Mower worked well until battery failed 6mts out of warranty – Mower worked very well until battery failed at 2 and half years. A very good Bosch product that is a very good replacement for a traditional mower. Sadly the 36v battery died after 2.5 years. I expected better as all my 18v Bosch tools are going on 10 years old. Mostly good after 5 years – My close fried and I have both owned 43Is for about 5 years. Mine is still going strong, but her battery was damaged in the recent Brisbane floods. (Surprisingly the mower still works.) The catcher is flimsy and is hard to unload. The plastic "wheel bearings" on my friends mower failed after about 2 years as did the red toggles on the push… Read more
handle. Both the front tabs on the battery compartment lids on both mowers have broken off. Mine struggles to do my full lawn areas of about 500m2 and is very easy to bog down if the grass is long or slightly wet. If you have a bigger yard you definitely need a second battery- but they are very expensive from Bosch. Not sure if I would buy another....
8 years and still going strong – I have had this lawnmower for the last 8 years and the battery power is still good. The blade has gone blunt and that reduced its efficiency. Overall great product and now thinking to upgrade it to a newer model. Show details
Good product for small size lawn!! – This Lawn mower is very handy for small size lawn. I bought it for my old man who lives in two bedroom apartment and has no grass at the front but small lawn at the back. He absolutely loves it. Although he is in love with this but when i tried this on my average size backyard it was struggling to mow. So would only recommend this product to people who have small yards. A full charge batter can last for about 15 to 20 mins. Show details
Great little mower for small yard – I purchased this little mower for my front small yard. It does a great job, I mow regularly so am able to leave the catcher off. My only criticism is that the 2 mainonoff switch needs to be held in for the duration , which requires both hands to do so. This makes life difficult since one has to continually stop the mowing process in order to… Read more
move the electric lead out of the way. A bit of a nuisance to say the least. You could get the job done in half the time with a more thoughtful design hre
Very happy – Very happy. Use it to do around the pool and path edges. But inlove it so much i use it for the entire yard over winter as it is so ligt and easy to use. Struggles a bit in long thick sir walter but still cuts fine. Highly recommend. Great Show details
Still working great after a year use – Great electric lawn mover. Pros: - Battery still running good after an year use. I can use it for my whole big backyard, decent size front yard and nature strip. - Powerful enough to cut through the grass - Great customer support - Light weight and easy to clean Cons: - Wheel axle started rusting - Pricey option compared to others Show details
Motor spins a few times then stops, give it a month maybe two and it starts again sales and services – Motor keeps stopping then spins a couple of times then stops again.give it a month or two then it works fine again.dont know if Bosch are aware or not but the grass keeps growing!sales and service pathetic no wonder they lost the war with machines like this, tanks would only fire on certain days. Great Lawnmower but not AL 3640 CV Charger – I had exactly the same problem as the previous reviewer (Roger on Nov 23 2016) - the AL 3640 CV charger suddenly stop working after 4 years while the lawnmower is going just fine (the lawnmower is not that often used over the 4 years). Followed Roger's comments and located the original article… Read more
(http://galooph.com/blog/2015/11/13/repairing-a-bosch-al-3640-cv-charger/), I have managed to replace the 1W 180k resistor and got the charger working again! $0.25 instead of $190 for new charger is something unbeatable. Agreeing with Roger that Bosch should have better solutions/warnings on this problem for their customers. Thank you Roger and gallooph for sharing your tips/solutions!!!
Grass jams the edge of blade – I really like Bosch cordless power tools but unfortunately this time, I am a bit disappointed. It's not a problem with Bosch, rather the overall electric mower is still rather under powered. I had high hopes for the mower but it regularly jams due to grass being stuck against the blade and the corner where it egresses into the collector. This mean… Read more
constantly turning it over, to clear it by hand - or cutting in 2 passes, gradually. The blade is also extremely light weight and easily dents.
The concept is great however, very light and easy to maneauvor around but I think it just isn't mature enough to handle grass we have here. A more powerful motor and battery combination, might resolve the problem but I think this is suitable for most suburban flat light lawns however stuff we have around the sub-tropics and farms, needs a lot more grunt.
An amazing cordless mower – This is an amazing cordless mower. Lightweight, functional and easy to handle. The battery lasts. I have roughly 200 sqm of lawn to mow and it eats it all up with power to spare. Would happily recommend the product to anyone wanting a quiet (in comparison), easy to use mower.
Very good quality, but the batteries will inevitably die – I purchased this mower four years ago, with two batteries, and use it bi-weekly 3 seasons a year. My lawn is about 1/3 of a 600m^2 block, and I now go through about 1.5 batteries a session. The mower has never let me down, but battery capacity is markedly lower than when new. Batteries are expensive, but if you are willing to accept this cost,… Read more
it's a powerful, quiet, and very light lawn mower! It is also surprisingly robust given it is constructed almost entirely of plastic.
Great mower with long battery life – I am a shortish 50 somethingish female with ms, so I was looking for a mower that did not leave me in pain. This is it! We have an average lawn size ( maybe 1/3 of a 870 sq block) and I can mow on one charge. Very impressed with the cut of the grass also. I have the height set on 3 to give the grass the ability to stay alive during Sydney summer. I like mowing..I am outside doing housework for a change..lol. I have only used it twice so far.

electronic stall protection
I believe it uses regenerative techonoogy to recover the rotational energy of the blades at the instant it is switched off. Perfect
Ticked all my boxes – Read enough reviews before deciding to buy it. Mainly for it's light weight as I have a few patches of lawn that require the mower to be carried across. Bought the 43 LI from Amazon Germany as they can organize shipping to Australia. All up around A$550 including shipping. Used it a few times now and happy with the mobility and the cut, even… Read more
on wet long grass. Light weight, easy to handle and carry Not sure how the warranty will work with import to Australia
Excellent mower, almost perfect – Usage: Usually mow either every week during summer, or once every three weeks during winter. Grass is Sir Walter grass, so it’s pretty thick. Time since purchase: approximately 12 months Comments: - Purchased the 43 Li, the larger model with two batteries. - The two batteries really comes in handy when needing to mow a medium sized… Read more · 3
yard, mine is approximately 600msq block, but reasonable amount of lawn. The two batteries isn’t always required.
- It is rather difficult to change the cutting level on the mower. And given it is constructed out of plastic, there is a concern that something may break.
- The catcher is only the slightly small side, but sufficient.
- It’s very quiet, and if anything, my Dyson may even be louder than my mower. I definitely feel less concerned about neighbors complaining in the morning about me mowing the yard.
- Batteries charge up relatively quick, 30 minutes to an hour and a flat battery will be fully charged.
- No fumes at all.
- There is a burnout prevention mechanism, which will stop the mower when there’s too much resistance in the mowing. This usually happens if you have really thick (you being lazy), the blades are too low, or the catcher is too full. This is a very important mechanism to have on any electric/battery operated mowers, as this’ll prevent the motor from burning out. Definitely helps, as the misses has no understanding of motors burning out, and just keeps mowing.
- Even the misses is mowing, it’s so light, easy to start and clean, it’s almost fun to use.
- Due to its lack of weight (being made of mostly plastics), it does have some trouble in cutting very low … if your grass is spongy.
- Very easy to start.
- Batteries hold their charge.
- There is a charge indicator on the batteries.
- The mower is so light, that it’s very easily carried with one hand, and can be easily lifted over head.
- The folding handle bars make for easy stow away.
- The funky handle bars are alright, and something different, but don’t serve great benefits.
- Mowing can be done with one hand with ease. Light weight, quiet, no fumes, convenient, quick, highly regarded brand name. Expensive.
