Very handy - so much so that we bought second one for downstairs – We bought one of these which went in our bedroom upstairs in natural timber. The little guy sleeps well enough. easy to move around Pro's Good height and size for a newborn. Made from real timber. Designed to keep the baby safe with sheets to go under the mattress supporting plastic base. Easy to wheel around Nothing fancy to break easy.… Read more

Standard bassinet size - so sheets and mattress protectors are easy to get ahold of

After a week or so it became apparent that newborns sleep a lot. And that having one downstairs where we spend most of the day would also be handy in addition to the one upstairs.

We were happy enough with the Boori Bassinet that we picked up another used example - this time finished in white (put it in the car already assembled).

Things of note Does take approximately half an hour to assemble. I can't remember if I needed to dig out tools from the garage or if it came with the right tool. The mesh has what looks to be a manufacturing defect - a couple of red strings just on one corner. These are in fact the safe loading level markers to let you know to keep the mattress and bedding below the red line. Both the timber and the white cot have the same red markers. It's fine once you know what it is.

Great bassinet – I love this bassinet, our 5 week old baby has slept well in it so far. It’s a good size and height. Being wood, it’s very sturdy. I like the stiff support board beneath the mattress, as you can tuck thin blankets tightly around a swaddled baby and they don’t move. The wheels are a little clunky, and aren’t for rocking the baby but allow you to… Read more

move it from room to room. Would like it if the mesh was see through for checking baby in the night. I was able to replace the Velcro on either end as it wore (I got the bassinet secondhand) without much fuss after ordering replacement off Boori website.

Boori Urbane Bassinet – The Boori Urbane Bassinet comes in a variety of lovely colours. The bassinet is made with quality timber and reinforced nicely. It's quite a sturdy but not overly heavy bassinet. Like most of Boori's baby products I found this bassinet to be longer than some of the competitors which we found came in handy because bub was in the 97th percentile.… Read more ·  1

The mesh breathes well and is quite supportive. It's a little annoying you can't see better through it. I found the wheels are more for moving the unit rather than rocking baby in the bassinet. The wheels have locks. It was a little annoying this bassinet didn't have somewhere to put some wipes and a nappy if you have a small room.

AAA customer service – We had some issues with our bassinet recently and contacted Boori. There communication was amazing, replied within a day and sorted out our issue within 2 days. Thanks again for making the process easy. Highly recommended Boori to all our family and friends  Show details

Does not roll or rock properly – The bassinet is a good size and the mesh is good. However, the wheels are terrible. The bassinet does not roll properly on carpet, floorboards or tiles. I struggle to wheel or rock the bassinet as the wheels don't grip with the floor resulting in a scraping sound. This is very annoying with a sleeping baby. I got replacement wheels which had the exact same problem. It is a design flaw with the use of poor quality plastic wheels. Show details

Great & Simple Bassinet – We bought this bassinet as it has breathable mesh & wheels. It makes it easy to wheel the baby around the house when I need to, only thing is sometimes the wheels squeak, which isn't ideal but hasn't been a deal breaker. The size is good, my son is currently 5.5 months old & still using the bassinet comfortably, however this would obviously depend… Read more ·  1

on the size of the baby. I do really like the mesh surroundings, for 2 reasons ; 1. our baby was in summer, so the breathable sides was great to prevent overheating. Secondly our son has a tendency to push him self to one side and plant his face against the mesh and has no issues breathing. The design is also nice and very simple.

Squeaky Wheels - Wakes Baby – We move the bassinet and the wheels squeak, it comes and goes, But on 3 occasions in this bassinet the squeaky wheels have woken our baby. Bad cheap wheel design. Show details

Compact design but a few flaws – We’ve had a number of Boori products over the years and they’re well made. We bought the Urbane bassinet for our third. It’s a compact design and easy to stick in corner without taking up acres of space. However, two things bug me. I find the crumby plastic castor wheels aren’t good enough to move the bassinet smoothly, especially on carpet. But… Read more

more importantly, we haven’t loved the lack of support of mattress and baby when baby is lying in it. The design is such that the mesh “hangs” down from the four sides and supports the mattress (with a plastic grate for some stability) but because there’s not rigid support holding up the mesh from underneath, the mattress sags in the middle. It means the baby is forced into a bit of a banana position which I don’t think has been good for our little one’s upset tummy at points. I stuck some lengths of timber underneath the grate which helped a bit, but it’s still not ideal. Obviously this is a bit of a personal experience for us and our baby but think it’s important to share for the benefit of others.

Lovely little bassinet – Got this as a set from Baby Buntings and used it for almost 6 months. It was perfect to keep close to our bed and wheel around the house as necessary. Our baby was born in the summer so the breatheable sides were a great feature. Keeps its value as great quality. Would highly recommend.

Excellent bassinet for newborn – We have shared this bassinet for 6 newborns over 6 years. They have stayed in the bassinet for 6-7 months. The bassinet is spacious for a newborn and still big enough for a 7 month old. The breathable sides are excellent for when baby sleeps close to the sides without worrying about ventilation. Great design and wheels are very handy. My only… Read more

concern was that once baby was 6 months they picked at the Velcro on the side of the bassinet. It’s never broke but I don’t think it would last long if it continued. This told me baby was too big and needed a cot.

Perfect for our little one – This bassinet has gotten plenty of use. It's got a soft mattress and the fabric holding the mattress up is quality material. We rolled it up and down in and out of the bedroom for day and night sleeping and our baby slept very well in it. It's very convenient and we got a lot of comments on how nice it was. Highly recommended in terms of practicality, cost and quality.

Best thing we bought for our baby – I can say it was really the best thing we bought for our baby. it's safe and steady. Practical and easy to move between rooms in our apartment. easy to assemble and not a bulky thing. you can use it for rocking your baby to put her/him to sleep in a few minutes.

Excellent Bassinet – We love our Boori Urbane Bassinet, we used this for both our children and due to it's generous size they were able to use it until 6+ months. The mesh lining is great for airflow and the firm mattress is very comfortable. It is very handy being on wheels as you can easily move it from room to room.

Ideal for newborn – Great buy, can move from room to room with ease. I worried at first that it would be quite flimsy with the Velcro and sticks but actually really strong and well designed. Breathable mesh. Baby seems comfy and happy. Mesh is easily cleaned with damp cloth. Definitely will use again.

Great Bassinet for peace of mind – We originally purchased a Cot only with a bassinet as a maybe. Since we spent time in the hospital with mobile bassinets only - we saw the value in this item. Mind you the RRP is quite pricey and clearly does not last a baby long, we moved our bubba out after 3months. We absolutely loved the wheel options on the bassinet, had great airflow.… Read more

Also for our second child the option of changing out the mattress quite easily / at a cheap cost.

Highly recommend! Cant fault anything on this, super sturdy

Good quality and solid – Nice looking, sturdy bassinet, can rock mesh bassinet gently if required (although I don't think it was designed for this). Quite roomy, our 6 month old is just about to grow out of it. Only think is the mattress was hard and thin, but I think that is because of the safe sleeping guidelines.

Brilliant buy – Picked this up from John Lewis, Amazing buy Really good quality! Sturdy Really good size and dimensions Used on my baby in 2013, borrowed by a friend in 2015 And I'm using it again on my second baby, still looks brand new although has been moved around a lot I'm asked by everyone visiting where I purchased it, lovely buy!!

Great product – I love our boori urbane bassinet, it is a generous size, so can accommodate a larger baby. It comes with a firm comfortable mattress; the mesh basket also gives piece of mind as it is breathable. The mesh basket is also perfect as it has just enough give for a gentle rock when settling baby. We are using ours for the second time and have found it… Read more

convenient, easy to clean, and easy to put together. It also looks great as it's a very simple design without all the frills that some bassinets have.

Perfect for the early months – We are about to use this bassinet for the second time and it is still in great condition (even my sister has used it for her son). Assembly is similar to other flat pack furniture, but once it is up it is light and easy to move around, doesn't take up much room and looks great. Mattress is firm and the mesh sides are great to allow baby to breathe. Wheels and brakes work fine within the home. I have it in white.

Simple & Safe – The Boori Urbane Bassinet was our choice as it met all the requirements of the Choice safety test. Plus it's simple and elegant. The height is perfect for beside a bed, making night feeds much easier! Plenty of airflow through the mesh fabric which is easy to remove and clean. The wheels seem a bit flimsy but all bassinets seem to have similar wheels. Easy assembly, baby is comfortable & safe Hard to find bassinet sheets.

Weak timber, poor around bottom of bassinet – The structural integrity of the timber is weak, when hopping out of bed my feet hit a bottom piece of frame and it cracked both ends. Contacted boori who said warranty is 2 yrs however as I purchased it secondhand ( never used) they won't transfer warranty. Why put 2yr warranty on a product generally used for 6months max and then on sold. Style is… Read more

nice, it's roomy and baby seems comfortable. Structural integrity. If the wood is so weak redesign it so your feet don't hit it when you get out of bed in the middle of the night sleep deprived.

Unsteady product – It is a nice airy bassinet, however not sturdy, the wheels are cheap and plastic and can't be rolled smoothly to rock the baby to sleep, one even fell off and apart with a 4 week old baby in it, they are not screwed in,just pushed in, maybe if they took the time to screw in some sturdy metal wheels, problem solved. Not happy! Not safe

Nice modern looking bassinet – We have found this bassinet great. Our son finds it very comfortable and is still in at 4 months of age. We love the modern design. The bassinet is very breathable so perfect for summer. It is also handy that it can be wheeled around into different rooms. Modern, breathable, portable, comfortable
