Poor quality, an absolute disappointment and an eye sore in our otherwise beautiful kitchen – Our freestanding cooker is cheap quality. The stovetop in particular is impossible to get it looking clean despite the fact I have purchased all BOSCH products and cleaned as per manual. My previous stove which was 40+ years old was in better condition and I’ve had this one for just over a year but been frustrated with it since almost day one. Show details
TERRIBLE PRODUCT, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! – Normally not one to post a review but I can’t keep this to myself any longer. My oven broke, just stopped turning on, on the 2nd of May this year. I paid $250 for an emergency repair tech to come out, and he diagnosed the Main PCB was faulty, a part that would need to be ordered. He said it was very strange since the oven was little more than 2… Read more
years old and is a main component that should not fail in this timeframe. I then spoke to Bosch customer service the next day and they said they would escalate to a repair partner under warranty. Felt good at this stage in the game about how things were progressing. BOSCH even told me they would refund the service call out fee.
The repair partner has been so slow to respond, eventually they came out on the 1st of June, ONE MONTH LATER!? They guy spent 5 minutes and said it was a timer issue, news to me, but he is the “expert”. I was surprised that he hadn’t brought the part I had told them was broken. He left and we didn’t hear anything for over a week. After chasing them up by phone for an update they told us they would order the part and would be back to install within 10 days once it had arrived. I was pretty disappointed at this point since, if I hadn’t called them to ask what was happening they still wouldn’t have even ordered the part! At this point we’re now 1.5 months without an oven.
Skip forward another fortnight and on the 28th of June they finally came back, and guess what? The part they replaced wasn’t the issue! Surprise surprise, after I had told them 2 months prior that the initial service tech had told them it was the Main PCB! The guy leaves and tells us he will expedite the part to be back asap.
Another week passes and I still haven’t heard anything from them so I call again, and they tell me they are waiting on approval?!? Despite BOSCH telling me they had already provided this. I go back and forth between BOSCH and the service repair provider and I wonder how or why this is my job now 2 months down the track to be chasing these people to get my oven working again.
It’s now 2 months and 1 week since my oven has broken, and I have no idea if and when it will be working again. BOSCH are still yet to refund the original service call out fee also, although I’m told this is “being processed”. The BOSCH customer service department seem indifferent in their attitude towards a resolution for me, and the service partner Endeavour refrigeration and appliances are unapologetic about their response timeframes and for my need for the oven to be repaired ASAP, they are now estimating they will be coming out again on the 15th of July, 2.5months after the oven broke. I have requested express shipment of parts, but I will not hold my breath…. The saga continues.
DISAPPOINTED ! – Purchased Bosch HSB838357A oven in Nov 2020. Cooktop gas burner works fine. Oven used only about 6 time since purchase and then on 8 June, my wife tried to turn on the oven and it would not turn on at all. i checked all i could with no luck so called Bosch to request service call. They sent out AGWS, and the tech diagnosed the issue to be on… Read more
the control board. Waited a week for replacement, same tech came out and after about 3 hrs and 2 additional techs, the issue remained and this time the problem was diagnosed to be the the rotors switch. Another week later, same tech turns up and after about 15 mins, he says it’s still not working after replacing the 2nd part. 2 other techs arrive in about 1/2 hr and the first tech arrives a little later, and they all leave without any resolution. They advised that they will send their report to Bosch in an hr. So after 3 weeks and 2 parts replaced, we still don’t have a working oven i have called Bosch several times and asked to escalate this to senior mgmt and asked that they either replace the unit or provide a refund. It was a bad choice going with bosch as our previous De’longhi oven lasted us 20 years and i only had to replace the rotary switch on the oven after about 15 years.
Reading other reviews here and it is clear that i’m not the only one disappointed and completely dissatisfied with Bosch Product.

Design fault with Bosch Oven model HSB838357A – Two weeks ago I wrote to this site about a fault with the fan force setting on my new oven. Bosch Customer Service had been incapable of resolving the issue over several weeks. Bosch apparently monitors social media reviews and a representative contacted me by return who arranged for a new machine to be delivered. The new oven was installed this… Read more
week but, sadly, the same fault exists. I wrote again to the Bosch representative, asking what options Bosch could now offer. Four days later there has been no reply. Much as I like the functionality of this oven, it seems clear that this model has Inherent design problems and I am not inclined to enter into protracted negotiations with Bosch to have them resolved. Accordingly I plan to return the oven and ask the retailer, Appliances Online, to supply a different brand. Peter Turvey
Disappointed – We had a Bosch HSB838357A 900 cm upright stove installed last week. From the first time we used the oven we were dismayed. Once the oven has reached the required temperature, the thermostat then clicks on and off at 30 - 60 second intervals. (And the click is loud enough to be heard from a couple of rooms away). I contacted Support at Bosch… Read more
who advised it sounded like it was part of the normal function of the oven, as it was maintaining the correct temperature. I queried why an oven of this calibre would need to re-set so frequently. My neighbour has a large oven that cost about a third of the price of ours and has no such issue with it! My daughter has a Bosch (similar size, different model) and the thermostat manages to maintain a constant temperature and certainly doesn't make a constant, irritating noise. We logged a service call, thinking that there had to be a fault with this stove, however the serviceman said, that although the noise was quite loud, it appeared to be "normal" for this particular oven. To say we are disappointed is an understatement.
So far so good – Cooks stuff, easy to use. Stove works well. Oven works well. Bit smaller than other ovens the same size, but has not failed yet. Cakes came out evenly cooked. Pizza was cooked correctly too. Even temperature. Glass is not hot when the oven is on either. We've only had it for a month though. Turns on and off when you want. Beeps when oven… Read more · 1
hits the right temperature. Settings are intuitive and easy to use. You can honestly use it without needing to refer to the manual each time. Although you should read it the first time. Can be cleaned. Parts seem robust enough.
Great new cooker – We needed to replace our Lofra cooker who was giving us problems for the last few months. I am big fan of Bosch and looked into their line. I looked into different options like Miele, Fisher $ Paykel and Westinghouse. However the Costumer reviews were all mix bag. Bosch seems to be more positive reviews than other brands. We bought the Cooker from… Read more
Good guys. The delivery was excellent. The cooker was all well packed and the guys removed the old cooker which was a bonus.
Installation: For the installation you will need an electrician and a plumber who has a Gas installation certificate. Unfortunately the electric/ Power cord was very short which cause a bit of issues. The Cooker needs to be hard wired (according to the new regulations). The electrician was considering to install a plug as our old Cooker however the cooker is much more powerful and needed 20 A connection. So people needs to be aware that a 20 A circuit will be needed which we were not told about.
Use: We have used the Cooker for nearly 2 weeks now and so far so good. The cooker is very pretty and stylish. All six gas burners work extremely well. Smooth start and easy to control burners. The Cooker comes with wok and additional attachment for pots - well thought.
The oven is extremely powerful and heats very fast. What took us to cook for 60- 90 min, now due to early heat time, the cooking time is much shorter. The Cooker comes supplied with Rotisserie..another great feature.
The cooker comes with Self clean function which is still to be used.
What we dislike: Apart of the short power cord and poor installation manual, we expected to have some cooking book or manual. This was not supplied.
The stainless steel seems not to be brushed and easily attracts fingerprints.
November 5th 2018 Update: Problems are creeping up
This is an update to my previous review.
We had now the Cooker for over 2 months. It still cooks well but I had to take a star down for the following reasons.
1 I noticed a rust coming on on one of the parts - I was really surprised. This is a new Cooker and we don't have much rust around the house. Besides our previous cooker never showed any size of wear until it died;
2 Also the stickers around the knobs started to peel off. We have a 10 year old BBQ which is used quite often the marking is still intact..the same with our old cooker.
3 I contacted Bosch about the problems and already 2 weeks I haven't heard from them. This is really disappointing since I liked Bosch. We have a few equipment around the house and they usually last...Not this Cooker. I am disappointed and probably if I was on the market for new Cooker, I'll look somewhere else.
