Required four repairs in five years – Great induction stove and oven, when it works. Has all the various oven modes that you would expect and the 'boost' feature is really useful for boiling water for pasta etc. Ours is the previous model and it has broken down four times in the past 5 years. Once during the two-year warranty period, and the repairs were fully covered by Bosch. Two… Read more
of the other three times, Bosch agreed to pay for the replacements parts out of goodwill. The last time, Bosch refused to pay for parts or labour for the repairs. There's a photo of the broken heating element that we had to replace below - this was just regular oven use.
The first two repairs were related to the fan, the third was the control board and the fourth repair was one of the heating elements.
Good induction standalone cooker – Bought to replace old gas cooker and have been using it regularly for 8 months. Cooks quicker and far cleaner than gas and whilst there was a period of adjustment I wouldn't go back to gas - unless you're doing a stir fry every night, but residential gas burners don't even put out enough heat to do a stir fry well anyway. The oven heats up fast… Read more
and gets to 230 in only 10 minutes. I find the hobs a tad too small but there are space limitations with a 60cm cooker. Cooking is even enough with good cookware. I haven't had the issues others have with the controls but find the clicking on and off of the magnets a but irritating, not sure why this happens as other Bosch induction stoves don't do this. My only major issue has been with the oven which inexplicably short circuited the other day on 3D Hot Air mode tripping the dedicated 32a circuit. Stove continued to work so it was isolated to the oven circuitry. I organised someone to come and have a look but a few hours it was working again so cancelled the callout .Moisture presumably got into the element and shorted it somehow which is a little disconcerting for a $3,000 brand new appliance.
CONTROLS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE – Stove works fine BUT the control panel and other stove top markings are pretty much impossible to see. Why do this? It is like book designers using 7-8pt type. Useless for anyone over 15. Are they meant to be illuminated? When I first saw the cooktop, which basically looked blank black, I thought, it will light up when the stove is turned on.… Read more
Nope. I also agree with other reviewers that if the stove is turned OFF you should be able to rest pans on it without setting off alarms. Annoying but not as annoying as invisible controls. UPDATE: We have put a bank of lights into our kitchen to see these controls. It has also illumated our workspace better, but, really?? I have to renovate my kitchen to make this stove usable?
Brilliant oven but impractical stovetop features – The stovetop controls and alarms are impractical and annoying. The controls can be easily covered while moving pans around which then sets off an alarm to advise the controls are getting hot. If you don’t remove the pan partly covering the controls, the controls are automatically disabled for a few minutes which again is extremely frustrating… Read more
and seems unnecessary. The stovetop beeps when it detects a pan on an element (not switched on) which is also completely unnecessary and annoying. We often use the stovetop to rest hot baking dishes coming straight out of the oven or to put empty frypans on as we’re getting ready to cook, but the stove beeps at you. It’s a bit fiddly turning elements on and off compared to other stoves. I’ve found that the element needs to be on at least 7 to cook meat - the lower numbers are rarely used. The elements do heat quickly and I get a mostly even heat throughout the large frypans cooking the meat evenly. The oven is absolutely brilliant. It heats quickly and has even heat distribution. There’s a burst of steam upon opening the oven door each time so you need to remember to duck out of the way of it, but I’m used to that now. We bought this stove in November 2021. It seems to work the way it should but I would like better stovetop controls and no unnecessary alarms for using a stovetop for resting items on it.
Works well but needed repair first – Our oven didn't work after installation. I suspect we were super unlucky. Winning Appliances were very helpful with arranging a Bosch service-person and once he (eventually) came, it was a straightforward fix (loose/unconnected wire). Cooktop works like a dream. Other reviewers have complained about the noise but I think it's totally fine and am… Read more
fussy about such things. It makes a bit of a buzz on max, but that's not used for very long (water boils as fast or faster than the kettle!). Have only used the oven once so far but it seems to work well - certainly well insulated (can touch the glass door) as it doesn't heat up the kitchen so presumably energy efficient.
If you want your cooktop flush with your bench you might have trouble. There is ~15mm height range that you simply can't achieve with the various combinations of adjustable feet. Our bench is 900mm and the cooktop sticks out maybe 7mm above that, which is fine by us as it is easier for cleaning.
We were looking for an easy, good quality slot-in replacement for our free-standing gas stove, and this certainly fits the bill (apart from the oven not working immediately).
A Very Good Stove – Replaced my Kleenmaid FEC605X/W ceramic cooktop stove with the Bosch HKS79R250A due to control issues with my old stove. They are very much alike. The Bosch stove however just works perfectly. It is so quiet on fan forced you are struggling to hear it. The oven light is brighter and centrally placed. The oven door being a triple glass paneled is… Read more
always cool to the touch. The oven is vented to the front, above the door and this is better than rear venting which can present stains on the splashback. Always hard to get to to clean. The 30 pre-programs were easy to use and worked well on a leg of lamb we did. But the stove is not perfect, the height with the plastic legs it came with are too low for a 900mm bench. Replacing with the supplied adjustable aluminum legs made the stove just 905mm on the lowest screw. If you have a timber floor or tiles making your bench height a little lower the stove is too high. However I hack sawed 15mm off the legs which was fairly easy to make the height perfect. If your cupboards are installed on an existing floor you will have the full 900mm and this stove with aluminum legs will fit well without any work. I would certainly recommend this stove. Purchased from Appliances on Line.
Some flaws but performs ok – This oven does cook ok. Although heat is not very even in the oven. Induction is fast and oven heats quickly. Timer on the Cooktop is a really nice feature to switch off automatically. It has some flaws. 1 it can't be adjusted to a typical 900mm bench height. It starts at about 905mm and higher if you need to adjust for level. 2.The feet are also… Read more
not stable and the oven wobbles slightly. 3. The induction clicks and makes a lot of noise. It's really just a bench top cooktop and wall oven with a bodge chassis to make it into a freestanding range rather than being designed for purpose. It's thin and flimsy. Especially the drawer. It's made in Turkey.
