The heat pump stopped working after 3 years. Calling Bosch customer service was a waste of time and effort. Customer callback system doesn’t work . No callback for over a week . Call dropped while talking to first agent who didn’t try calling back. Eventually spoke to someone but long story short , neither the product nor the customer service was worth the premium price . The outlet started to leak, and after 1 week of contacting Bosch, they still haven't done anything. I got a call from Bosch, the support was a disgrace. I had to call my own plumber, who advised I needed to call bosch, and again, nothing from bosch. The support is terrible. Still leaking today Show details

Slow / poor operating interface ham strings this dishwasher – Unfortunately this latest gen dishwasher is hamstrung by its poor operating interface. This is a premium expensive dishwasher, upsides it's super quiet. Downsides, the operation interface with flat touch sensitive electronic buttons is very slow to react so you assume it's not responding at all. Then you end up in a feverishly attempting other… Read more
button options without success either until you brick it. We've had to reboot this a few times now via the power point. Doesn't dry great either, but I think thats more a result of becoming super 'power efficient' and a common complaint these days with dish washers in general. Not recommended.
Reliable, quiet but make sure you use the right setting! – When our old Miele dishwasher died we had to make a quick decision about what to replace it with - and it needed to be in stock. Given we have Bosch appliances in the laundry, we decided to stick with it. I was apprehensive, given I'm usually inclined to invest quite a bit of time into research, but am generally happy with our decision to go with… Read more
this dishwasher.
THE GOOD
It's quiet ----------- I do enjoy the fact that we can leave it on at night and it doesn't disturb anyone.
It cleans the dishes well -------------------------- We do make an effort to clear dishes before popping them into the dishwasher, but they do come out clean after the cycle. The only issue we have is with peanut butter and avocado on cutlery.
Cleaning the filter is easy peasy ---------------------------------- The filter is easy to access and simply pops out.
The utensil rack is fab ------------------------ If you're a 'group utensils together by category', orderly sort of person, like me, you'll love the utensil rack. It fits lots of items in it, and then makes putting them away easy. However, it you're more 'just chuck 'em in and hope for the best' inclined, maybe stick with the utensil basket instead.
THE NOT SO GOOD
Plastics remain wet -------------------- Our old Miele actually did a better job of drying plastics than this. Even if we leave it open after the load's done, the plastics need to be dried with a tea towel. It's annoying, and I wish there was a solution. I hate drying dishes.
The adjustable rack is...meh ----------------------------- The idea makes sense. Put bigger pots and platters in the bottom and adjust the top rack to make room. For some reason, I can't be bothered attempting this and just never use this function.
A word of warning - use the right setting! ------------------------------------------ We are notorious for choosing appliances with a range of features that we convince ourselves we'll use, and then end up sticking to the same one each time. Unfortunately we took this route with our dishwasher for the first few months, defaulting to the 'Auto Intense' setting. 'Intense' must mean better right? Wrong. It wasn't until my mum asked why our dishes were chipped and cloudy that I made the connection between selecting an overly powerful dishwasher setting and the damage to our dishes. After reading the manual I realised that 'Auto Wash' was the setting to use for every day dishes. See attached pic. Oops.
Would I recommend this dishwasher? -------------------------------------- Sure. It generally does the job, looks good in the kitchen, and delivers sufficient value for money.
Best appliance I Own – So after many many many hours of research, I brought this dishwasher. Everything about this dishwasher, is fantastic. How easy the filters are to clean. The shelves are great, the design of the draws how they hold dishes. I honestly couldn’t say there is one thing I don’t like this dishwasher. Trust me I wished I could come up with something… Read more · 1
I really don’t like. There is something, I hate myself for not buying one and meaning this Bosch Dishwasher way earlier
Excellent in every respect – We’ve had five Fisher & Paykel dishdrawers over about 30 years, but finally got sick of repair costs and the breakdown inconvenience. We’ve always liked the F&P design, so we were a bit apprehensive about going to the typical full front pull-down, especially as I’m tall. Super impressed by this Bosch Serie 6. Well laid out and typical of… Read more
European reputation, there’s clearly a lot of thought put into the design and features. We recommend the extra money for this model, which has a third, shallow pull out rack at the top. Great for cutlery and, not dissimilar to the attraction of dishdrawers, great to load things up without bending down. In fact, it’s even easier.
The middle main rack is adjustable for three heights. For lighter loads it means you can load the top two racks and not need to use the very bottom.
The range of programmes is staggering. We’re still experimenting on all the different wash cycles, but like many of these devices, there’s more than you’ll ever need. We’ve found we have sparkling results with just the basic cycle. We do pre-rinse plates, however, and have yet to put this to the test of a heavily dirty load.
Button layout and other features like wifi are good. Not essential for us, but it’s certainly fun to programme it from your phone. Can see the benefit for people who connect appliances into a smart home and/or want to minimise electricity usage by running it at lower power rates at night.
The biggest difference we’ve noticed is the noise. This is so QUIET. We have an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge and the old F&Ps always used to get noisy at parts of the cycle. When we first got the Bosch, we kept going back to it to check it was actually on!
Sometimes a brand switch after so many years is a bit difficult and jarring. For us, this has been an easy transition and we’re delighted with the choice.
A fantastic appliance that does exactly what it’s meant to in the best form – Purchased this dishwasher to replace a non functioning Smeg appliance. Right away the quality of the dishwasher worked! Didn’t have to pre-rinse, plenty of storage space and functional hight adjusting trays. It’s also super quiet (even when silent mode isn’t in operation). Show details
Very Good - No Negatives – This unit replaced our Kleenmaid which we had for about 15 years and it had been an exceptional appliance. We've had this Bosch Series 6 machine for 8 months and it has performed flawlessly. We are a 2 person household but we do a moderate amount of entertaining and use the appliance about 3 times a week. We like the features and controls, and… Read more
find it easy to use. Beware, and this is mentioned in the Instructions, to avoid leaning against the front of the machine because the control panel can be 'activated' by mild pressure. Dish stacking storage is very good and accommodates a wide variety of dish and utensil sizes and the tray for washing knives/cutlery/ tongs etc is a great feature and operates very well. The bottom drawer can be removed effortlessly. This is very important as the Instructions suggest cleaning the filters (the perforated metal panel and the plastic insert in the floor of the washing compartment) after every wash. We didn't do so at first and from experience found that it is essential to do this. If you don't do it the final rinse water might be left in the base of the machine. This is caused when the perforated metal filter gets clogged because it was not removed and cleaned as recommended in the Instructions. Removal and cleaning of the filter is a very simple task. The appliance is super quiet and washes the dishes to our complete satisfaction. There is no need to rinse dishes first, but it is wise to scrape off solid material. The appliance is built in Germany and we're very happy with the built quality and design features and it now remains to be seen if it gives us the reliability and longevity we experienced with the Kleenmaid. Recommended.
LOVE IT – Our old Bosch series just died after about 9 yrs of everyday use. That thing was a tank lol We couldn't get that series anymore since it's been discontinued so we went with the 6. It has the same perks and dimensions and appears to be the newer sibling. After having owned it for 3m now: The things i like: - This thing can get ANYTHING clean… Read more · 1
lol I don't pre-rinse anything ever and it always comes out perfect. (NB it's only kryptonite appears to be avocado. It doesn't like it and struggles to get it off plates and esp cutlery but this is literally it's only weakness that we've found- Its predecessor the Series 8 had the same issue.) - EVERYTHING fits in it, and if we need to drop the draws we can easily do so to accomodate taller items eg soup pots and big plates. -Its a nice looking unit. We got Stainless steel and I like that it has the bar across the handle so hand prints aren't visible on the stainless like some other brands have. - It came with a standing cutlery rack as well as the top draw. - The settings are easy to use and understand. - ITS SERIOUSLY QUIET! I had no idea it was even running when I came home till my husband told me the knife I was looking for was in the dishwasher being washed. And I thought our old series 8 was quiet!- This one is next level! - It does a great job washing the dishes. Nothing ever comes out unclean. - It only does a very small chime when it's done to say it's done. My old one beeped 3 times to let me know but this one is whisper quiet. - It has a super intense little bit at the front of the top draw for getting up inside taller cups etc. This is super helpful for drinks like milks and protein shakes etc that tend to stick to the cup
Things that could be better; - There appears to be a mini delay between pressing the button to turn the machine on (ie the power button) and then it actually registering and actually turning on. Its only a second or 2 but it makes me double press it sometimes because I guess I'm used to my old series 8 which had a slightly faster response time.
Good – I have had the issue with the rinse aid globbing down the dishes at the very end of the wash and remaining on the pots, see photos. I managed to get the dispenser reluctantly replaced under warranty while they claimed that can't happen???. I have altered this review to give an update on it's performance. It seems to be working well now after the rinse aid dispenser was replaced. Good racks easy in and out. Show details · 2
