Bosch 652L Side by Side KAN92VI30A (Stainless Steel) Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: KAN92VI30AWhat is the reasonable life expectancy of a Bosch fridge? I found these reviews, in looking for repair options as my 8 year old Bosch KAD62V70AU has just died. I’m feeling very ripped off that a supposed good quality brand only lasted 8 years. Then I see all these reviews where other Bosch fridges have lasted far less! Is 8+ years an unreasonable expectation for Bosch?
Hi, I bought the side by side and got less than 2 years usage. Still under warranty. It's not just the fridge that doesnt work, neither does their customer service. 12 weeks to get a replacement and not 1 call made by Bosch to me. I had to make call after call after call. I would not buy ANY bosch appliance in the future, due to their unreliabilty and useless warranties and non existant customer service. I wish I had read the reviews before buying.
Hi Glen H., Thank you for your question. As you can appreciate as with any manufactured appliance, it is impossible to prevent an isolated case of failure during the lifespan of the product. With that said we encourage you to contact us directly as we'd be happy to review your matter. We offer assistance to all of our customers irrespective of any warranties customers may or may not have. We're happy to assess each claim on a case by case basis, and review each matter individually to provide a suitable resolution. Hi What The, Thank you for the feedback. We're so sorry to hear of your dealings, as this is certainly not the service experience we're wanting our customers to have. We've had our Bosch fridge (same as yours) for 7 years (bought 09:12:2015) and it has now comprehensively failed. Bosch recommended repair people said it needs 2 new boards at a cost of $761. Not good enough. The last Bosch appliance we will buy.
Jubus, mine was the compressor; common failure point for fridges / air cons etc. but there are good compressors and cheap junk ones. Same with circuit boards. I would have thought a good brand would source quality components.
How long do you expect a fridge to last? I have been told by various retail assistants that these days 7-10 years is the best you can expect from most fridges.
Billy, That’s my point: why pay more for a ‘high quality’ brand like Bosch if it only lasts the same as a cheaper one. I paid more with the expectation of a longer life; that didn’t eventuate, due to a common failure point (the compressor).
Is this fridge made in China or in Germany? Thanks
It’s made in China.
Given what China has caused to the rest of the world, I think it is time that we should consider where stuff is made, whether or not under strict non Chinese quality standards, I have a Bosch fridge, also made in China and it is not comparable to the reliable Bosch we bought in the UK made in Germany. That aside, given what China is trying to do to Australia, we should do the same to them. Don't buy Chinese if you can! I see other well known white good brands are manufacturing in Thailand - I would support the Thai economy over the Chinese one any day!
