every 15mins, plus parts . Given there have been so many similar sounding issues. Would I be better to cancel this call out and just buy a new dishwasher? I feel like this could easily be handing good money after bad. I'm so disappointed with this machines short life.

Sudden Error – Has been a great Dishwasher. 8 years old and suddenly on the weekend, put it on whe. We went to bed. 4 hours later it is still trying to drain every minute. $88 call out and $9.90 every 6 minutes seems very excessive. Anyone have some info on the aqua tap/inlet filter that I might try.

Not happy with having spend the money on a new one. Or pay over $150-$200 on something that age.

expensive dishwasher it would last a lot longer only got 3 and a half years out of this one , got a better run out of a cheaper dishwasher last time it lasted for 6 years , i think i will go back to the cheaper options .

Great value – We have had this dishwasher for a couple of years now, or maybe more, and think it is great value for money. Have had no real issues with it, and actually find it cleans better than the top of the range Bosch dishwasher my mil has (hers has a cutlery drawer at the top, which seems to always leave fine particles of food or debris on the cutlery). Same issue - out of power (possibly the control unit or a fuse?) – Same issue as most people here. It does not turn on anymore. It should be 6 years old but used only for 2 years maximum. UPDATE (after Bosch replied to call them and after me doing extra stuff to fix it):

I did some further investigation on this and found that the resistance of the control unit was burned. A new control unit costs more than $400 which is of course ridiculous. I then bought a new resistance (50 cents), solder it well on the control unit (I have done a continuity test and the new resistance is fine) but the dishwashers is still not working. The colours of the resistance were faded a bit so the guy at the electronics shop thought it is 1KOhm. Does anyone know if the actual resistance on the control unit is less than that because the dishwasher still does not work?

I do not want to get a new dishwasher of course because the current one was used for less than 2 years. I called the number that BOSCH gave me but these guys only sell new components or book a service for you. Technically they know nothing. They are just a shop.

Lesson: Never ever again buy a Bosch dishwasher.

AGAIN three weeks ago though it is still in excellent condition and every part is intact. It has suddenly lost total power mid cycle and wont turn on - but this time we ran out of extended warranty. I have a very high regard for Bosch products being engineered in Germany and all my appliances including cooktops at my home and the investment property are made by Bosch. Now I am very unhappy and worried about the reliability of other Bosh products I own at this stage. My experience with this dishwasher has made me reconsider my opinion about Bosch being one of the best appliance manufacturers around because the reliability is equally (if not more) important to judge any product's functionality. Unfortunately Bosh doesn't seem to have the reliability anymore based on my experience with this dishwasher.

I have got in touch with Bosch contact number listed in another review below and was told to bring some local repair center to organize repair and costing details. It is unfortunate that they are not willing to help me though it is a known issue with the controller circuit board. No resolution yet 3 months later ....Thank you Bosch

Great until it died – Our Bosch SGS65M08AU/15 dishwasher worked fine until it just decided to die on us. Still in excellent condition nothing broken then suddenly mid cycle lost all power and now won’t turn on. Very unhappy as thought Bosch was one of the best whilst it washed a little better than my previous Westinghouse it at least lasted 12 years and was still going strong when we sold up and moved leaving it behind.  Show details

Power Failure - Disappointed - thought Bosch stood for quality??! – Have had this for a number of years before it just died. plate broke the Half Load button fell out and last night the dishwasher won’t turn on at all. Very disappointing after spending the extra to keep my wife’s mind at ease. After reading all of the reviews it seems I will be looking for a new done.

Yet Another Control Module Failure – I purchased a house with this dishwasher. I have used it for 1 year. It worked well apart from the crappy rack clips. It provided 7 years of service and the control module has failed. Bosch products had an excellent reputation, but this "Made in Turkey" product is a Dodo. at the reviews of people with the same issue there is no point throwing good money after bad.

So so disappointed, would have considered a new Bosch but not now. I fear for my 18 month old Bosch washer and will avoid Bosch in future appliance purchases as I’m not paying any more to fix this one.

BOSCH! It seems the same known problem as what I have read on other reviews on here!! which i can only conclude that this is a known problem by bosch! the CONTROL BOARD!!!! I spent $125 for a Bosch technician to come to our home only to tell me the same thing that most people in this forum have experienced and I was told that the main controller board is broken and that they will give me a quote later for replacing it. After a few days and chasing them up, I was told that it will cost me $390 plus the labor cost to replace the board. So it will cost me around $600 in total to get it fixed!!!

We always considered Bosch as a high-quality brand and that is why we were happy to pay more for it and we were very happy with the quality of the washing but as it can be seen from the complaints on this page, this product obviously had a design fault and it just dies after only 3-5 years depending on how many times you use it. We always used the best quality dishwashing tablets and it still looks quite new. Really disappointed.

Limited lifespan for such a low user – Loved my dishwasher but it has suddenly stopped working. I only use it once a week so would have expected it to last longer. 2nd call out :( – I have to say that this dishwasher did the job EXCEPT that it dies unexpectedly as it has done for the 2nd time in its short life at our house. Lights are out, no noise, nothing. Totally unresponsive. After paying $380 to fix it the last time I'm LOATHE to get it repaired OR buy another Bosch. I thought Bosch was better than this and would last much longer. Dead Machine – My daughter brought the above machine just about 5 years ago when she got married. She chose Bosch thinking it would last a good number of years. Last December it just up and died no lights nothing. Looking at other people's experiences with this machine, I feel Bosch should have recalled this machine. they can only get someone in after more than a week (not impressed). I decided to call a local serviceperson and he confirm the motherboard died (100%).

He personally recommended me to purchase a new dishwasher instead of repairing it as the cost of the motherboard was a few hundreds dollars!

Came upon this page and realise I'm not the only person having this issue! Very disappointing as we were hoping Bosch brand will last longer than any other brands. They should recall this product as everyone seems to have similar issues!

However, a few days ago we put the dishwasher on the delay start before going out, and returned to find it had stopped mid-cycle, hadn't emptied the water and will not power on. No lights or anything. The power point is working fine, and I've checked that the filters are all clean and there's nothing blocking the impeller / pump etc.

I've called Bosch and they simply passed on the name of a repairer. It will cost me a minimum of $110 for the call out fee plus extra for any time they spend on it. I've since discovered this site and it appears that there are many others who have had the same problem, and that the control board is the problem ($500+ to replace) - ouch! Once labour is added I'm getting close to the price of a new machine! I've been a fan of Bosch in the past, but I don't think I'll return for a Bosch dishwasher.

Last week, I would have given 5 stars, but given it's died after such a short time, I can only give 2 stars. Looks like I'll be hand washing for a while... Sorry Bosch.

only to find that the dishwasher didn't complete the cycle. Can't to power up since then. Checked power point, water clogs and all other tips given by the manual, effort was futile. We ended up washing all the plates by hand.

Seems like the problem is due to a defect inherent in this model. Would have expected Bosch product to last longer.

at all the past reviews with the same problem I am not surprised it has been discontinued by BOSCH.

Uncertain how much a repair +call out will be, and if it is even worth it for a model with known problems.

We have other BOSCH appliances and have been happy with them all. This one just missed the mark.

Bosch electrical in our house as well.

We paid good money for Bosch appliances and expected the dishwasher would last a lot longer than the Dishlex.

That is not true, our Bosch Dishwasher SGS65M08AU lasted only four years.

Yesterday, the circuit board was completely burnt with strong foul smell. I had to disconnect it and took the dishwasher outside. Not only the dishwasher died, the way it died is unbelievably unsafe. How could the circuit board burn by itself. Where is the safety mechanism to prevent electrical fire from happening. This is totally unsafe and should have been recalled. Luckily, we were at home while washing the dishes, otherwise, there would be a fire. This was in fact a narrow escape, sometimes, we did wash the dished unattended. Beware people, don't wash your dish unattended.

Our oven is also playing up with error code. The oven is still working, so nothing to complain yet.

We are losing faith in Bosch and wondering if our next dishwasher will be a Bosch.

Today, doing research for a dishwasher replacement, I hit this website and found many similar complains.

Should I buy another Bosch dishwasher, and continue to recommend our friends to buy Bosch appliances as we always had, please convince me to do so.

Disappointed in a trusted name brand that only lasts the same life as a no name brand. If you are looking to buy this model, please dont, in a few years you will need to pay up of $700 to fix. I am at a loss to why Bosch does not recall or make the owners aware of a bad model.

As with all the people on here I paid more money to buy a brand that is well known only to have it break and cost over 70% of its worth to fix, I just dont have the money to throw at dishwashers every 5 years..... Dishlex was a fail with only 3 years till the first break, fix, break and limping it 4.5 years before getting this Bosch. Got 5 years out of the Bosch, then a totally dead system. Only positive was customer support guy was nice, checked if it was on a recall list and gave me details of the local bosch agent.

Bosch I expected more from your product!! But after reading all these other reviews with the same issue on the model of dish washer, I am afraid I am more than disappointed. Why is the part so expensive on a model with known issues? If it was not so expensive to replace I would fix as it is (was) a great dishwasher.
