Great dishwasher – We have had ours now for 10 years and its an excellent machine. We had one electrical issue within the first month, but was promptly fixed under warranty. Never had an issue with fascia like others have had. Our fascia is looking worn however, and we are looking at renewing our kitchen, so i might see if i can get a new fascia so i can keep the… Read more ·  1

machine! Our machine has survived daily use with 2 kids using it as well. Glad i paid extra and got the model that was made in the fatherland!!

Fantastic Machine! Even if it does break after 10 years – I have now had this dishwasher for 10 years and it has been a great machine, always cleaning dishes very well and very easy to use. Like many other people my front fascia broke because the point where you open it is too far away from the screws that hold it in place and hence after many uses the plastic fascia clips fail and crack. I called… Read more ·  1

Bosch spares and they did have the part in stock and shipped it to me in 3 days for a reasonable $143.

When it arrived it was quite easy to replace (with help from YouTube) by myself in about 30 mins. The fact they still stock this part after 10 years I think is great (Bosch must know this is a high replacement part).

Overall a great dishwasher which still looks as good as it did when we first bought it!

I have the same problem with the facia as the other complaint and I have been unable to obtain a rep – A is a good product but it has been let down by the inability to open the unit because of the control facia otherwise it has performed well. This model was recommended to me by a friend who now has the same problem. Where can a replacement facia panel be obtained?  Show details

Wouldwork perfectly IF we could get the part – Hi, We loved our dishwasher until the control fascia panel broke, making it nearly impossible to open. .Bosh has told me they no longer make that part, leaving us with no option but to throw a really good machine into landfill. Not very environmentally friendly!!!!! If anyone has any suggestions as to how to fix it please let me know,I'm willing to put on a second hand, knockoff, or different coloured part if I can find one.  Show details

Dont Buy Bosch – I have not been happy since day 1; the basket broke and was never replaced even with 6 years extended warranty. The response from service is slow or nonexistent. Parts are plastic; they easily break and there is no dedicated service in Australia.Service is terrible and outsourced not Bosch. The front facia panel is plastic and has broken twice.… Read more

It never washed well either. Older versions were great and they go on their past history.

Now it is old but I have provided feedback since 2012

Buy Miele where you can reply on service in Australia.

Not happy – I think this is the correct model - has cutlery tray rather than basket ? Purchased 3 years ago for $1500 Lots of error messages and the stainless steel door has rusted. Dishwasher now at the tip - it died and the repair quote was $1200. Took me weeks to find anybody prepared to look at it and when they came I had to pay $150 call out fee. Needless to say I have purchased another brand. A very expensive lemon.

Good dishwasher ...BUT – I purchased the Bosch dishwasher in 2008 and it sat for about a year until we were ready to install it, It cost about $1500. It cleaned brilliantly and we were very happy. Now about a month ago it stopped emptying and filling. I have been really happy with it so far but now am dissapointed as for that price you would think it would last longer… Read more

than that. Cleans well It now won't fill or empty we have read the book cleaned out the filters and cannot get it going. I can't get hold of the only repairer in town so don't know what to do now.

My husband fixed the dishwasher he is not sure what he did but it started working again and has worked ever since. May have had a slight blockage.

Good – Having come from a dishlex I can say the Bosch is a much better unit and looks very sophisticated in my kitchen. It makes very little noise and the dishes and pans come out lookign great. The fingerprint less finish certainly is a god send with my 2 young lads who seem to live in the kitchen. I would highly reccomend this unit and shop about like… Read more

I did as I saved $150 from the orginal store price, very happy with that. Great shade of stainless steel look, very effective wash cycles, reliable A little expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Good – We find this a very good dishwasher and are happy with it after a year and a half. The plate rack collapsing while half stacked was very annoying however we moved the cultery container to the back and this resolved that problem although this design flaw takes away from the flexible cutlery container benefits. Otherwise satisfied. Cleans everything… Read more

very well, very quiet, countdown timer is useful, nice appearance and finish. Fold down rack in the lower rear section will fold down by itself when it is more than half full with plates, not good for stacking. Plates will come out a bit damp occasionally after sitting for a while. Base could have been vertical in stead of sloped to match up with kickboards for rest of kitchen.

Good – all up this is a good machine. We had a Bosh in our previous house and so we leaned towards purchasing another one and have not been disappointed. In the end, the dishes come up clean every time and I don't have to run the load again. I pre rinse in the sink if the dishes are very messy, but I can get away without doing this all the time. previous Bosh dishwasher we had broke down once and I was impressed with the knowledge of the tech that came out to fix the machine. (although he did charge by the minute). so far have not needed him again. would recommend. solid quiet machine. cleans well, even heavy loads. looks good.

filter at the base of machine is easy to clean.

easy to use. can adjust rack easily to fit larger dishes.

have used it daily for almost 2 years now and no major problems. On initial purchase, received the free standing version, even though I thought we were getting the built in.Had some difficulty sourcing the brackets required to convert the free standing version to the built in version.

After one year of usage, the plastic zig zag bar in the upper tray that supports the stem of wine glasses keeps falling of mid cycle.

small plastic clips on the lower tray that stabilise racks have become loose and keep falling off. so far has not affected performance, but it is irritating to have to retrieve them regularly from the filter.

Quiet, cleans well, looks good – We got this to replace our old Bosch that died after 12 years. Very happy with the old one. The new one is better. It's quiet and does a good job in cleaning. Cycle could be quicker, but we generally put it on overnight and empty it in the morning, so the time doesn't matter. The fingerprint resistant stainless front is fantastic. I've seen… Read more ·  1

some that really hold prints. this is as easy to clean as a benchtop. Great.

Only problem is the little pieces in the racks that keep on coming loose. It's a bit of a humbug to have to keep on putting them back in place. Cleans well, looks good Don't like the way the little racks keep coming loose.

3 months out of warranty and it leaks like a sieve! – Great machine up til now! Great wash, quiet, looks good and fits well with the rest of our kitchen. Cant say that i would buy another Bosch dishwasher though. My 4 star rating of this appliance is only based on its performance til it croaked it. Goes down to 1 star based on technical support availablity, service agent availability in West… Read more ·  1

Excellent – I love this dishwasher !! The versatile racks are great. Quality which I think is good value for money. The stainless steel finish stays clean looking. Lots of good features which come standard for Bosch. Would never go back to another brand. Looks stylish, very quiet and does the job perfectly. None, although it would be nice to have a quicker half load setting on this particular model.

Excellent – We pretty much use the lowest setting as it cleans so well! We always use Finish products as well as recommended by Bosch. Quiet, plenty of settings to choose from but simple to operate. no problems in 10 months of use (Dozen times a week).

Excellent – Can't fault it. Still thought disordered. Have now convinced myself that the SGS will last till my dying day. Have to go put it in the will. Bugger! Looked sharp and serious. Most of the others didn't. The missus loved it and I loved the name, disassociating into a nether world where i saw the Bosch as a humungous power tool and fell in love.… Read more

Looks serious and $#@& off in our kitchen. Cleans well and says "Make my Day" at the same time Had to make bigger holes in the joinery to insert the hose connecter. German?

Excellent – In 20 years of marriage this is the first dishwasher we have ever owned, and I am glad we bought a Bosch. The design and Consumption ratings were what sold us in the end. The SGS has the lowest water consumption of any of the dishwashers we looked at. ( 4 Star water rating @ 13.6 litres per wash and 3.5 energy rating @266 kWh per year). My parents… Read more

have the model down from this in white and in 4 years it has never missed a beat. I think this dishwasher is the best thing we have ever bought in terms of lifestyle choices. Easy to use, easy to clean fantastic features and great Bosch reliability. Would recommend to anyone. Everything, had this dishwasher for over 12 months and love everything about it. The Anti- fingerprint stainless steel finish is amazing, wash settings clean perfectly everytime, easy to use, super modern design, clear display, and super quiet.

Terrible – Very unsatisfactory. This BOSCH dishwasher is meant to work for us, not us for it! The warranty seems to exclude this drainage issue. Manufacturers know what goes into dishwashers so why do they build them to fail from a tiny lemon seed? Cleans OK and is reasonably quiet. Drainage issues have plagued this machine. What fool designs a dishwasher without good access to the drainage hose? Also the cycle of 140 minutes (economy) is just too long.

Excellent – Loving it. It is my first dishwasher but after MANY months of research and saving $$ i knew i wanted a Bosch. I wanted to get it right the first time without regret and also new I wanted German built machine. We looked at the basic model Bosch, but decided to save a little more and invest in something that would DRY as this is a huge problem for many dishwasher owners. So far my dishes are clean and completely dry. Only thing to recommend which i'm sure happpens to all -unstack bottom rack first as only problem is droplets remain on the plastic racks and if you bump the upper spray arm water will drip on bottom dishes, no drama though once you realise this.

Overall - very pleased.

Advice- absolutely worth the extra money, its a long term investment. I am no longer the dishwasher :)

What a great machine. Quiet, cleans, drys and looks smick. German made. Nothing as yet....

Excellent – Well, we needed to find a dishwasher to replace our Smeg which had decided to flood the kitchen floor once a week. It was 5 years old and needed repairing each year we had it. So I looked at every review I could find for dishwashers and soon I was leaning towards Bosch going by the consistantly good reviews for Bosch. I prefered a stainless steel… Read more

finish to match the rest of the kitchen appliances we had which meant I could target reviews on the SGS46M78AU. Could not find a credible review against buying this model so after 2 months of research, I finally took the plunge and bought this at Good Guys who had this on special.

Now had it for 3 months and we just cant fault its cleaning ability. The only criticism I can find is that its drying could be better (compared to a dishlex I once owned at a previous address) but that is no biggee. I cant get over how little I need to clean the filters compared to the Smeg this replaces. The Smeg needed the filters to be constantly cleaned or the dishes would not be 100%.

Now that I have a dishwasher that in my opinion is as close to perfect as a dishwashed can be, I don't think I would ever choose anything but Bosch. If I ever move again, I will be taking the Bosch with me instead of leaving it as part of the house fixtures.. Only advantage the dishlex had over the Bosch was a interior light that came on juat like a fridge !

I would give this Bosch a score of 95 out of 100 !

Previous dishwashers I have had are,

Dishlex.. It was good but not as good as the Bosch.

Smeg.. Total waste of money, Dishes still dirty after washing, grit in cups, filters not effective..

Bosch.. Whats there to complain about.. It does what it's meant to do and it does it very well. Does everything well.. Quiet.. easy clean exterior.. what can I say, it's 100% better than the Smeg it replaces ! Nothing to dislike

Excellent – An absolutely fantastic dishwasher. You dont have to use much detergent unless you have heavily soiled baking trays. It is easy to use and even setting the timer to start in the middle of the night is almost silent. Highly recommend, worth the extra $$$ for sure. There is nothing to dislike about this product. It does everything it is designed to do. After 2 months, I havent had a problem. Show 3 replies

Good – All in all im very happy with this machine. You dont have to rinse off the plates before you put them in as the machine effectively removes all food particles. Also with the machine being 4 star rated and using only 13.6 litres (AV)per wash is a great feature. The fact that it heats its own water is great too, as you can shower at the same time… Read more

and know you wont lose any hot water!! Would recommend to anyone as a great effective dishwasher! Washes dishes fantasically. The drying system inside makes it so you can put the dishes straight into the cupboard and not have to dry them off with a tea towel. The ability to be able to adjust the top basket position is handy also. With the plate racks you can adjust up and down makes it great to be able to put pots and larger plates and bowls inside too. Sometimes it can be quite noisy with saucepans inside with the echoing of the water. Have had to have this replaced due to the first one being quite noisy and that got a bit difficult as nobody belived the noise we said was there. Replaced in the end though
