  1

Good heater - poor after sales service by Rinnai – After years of reliable service my heater is displaying fault #12. Trying to find a Rinnai repair agent was very hard because the website is cryptic and the phone number Rinnai advertise is rarely answered. However I eventually I did. Sadly after sitting in the workshop for 4 weeks the Rinnai repair tech could not find the problem. So now I still have a broken heater and I am $110 out of pocket. Thanks for nothing Rinnai Show details ·  4

Highly effective – This is a powerful heater which we have always been happy with. It heats up straight away and quickly heats up a large area of our house. It gives out consistent heat to the desired temperature without weakening. It can become very strong within close proximity and I may need to turn it off or move away. It is also quite heavy and does not have… Read more ·  1

wheels which would help when needing to change angle of the heater. I like that it has a child lock as we have a little boy. The whole household enjoys this heater very much. A great purchase.

Not safe – Set at 19.20.22 Runs on full blast ...gets to 27 have to turn off manually....won't cut off automatically... $1000.... Run normal or economy won't cut out... Looks great but poor performance for the money and definitely big big safety issue with no cut out/ stop on set temperature.. Avenger 25plus does..(5year old model) but too strong for smaller room...  Show details

Great Heater – This heater is really good so easy to use and lots of features.I did not buy the Avenger 25 as its out put was too large for my room size. The Dynamo model is just right for the room,it has push button start with automatic fan speed,i like it very much.  Show details ·  1

Heats the room quickly and quietly. Timers work really well – We replaced a noisy reverse-cycle air conditioner with this gas heater, and couldn't be happier. It quickly heats the room without any fuss, and maintains the temperature easily. We use the self-timers to have it switch on automatically an hour before we awake and the room is nice and toasty when we get up. No complaints  Show details ·  1

Amazing Heater – Hi all, this heater works amazing at our 3 bedroom 2 bath house. Bought this as my sister bought it before and she told me it does not really smell as other brands. I bought it and it is proven that I could not really smell the burning gas. It heat the small room around 30sqm really quick and it has economy mode and temperature setting so that you can save you bills. Our winter this time saved by this little heater.  Show details

Keeps the whole house warm – This is a fantastic heater. My house is a 4 bedroom small-medium sized house. we keep this heater in the living room pointing the corridor leading towards the rooms. It would warm up the whole house in just under an hour. This is very economical as well. It has "Eco mode", 2 timer functions and the temperature setting (relatively accurate). We… Read more ·  1

Good little heater – Had no problems with this heater. Works well for heating small to medium sized room and is quite efficient at doing so. Much better than the old one we replaced. Slimline design so tucks away into the corner without consuming too much floor space in our living room. Would definable the recommend to others  Show details

Great heater and very very little gas smell – I bought an Everdure heater about 10 years ago. It belonged to a girlfriend who moved to a house with no gas. It heated very well but last summer I was noticing the smell was actually very bad and figured that couldn't be good for me, so I decided to buy the Rinnai 15 for this winter rather than the Avenger 25 which might have been overkill. I… Read more ·  1

bought a new one online for $810. I find its really good and the thermostat function is fine in my opinion, doesn't switch off but turns to low and makes it much more efficient as it's correctly sized for my space.I close a door or two to heat the main room initially but heats a 70sqm area in Sydney to a very comfortable temperature. It's almost totally silent when running in this economy mode and I really can't smell any gas smell at all(very very little anyway) but I do leave a window cracked open a little. It's got some nice features like twin timers, thermostat control , child lock, remote control(bit of a gimmick I think)but it works. It has no visible naked flame and has tip over safety features that turn it off etc, so I don't freak out and question if I've maybe left it on when I go out. All in all I reckon It's great and a 5 year warranty helps also. Appliance Central delivered next day for a great price.

Best Gas Heater Eever – I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment. This gas heater is cheap to operate and fast to run. It only takes 10 minutes and I can feel my apartment warm. It's nice and cosy for me and my dogs. Best decision ever. Why buy an electric heater when gas is cheaper to operate?  Show details

Excellent hearing system for small home! – This is a dependable gas heater that work well every time. It heats an entire medium sized room very quickly and efficiently. It has a clean and modern look and it easily blends in so as not to become a focal point of the room. Easy to use and easy to program and to turn on. We have been very happy with this purchase.  Show details ·  1

About the kerosene smell – We've had our heater for three years now without any problems, then a few days ago we started noticing a strong gas smell coming from it. We opened more Windows and made sure the filter was clean but the smell did not go away. Then we noticed our oranges from the week before starting to mould. We wrapped up the moldy fruits and threw the out and presto the gassy kerosene smell was gone!  Show reply

Great buy – The current Sydney chills finally forced us to get a heater. Did the research and got the Dynamo. We have been very happy with it so far. Installation was a breeze, and operating it is simple. And it is toasty warm! The timer option is a great tool as as well.  Show reply

Great Gas Heater. Love it – Got the Rinnai Dynamo 15, for heating our Lounge, Kitchen and dining area. Really like the unit, it does its job. Very easy to use. only suggestion for newbie, to connect to gas point, you don't screw thing, but more like a hard push first in gas point and then slight turn/screw thing. I would recommend this to anyone. But if for much larger areas, will also look at larger Avenger model  Show reply

Disappointed – I bought this heater based on careful research regarding size of room and geographical location and reading many reviews. However none of the issues we have been faced with were ever mentioned. Firstly after the May storms in Newcastle NSW when we had no power for 4 days we could not use the heater as it relied on electronic ignition. Bad… Read more

design feature for me - The heat only comes out from the LH side at the bottom so if you are sitting to the right you are cold until the room warms up. You need to stand in front of and to the left to feel any warmth to begin with.

Even at the lowest setting we have to keep turning it off because the room temp goes above what has been set - both on economy and normal settings. A minimum call out fee to get this checked costs $176 if the trouble is not considered to be covered by the warranty

Will now buy a heater that has battery ignition or can be lit during a black out and emits heat from the middle rather than from a small area at the bottom.

Just the right heater we needed – After reading several reviews (including reviews on productreview.com.au), we've recently bought the Rinnai Dynamo 15. It is compact, extremely simple to install. This piece of machine is quiet and has absolutely no smell. Warm up lounge room, dinning room and kitchen area (approx. 38m2) within 20 minutes. It's a bit on the pricey side but truly worth it.  Show reply

The research was worth it! Fantastic! – Before I buy an expensive item, I have a compulsive habit of researching it to death. Gas heaters cost a fortune, so this subject took me a very long time (over a year!). Eventually, after reading reviews wherever I could find them, and taking Choice's recommendation on this model, we plunged in. Awesome! It does everything it claims to do, and… Read more ·  1

that you expect from it.

Much much easier to use, and pleasant to have in the room than the old large ambient version we had (the type where you see the hot elements).

It's quiet, efficient, incredibly simple to operate, and looks really good (i.e. small and unassuming).

We running it in a reasonably large area, and it does the job well. How cool to have a remote control!

I recommend this model very highly indeed.

Great – Just plugged it in and away we went - cosy warmth :) There was an initial 'new' smell for about 5 minutes, as I expected. It was a sort of gassy new plastic smell. But, it was very, very faint. After that, nothing. The area to heat is about 160m2 with a dividing wall; albeit with a largish opening (1.4 x 2.4). We situated the heater near… Read more ·  1

the opening (between the 2 rooms) are were cosy within about 10 minutes. We then switched onto economy mode.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the unit Made in Japan.

Japanese made goods have a wonderful reliability status. I'd assumed China, but from Japan is a fantastic bonus.

Oh, a hint...

The online stores (in my case Appliances Online) offered a considerably better deal than big box retailers. RRP $1110, but got for $816 delivered!

Today, I'm a 'happy vegemite'.

Cheers

Perfect! Can't live without it – We are absolutely thrilled with this heater! This is our 2nd one now for a different area of our large home, as the first one was so effective. We are looking forward to a warm and cozy winter as these heaters thoroughly warm a large area in very little time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing instant, quiet, clean and economical heat.  Show reply

Perfect – Great heater, warm up very quickly. NO gas smell. Made a right decision to buy this model even though a few bad comments about gas smell. I bought this a few days ago with no problems at all. Energy efficient. Heater runs very quietly. Anyone looks for the great heater small to medium size living room. Strongly recommended. Warm, no noise or gas smell.

Odourless and warm! – I agree with mistyblue68. I almost didn't buy the thing because of all the negative reviews relating to "strong gas smells". I can only assume that they have to do with the existing connections. We bought the heater when our cold cold terrace became too cold to bear. Now it's toasty as hell. No regrets (so far anyway). Quiet, almost instant warming and energy efficient Not cheap but worth every cent.

Strong gas smell – We recently bought a Rinnai Dynamo 15 Convector and are very disappointed by the product. It is an expensive heater and does heat well, however, it is emitting a strong gas smell and we find it unbearable to use it in the house. After a quick google search, it seems a lot of people are complaining about the strong smell, too. I just wish we had known beforehand. Good heating capacity String gas smell, expensive product

Nice and toasty in our house. No smells here – I wonder why so many people are complaining of a strong gas smell about this heater and have not bothered to call Rinnai and sort it out? We had the same thing and I cursed buying the heater. I called the technical department at Rinnai and sorted it straight away. The "kerosene" smell was because the heater is sucking in all the odours and cooking… Read more

smells in our house and heating them. There was more technical jargon the guy at Rinnai told us. The first few times we used it we just opened all the windows and doors at once and put the heater on high for 10 minutes to burn the odour off. I think because our kitchen is close to the heater it has alot of trapped odours in our house. We only did that once or twice, now no more smell. Apart from that a brilliant little heater. My place gets so warm. I hope I will have this one for years. Heats quite a large space. Please if you have a problem call the company. They were awesome. Energy efficient.
