1 splat6144  · Bought 2 of these at the same time thinking they would be good. Nothing but trouble, both control panels died.
4 Raj S.  · Good dishwasher – Good dishwasher with most dishes washed to a high standard. However at end of full cycle light 3 remains on due to low water pressure.
5 Shaheen  · Dishwasher – A really good dishwasher, great value for money spent , great service for instillation, very good quality . Black colour looks nice ,

Really pleased with this dishwasher – Have owned this dishwasher for 12 months now and really can't fault it. Having come from a no name brand dishwasher that would require a 2 1/2 hour wash cycle that would still leave some dishes requiring hand washing this Bosch was a welcome change. Installation was easier enough, I did have to enlarge the hole through the cabinetry to fit the hose as the hose does have a large plastic housing that covers the anti-flood valve that connects to the taps, not a big deal though.

The dishwasher itself runs whisper quiet, no drama's running it while the kids are sleeping. Love the cutlery draw as it frees up space down the bottom where you can put the optional cutlery basket. Worth noting that you can remove the cutlery tray to free up for room for the middle rack if needed but we've never required this. The middle basket has 3 adjustable levels anyway.

As far as washing goes it does a great job. Whilst we generally give dishes a bit of a pre-rinse we do only use the 60 min quick cycle and that does the job fine. The only thing it really struggles with is stuff like peanut butter on a knife in the cutlery draw, so we just hand wash those rather than increasing cycle or putting the knife elsewhere. We've put pots down the bottom that have poached eggs and have that quite stuck on egg and the pots come up like new.

It dries everything well expect the plastics, even with extra dry on it leaves a little bit of water on the bottom of what ever plastic item it is. Not really a big deal, just means I carry a tea towel in 1 hand when emptying the dishwasher to give a quick rub of the bottom of the plastic. I will add that this is if I'm unloading shortly after the cycle finishes, give it a few hours and it dries over that time anyway. Only other thing I will say is that the angles of the racks on the bottom are a little strange, they just seem slightly off to maximise space but that could be the style of plates and bowels we use too.

I would highly recommend this dishwasher 12 months in.

Not suitable for household that has loads of bowls – I just replaced by Miele dishwasher with this German made dishwasher. It is very quiet and user friendly. It's good if a household have most cutlery using plates. Unfortunately, 70-80% of our cutlery are bowls of 20-30cm in diameters. The spikes not designed to hold the bowls upright (90 degree), like the Miele dishwasher. Bosch spikes are holding at an 60 degree angle with the bowls overlapping each other. As such, you may have 10 spikes but can only hold 3 bowls if not overlapping. Due to this, water can't wash in between bowls properly. I've arranged them differently and washed them in the last couple of washes. Disappointed I've to waste time washing many of the bowls and drying them manually. Also, a lot of the remnants are deposited on in the washer. Very disappointed to have a German made premium dishwasher and manually washing my bowls.

I’ve had the Bosch Series 6 dishwasher for 1 day and I can honestly say it doesn’t live up to the hype of All the 5 star reviews and Choice magazine ratings. The middle shelf can’t accommodate anything tall in particular glasses, large wide coffee cups are difficult to balance with the angles provided in the racks and it can’t accommodate many… Read more

bowls without taking up much space. When you are a global manufacturer you need to look at what other types of dishes people use outside of Europe. The wash cycles are long and you need to remove the top tray if you want to wash tall dishes. Look elsewhere. Even after 2 washers I’m thinking of getting rid of it.

I bought the Bosch series 6 dishwasher after doing a lot of research and it being a stand out. Overall it's adequate but hasn't met my expectations. Initially I was going for an 8 series however appliances online kept delaying and extending… Read more

delivery times "due to supplier" so I opted for a local store which had the 6 in stock as I couldn't keep waiting. There were a few benefits of the 8 series I would've preferred but figured I'd get away with out them. ( I think it had drying assist and automatically opened after a cycle) The 6 series is adequate, one of the selling points for me was the warranty and quality which so far has been great, hopefully it stands the test of time. In terms of cleaning it's nothing to rave about, a standard auto wash goes alright, quick 1 hour does the job for essentially clean plates but nothing more, The heavy/soiled wash modes are abit underwhelming, I've had lightly and heavily soiled plates and pans go in to the wash for 2.5 to 3 hours and still come out with food and debris stuck on them regardless of what cleaning agents I use. I over looked the necessity of a finishing tone which I regret aha, I often forget I had a load on and when I come back to it hours later I've got wet dishes unless I use rinse aid which smells horrible and chemical, so I need to rely on myself opening the door to get them to dry best. Also something I overlooked at the time but didn't consider to much is the option to pause the cycle, if I add items as the cycle is going it often sprays water out, it's a minor issue but would certainly be beneficial and something is expect when paying as much for this. Prior to this I had a 10 year old fisher and paykel double draw dishwasher which in all honesty was better, even the quick 1 hour cycle I used religiously was more efficient than the auto wash cycle on the bosch. I thought with the Bosch being newer and high end I'd get a better result which is not the case, if I had my time again I'd opt for something else. Likely the F&P however reliability was a bit more hit and miss with them, As long as this Bosch dishwasher lasts me 10 years with out falling apart I'll be happy enough. However I wouldn't flat out recommend this model for cleaning and quality.

Follow-up  · It's not designed well to fit dishes of varying size and shapes, if the middle basket is low you can't get medium to larger plates below , if the middle basket is higher then you can only get few and small items in the middle basket and larger items on the bottom. I guess it fits large pots ok, however if you can have a few large pots there's… Read more

In Short: Bosch’s quality has slipped badly. Save your money — a cheaper dishwasher would have done the job just as well. My Full Review: I paid just under $1600 for this dishwasher (plus extended warranty), and the entire experience has been one headache after another. 1. Build quality is noticeably worse than the floor model I viewed - … Read more

The dish racks and some of build quality seemed lower. Note in one of my pictures you can see the red styling missing from the top tray, at some point after Bosch released this dishwasher they removed styling and made some of the plastics/metals cheaper. I noticed the metal rails used to hold the dish racks was lower in quality compared to the store version aswell. The metal on the inside of the door stained with water marks i can't wipe off.

2. Corroded water inlet - The first dishwasher arrived with a corroded inlet and used parts. Bosch replaced it… and the replacement had the same corrosion. This again added to the feeling of reduced manufacturing quality, I ended up accepting it though the retailer kindly offered a refund.

3. Poor fit and finish - The unit has uneven door alignment as mentioned by other reviews and a misaligned silicone seal on the right side. Not what you expect from a “premium” German brand.

4. Terrible documentation and even worse support - The manual places the “Before first use” instructions on page 26 instead of the quick‑start guide or I don't know say page 1... Really Bosch??. As a result, my first few washes came out chalky, and I wasted time troubleshooting a salt reservoir that isn’t even active in Australian models. Bosch phone support was useless — offshore, uninformed, and at one point gaslit me about features that don’t exist on the AU version. It took the retailer contacting a Bosch rep to confirm:

- The salt reservoir is disabled in Australian models - This model has no end‑of‑cycle chime

Yet Bosch’s app and website still tell you to add salt, which would just turn to sludge.

5. Auto wash is unreliable - Auto cycles are hit‑and‑miss. I’ve had dishes come out dirty or greasy. Adjusting sensitivity in the app helped a bit, but I shouldn’t have to tweak settings on a $1500 machine. I mostly use Quick Wash now because it’s the only cycle that consistently works.

6. Rinsing isn’t great - I’ve occasionally tasted detergent residue on plastic containers — not ideal.

7. Tablet recommendations are questionable - Bosch pushes Finish tablets, but I found Aldi Platinum cleans better, and Fairy Platinum Plus is the strongest.

These issues didn’t hit all at once — they stacked up over weeks and by the time I realized how many problems there were, I’d already invested too much time. The machine works okay, but nowhere near the standard I expected from Bosch. If I could go back, I’d buy a $500–$800 dishwasher and be just as happy. Bosch simply isn’t worth the premium anymore.

I really like this dishwasher, cleans well and i am terrible at rinsing but it powers through. Only issue is no rinse cycle & I have had to have service guy over 3 times now for the pump. The little skinny thing in middle under the cover can easily get stuck with debris, but like I said before I dont rinse hardly. But its quiet & draws pop up and down plus the top tray is awesome making this a 3 tray dishwasher. Show details

Excellent in every respect – We’ve had five Fisher & Paykel dishdrawers over about 30 years, but finally got sick of repair costs and the breakdown inconvenience. We’ve always liked the F&P design, so we were a bit apprehensive about going to the typical full front pull-down, especially as I’m tall. Super impressed by this Bosch Serie 6. Well laid out and typical of… Read more

European reputation, there’s clearly a lot of thought put into the design and features. We recommend the extra money for this model, which has a third, shallow pull out rack at the top. Great for cutlery and, not dissimilar to the attraction of dishdrawers, great to load things up without bending down. In fact, it’s even easier.

The middle main rack is adjustable for three heights. For lighter loads it means you can load the top two racks and not need to use the very bottom.

The range of programmes is staggering. We’re still experimenting on all the different wash cycles, but like many of these devices, there’s more than you’ll ever need. We’ve found we have sparkling results with just the basic cycle. We do pre-rinse plates, however, and have yet to put this to the test of a heavily dirty load.

Button layout and other features like wifi are good. Not essential for us, but it’s certainly fun to programme it from your phone. Can see the benefit for people who connect appliances into a smart home and/or want to minimise electricity usage by running it at lower power rates at night.

The biggest difference we’ve noticed is the noise. This is so QUIET. We have an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge and the old F&Ps always used to get noisy at parts of the cycle. When we first got the Bosch, we kept going back to it to check it was actually on!

Sometimes a brand switch after so many years is a bit difficult and jarring. For us, this has been an easy transition and we’re delighted with the choice.

I just ... LOVE IT!!! – So clean, so quite! No scraping, just rinsing a bit. I really want to work out the 29mins cycle (it turns to 44) , but for the rest, i just switch the auto and thats it. Comparing to my old, cheap and basic dishwasher, that was basically just storing the dishes that i had to wash again after taking out, the bosch one is incredible. Its actually does the freaking job!!! Love it! Hope it will last :) Show details

but if you need a little more room the option is there. The top rack can be moved down if you need, l do find that handy. It’s a good looking dishwasher with easy to read controls. The only thing l don’t like is if you have long stem wine glasses there’s really no place to put them neatly and l don’t like that. Due to that fact if l knew this l would have bought a different model, but there’s really nothing wrong with the machine.

Follow-up  · It is energy efficient and also handles large pots, it has many cycles which l don’t use all, my favourite is the one hour wash but pots and pans cycle is great for heavy soiled items. The only cycle it doesn’t have is rinse only which l will be looking for in my house that’s about to be built very soon.

Bought this to replace our previous near 20 year old Bosch dishwasher. It's the same layout inside the top and bottom shelves and we did not buy the one with the top cutlery draw as that's pretty useless in our opinion (YMMV) This new one washes just as well as the old one but it's much, quieter which is a real bonus. The controls are now simply… Read more

electronic push button which work well now but I have my doubts they'll be as reliably long lasting as the old machine. Time will tell.

We've found we have to use the Extra Dry function to get the dishes as dry as they used to be before.

There are a few annoyingly frustrating things though which may or may not influence your own decision. On the older dishwasher if the bottom shelf was not completely pushed in it used to roll into the machine as the the door was closed with no hassle. Now Bosch have redesigned the interior stainless steel lining and you hear a big bang as a projection on that liner tries to break a piece off the tray.

The left side knife shelf on the top tray used to flip up vertically to make it easy to place or remove cups that fitted below it. Now it only folds up a small amount making it a pain to use the space below it.

The cutlery shelf on the right side of the upper tray used to simply flip up vertical and flip back down as required. Now when it flips vertical it's designed to slide downward requiring extra movements to get it back in place.

How I was wishing I'd kept the top tray from my old machine but sadly I didn't.

And also the older machine left a single light illuminated on the front when the wash was finished which reminded you to empty it if it had been put on overnight or when you'd been out. This new one doesn't, you just have to remember.

So in the end I'd still recommend this dishwasher but with reservations re above which may be deal breakers for you plus the advice that you open/close and push/pull everything you can see in every dishwasher you look at before deciding.

It cost us $1400 and we don't even get 3 years out of it....this has to be some kind of joke...my washing machine and dryer have 10 year warranties annd this is 2 years? It is an absolute joke. In what universe could I buy anything for $1400 and put up with the fact it has not lasted 3 years. The previous Dishlex which was $599 lasted 13 years before we replaced it with the BOSCH. I would never buy another bosch ANYTHING let alone a dishwasher - which according to everyone who knows - are the best. Doesn't matter how good they are if they don't last. Exceeded Expectations! – You might be wondering - ‘Why bother reviewing an obsolete dishwasher model?’ but you just never know what someone may find useful! run-out model in 2007 or so and it has operated without even one fault until Feb 2025! For an item that is only meant to last a decade I appreciate that it chugged on these extra years.

Don’t get me wrong, part of the longevity of this particular dishwasher has been diligence and attention to detail. Good detergent, regular housekeeping and ensuring debris is removed from dishes prior to loading have helped get this far without one service call. We have never been overly fussy with dishes (only removing larger food particles by scraping) and we absolutely never rinsed dishes prior to loading. The wash quality has been faultless, and all wash settings operated with acceptable efficiency. We have not had issues with clogging or build up, using Finish dishwasher cleaner every few months kept the interior fairly fresh.

The brushed stainless steel effect fascia stayed fingerprint free and in good condition, while remaining low maintenance even with littler hands and paws around. As long as any spills are cleaned with haste there should be no issues cosmetically. Wiping the seal or door edge with a microfibre cloth or kitchen towel when wash cycle is complete keeps it immaculate with minimal effort.

I immediately started my search for a replacement with the Bosch Serie 6 and will post a comprehensive review after 4 weeks for comparison.

I am absolutely rapt with the performance of this dishwasher and can only hope that the next one follows in kind.

and rather than getting used to it, I grow more and more disappointed. Compared to its older sister, the SMS66JI01A, it simply does not measure up, does not compare. I used to love Bosch; loved Bosch for years. I have had two previous dishwashers; a previous dryer to the washer/dryer I have now. Their customer service was always great. However, the interior setup of this newer model of dishwasher is extremely disappointing to the point of frustrating. The different fold-down sections are not as accommodating, and I badly miss the knife tray. I was going to try to use the one out of the old machine but my son is too quick to clean up; it's gone. Yet, even if I did have it, you cannot fit anything in there or in the tray on the opposite side while the top cutlery tray is in; and you especially cannot fit wine glasses. I find that tray a total waste of space. The cutlery basket is all that is required, and you can carry it to the cutlery drawer instead of walking back and forth. I have removed the telescopic runners for it, but of course that still leaves the bracket and wheels which fouls on anything too high in the main top basket. Nevertheless, I am going to pay the $60+ for a new knife tray and leave out that cutlery thing forever. Curse the bracket and wheels! They most certainly attempted to fix something that was not broken.

I’ve followed all the recommended maintenance and cleaning guidelines, so it’s incredibly frustrating to see these ongoing issues. Investing in what’s marketed as a high-quality appliance no longer seems worth it. At this point, I might as well buy a cheaper model for a few hundred dollars and replace it every few years.

No customer service support for problems – No customer support available for Bosch dishwasher in Australia, 5 years old. No support for issues, several service providers unavailable and no online support for troubleshooting. Will never buy a Bosch appliance again

Avoid buying Bosch – Totally junk. Warranty contractor turned up and diagnosed that computer board failure. Paid $170 for call out, because it's 3rd year and just out of warranty. We have to purchase a new one instead of costy repairing. Show details

Rubbish dishwasher – Absolute junk. Ours even when stacked very lightly does not clean well. Then it seems to not rinse properly so everything ends up smelling like detergent.

Very happy – So far this dishwasher has been great. Very quiet, but have not used all the programs yet. The extra dry function does not completely dry everything. Loving the cutlery drawer, tho including a cutlery basket too is a waste of time. I dont rinse b4 i put stuff in just scrape, only if caked on. But overall, I am very happy with it and its easy to use. Show details

Reliability and servicing issues – We purchased a Bosch Series 6 dishwasher in Feb this year. We have had Miele and Asko dishwashers before (generally very good), but purchased the Bosch product after talking to sales staff and liking the black finish. Not a great decision so far. The unit broke down 3 weeks ago (all lights on and no response from keyboard). We have been advised… Read more

that Bosch do not have the spare parts required and that it will likely be after 9 August until they arrive. So 5 weeks with no dishwasher. Do they care? Poor performance from Bosch who market their brand as reliable and 'up market'.
