This is my second “made in Germany” Bosch appliance to fail conveniently just after the warranty period. The dreaded E31-00 water leak detected error. Started after a maintenance clean. Machine has been well kept and maintained however yet again… Read more
another Bosch appliance that has failed. I just hope this isn’t like my other replacement that had a faulty board which was going to cost more to replace than a new appliance. If my experience to date is anything to go by, avoid Bosch appliances unless you want to replace them every couple of years.
Follow-up · Absolutely abysmal service from a “premium” brand. Even though I have spoken with a number of people, no one has bothered to raise a case - though can’t explain how it was then possible my dishwasher has made it to a service repair centre without anything in their systems to begin with. I am now pointing out my ACL protections and it would appear… Read more
For 2 years ( 998 washing cycles), the unit worked flawlessly. Maintained according to the user manual. Filters cleaned. Machine cleaned using Bosch products. Unfortunately the dreaded E31 code is now showing up with the red tap. When device is unplugged (after few days), the error goes away and express wash programme works . Any programme … Read more
longer than 90 mins. E31 code returns. Even cleaned AquaStop filter. We are a family of 4 and we cook and entertain a lot. Reliable dishwashing solution is the main reason why we purchased this unit.
Reliability and servicing issues – We purchased a Bosch Series 6 dishwasher in Feb this year. We have had Miele and Asko dishwashers before (generally very good), but purchased the Bosch product after talking to sales staff and liking the black finish. Not a great decision so far. The unit broke down 3 weeks ago (all lights on and no response from keyboard). We have been advised… Read more
that Bosch do not have the spare parts required and that it will likely be after 9 August until they arrive. So 5 weeks with no dishwasher. Do they care? Poor performance from Bosch who market their brand as reliable and 'up market'.

Deceitful Bosch technicians – Being a user of Bosch dishwasher for over a decade, I was initially impressed with the new Bosch Serie 6 Freestanding Dishwasher SMS6HCB01A installed on 28/12/22. Similar to observations made by the other reviewers, I have noted that the dishwasher is so quiet even on an intensive wash cycle that I had to check several times to ensure it was still… Read more
running. Approximately 15 months later, I noticed the dishwasher was emitting a loud grinding noise and took a few videos before I arranged for a technician to attend. On 22/3, a Bosch technician attended and dismissed the issue, claiming that it was a ‘normal’ working noise, despite the dishwasher being recorded at a noise level of >55dB, which was much higher than the advertised ‘44dB’ when working. I was also reprimanded for 'not loading the dishes properly'. I was questioned why I did not purchase a Series 8 dishwasher if I was so concerned about the noise level. Suggesting that my expectations for noise levels are unrealistic is insulting and fails to address the fundamental issue at hand. Nevertheless, I told him that I wanted a black dishwasher to match my renovation and this was the only Bosch model that was available in black at the time of purchase. After the technician left, I went onto Bosch's website and followed the troubleshooting instructions listed under 'grinding noise'. This includes cleaning to ensure the pump impeller is free from debris and food particles. As the loud grinding noise persisted after rigorous cleaning, I arranged for another technician as research revealed that it could be mechanical if blockage is excluded. The second technician attended 23/4 and again dismissed any abnormal operating noise. When I provided a video of the noise level averaging 54dB on an empty load vs. the advertised working noise of 44dB, he immediately attributed it to food blockage. I explained the dishwasher had been cleaned and free of food and debris, and urged him to do a confirmatory check to exclude this possibility. I explained that grinding noises are more likely mechanical, such as faulty circulation or drain pumps. Without any verification, he proceeded to replace the heat pump and took off once it was replaced. Despite expressing concerns about potentially unresolved issues and urging him to stay another 10 minutes to allow confirmation, he left. A review of security footage showed he was on-site for approximately 40 minutes. I would have thought at least an hour be allocated for a full and thorough investigation, and the issue should be properly assessed and resolved before moving to another job. Furthermore, I did raise my concerns about potential mechanical issues warranting the need to replace either the circulation pump or drain pump under ‘additional notes’ when I requested a technician visit. Barely 10 minutes after he had left, the subsequent increment in noise level to 62dB, along with persistent loud grinding sound, clearly indicates a mechanical failure. I immediately called Bosch but was reprimanded for having ‘unrealistic expectations’ for the noise level. When I realized the technician had left something behind, I updated him on the issue but was advised to call Bosch and schedule another technician visit as he is moving on to other jobs. I have reviewed the technician's report. Whilst I fully acknowledge and agree that an intensive cycle is undeniably louder than other cycles, I find it hard to justify that the discrepancy is found to increase from 44dB to 62dB on a quiet cycle vs. an intensive cycle. One would expect 50dB for an intensive cycle to be more reasonable, especially when the machine is advertised as a ‘Silence Plus’ model. Furthermore, I found the technicians' behaviour and approach to the issue to be highly unsatisfactory. Instead of thoroughly investigating the problem and ensuring a proper resolution, they seemed more concerned with deflecting blame and adhering to questionable KPIs. Blaming the customer for perceived faults before considering manufacturing or mechanical issues is unacceptable and reflects poorly on Bosch's commitment to customer satisfaction. I have contacted the retailer for a refund and will escalate to the Office of Fair Trading after 2 weeks if this remains unresolved.

The best dishwasher I’ve owned – This dishwasher is great. Looks lovely in the black. Is super quiet when in use. Cleans dishes well. Has excellent cycles. The quick cycle works well. Show reply
Great dishwasher, easy to use! – We bought this dishwasher 3 months ago and are very happy. It is quiet and effective. Settings are easy to work out and use. Filter is easy to clean. We love the cutlery tray at the top. We just use it without needing to think about it, which is perfect in our eyes! The cherry on top is the black finish means that it is a breeze the keep the… Read more · 1
outside looking clean. I’ve struggled in the past with stainless steel finish appliances getting rust spots or scratches, and the black means this is no longer a problem!
Definitely would recommend.
Not what I expected – The actual machine is beautiful and quiet. Doesnt always dissolve dishwashing tablet on quick cycle. As a mum of two toddlers the biggest issue for me(silly me did not check this before purchase) that it has a child lock for the door(awesome) however toddlers prefer pushing buttons and you cannot lock that(like on a washing machine or even on our… Read more
old dishwasher). So toddler comes up and turns off machine(which I dont hear because machine is quite) or just resets the whole machine. very very annoying. For families with under 4yrs old 110% I would not recommend this dishwasher because of this simple reason. Otherwise a good machine.
Worst dishwasher – I am so disappointed in this dishwasher. I thought I had researched well. No. I much prefer to hand wash the dishes for better results and quicker. In the dishwasher everything is still wet. Plates, cutlery, utensils, but mostly, plastics as if straight out of the sink. I have never had such a bad experience with a dishwasher. Had it for over 6… Read more
months and can’t wait for the day it dies and I can get one that works. Cutlery does not clean properly either. It had great functions but no difference. Even on the extra dry setting I have to hand dry when getting them out. It’s not worth even using it. Steer clear of this one. Don’t waste your money. I will go back to Miele or Fisher & Paykel.
