Hi, our machine has no power at all when you press on switch? Power point is fine, turns on other appliances. And I have attempted to locate the thermal fuse does anyone know where it is located on these machines as it was working fine and then just stopped and I have a feeling it could be the fuse thanks Julian
We had the power board go in ours. Cost a bloody fortune to replace as we are rural and they've got to come and quote, go and order the part and come back and install. Two lots of labour and the part. May as well of bought a new one.
Power board gone, part $432 so even DIY is expensive. New Aldi selling tomorrow same star rating as Bosch on choice magazine, $380 new, only comes on once a year-luckily its tomorrow.
Hi, has anyone had issue with no power at all when press on switch? Power point is fine, turns on other appliances Scott
My exact machine did the same we found a small chip in the power module had shorted causing a burn mark in the white plastic box I’ve contacted Bosch to see if the make a replacement if not il be on the hunt for a new dishwasher
Hi Scott, Thanks for your question regarding the Bosch dishwasher. This issue would require a service call. Feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744 to arrange this. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
Help E25 - I have cleaned filter and removed the white cover and there was an item but the wheel moves, replaced everything and have been through this process 3 times each time it doesn't drain and E25 comes up. What now?

My dishwasher stops during the cycle, then restarts and stops again restarts and eventually it completes the wash cycle, this can take up to 10 hours to complete. All items in the dishwasher are clean, can any help with this mystery?

SMU68M05AU - Has anybody else had the issue where the machine runs for 30 seconds to 3 minutes, then loses power? If you turn off the power at the wall for a minute or so, the machine will start again, remember where it was on the wash cycle and continue for another 30 seconds to 3 minutes before losing power again? If so, what was the fix? The machine had not been used for 3 weeks while we were on holidays, and then died on the first cycle on return.
I also had a few incidents where it starting leaking and had error message twice, when plumber came machine started fine and continued to run ok. He suggested perhaps something was blocking hose and run it empty a few times on hottest cycle to clear out as much as possible. To be honest not really sure what problem was but suspect water leak was causing my power to switch off as precaution. Plumber did adjust and check all my hoses were attached properly. Best of luck
I don't have an answer, but I have the exact same problem. 3 weeks away as well...
I have a Bosch SMU68M05AU, at warranty +1 year (must be the Bosch half life) and getting the EO 1 message. Seems like a common failing. Is it the heater unit or pump, or are they the same unit?
Heating elements are built into the main main pump unit. You need to replace both.
The heat pump is the one unit, which measures the water quantity for the load (dishwashing). If the heat pump fails it then activates the drain pump to exit the water. We found that the technician replaced the heat pump - as a last resort. As he did not seem to have this as the issue. When he decided to change it - all of my issues went away. He then explained to me - that the heat pump - was failing and therefore providing the issue that we had. Get a service tech in - unless you're pretty handy, as the items that need to be replaced as well as access is fiddly and specific tools and ways of access are required- which only an experienced service tech will be able to do within an hour. Hope this helps!
There is life left in the Bosch. Gave the company a call and was assisted by a helpful tech rep. A 'reboot' of the dishwasher has removed the error message. We shall see how it goes, but I can't fault the telephone service received from Bosch (Australia). OP
I am having issues with my dishwasher smu68mo5au/28 fd9011 01347 sn 010110250560013476, e15 error with pump continuously running even if the door is open.Have to switch off the power to turn off, have reset it by tilting the machine but same thing happens again. Service call is $99 plus parts plus labor $20 for 10mins. This service will cost me approx. Over $350.
Q. Is it worthwhile repairing? It's 6 years old
Under australian consumer law if you paid a reasonable money for an item it should last for decent time. If you compare a lg/other brands which are half the price what I paid for and if last for 5 years only you can buy a new one. Bosch name sounds good but the products are getting rubbish, I expected this machine to last for at least 10years for what I paid for??
I don’t have an answer I’m sorry but I’m just wondering what you ended up doing with your dishwasher as we are having the same error code and our machine is 5 and a half years old??
Hi Ami , don't bother fixing it just get a new one.Yeah learn your lesson don't buy Bosch ever again as nothing is made in Germany as it used to be. They use cheap parts and you pay premium price for Brand name. LG is reasonably priced, excellent customer service and last longer than Bosch. Hope this helps and good luck shopping :)
I have a SMU68M05AU/28 that is showing a error code E20. Is this an easy fix and cheap or should I be considering getting a new one?
Also how long does the warranty last on these models?
Not sure about the cost of repair but l suspect it would not be cheap.
That's what I thought.
Hi, we have a Bosch SMU68M05AU/51 that is only around 4.5 years old. The washer works and then just switches off and the display is dead. I switch the power off and then back on and then is runs for a few minutes and we have to repeat the process. Any advice as thes was a top dollar purchase and I expected 10 to 15 years from this product.
Get Bosch service agent via bosch web site to come out and diagnose the problem.
While you are waiting google Australian Consumer guarantee and follow what to do.
My dishwasher is currently switching on and off during its cycle. Not sure about your problem but l am waiting for my dishwasher to fail completely and then l will replace it with another brand. I am not going to waste my money on an expensive service call and parts.
I have a bosch dishwasher serial number SMU68M05AU, It keeps displaying the E24 error code Check Water. Any ideas what we can do to fix it?

E 21. Any ideas?
Make sure that there is not a kink in the discharge hose. Error E21 is telling you that there is still water in the bottom of the sump after the cycle has finished. If you get a sponge and take off the plastic cap in the inside bottom of the dishwasher and sponge as much water out as you can. Then restart the dishwasher. It should be OK, but if it continues you will have to call a service agent or do what I did. Put it out for the hard rubbish collection, cut your losses and swear you will never purchase another Bosch product again.
Thank you

What Dora said. Most likely a blockage somewhere between the pump inlet in the base of the machine (bread tie, or the like in the pump) and the sink. My blockage was where the join was where I had to extend the discharge hose. BUT these machines are notoriously unreliable with several design faults. Bosch botched this one!! Beware any codes indicating a fault with the pump/heater assembly or a tripping ELD due to a faulty sump seal. Both are big money to replace and will likely recur again and again. How do i know? Never buying Bosch again.
Never buying Bosch again either. I. have checked all the things mentioned but none unfortunately the problem. Thanks for your reply.
I have a Bosch SMU68M05AU which now has an E:01 error and I can't find how to fix this. How do I fix this error. I
Probably do what I have done. Put it out in the hard rubbish collection, go and buy a Miele and swear that you will never buy another Bosch product again! I think E:01 error is the heating element so you will have to get a repairman to replace. Probably cost you around $500 or so.
What Dora said. Except I was advised it isnt worth buying an expensive DW, including Miele. The service guy who looked at our Bosch mentioned he sees just as many recent Mieles. FWIW Dishlex/Electrolux/AEG (all from the same factory/manufacter in Poland) are according to him one of the more reliable. You can buy a Dishlex for $600. Thats what I am doing. The Bosch cost me $1500 three years ago plus another $1500 in repairs and since learnt it has several sig design/manufacturing faults. just my 2.2cents worth.
I have a SMU68M05AU/01 dishwasher that is 6 years old and now up for it's second main pcb after the E01 error message became permanent (had been using a work around for a couple of years to get rid of it when it displayed). The 1st pcb was replaced during the warranty period. This repair will cost me over $500.
What is the likelihood that this replacement board will also fail, and me being up for another $500 every few years or so ? Seriously considering scrapping the Bosch & going for something more reliable.
From what I am informed there are at least two known design/manufacturing faults with the SMU68m05 model. The seal between the SS tub and the plastic sumps warps and then leaks water - the cause of the Err code where you can tilt it, drain the water to reset it; and the integrated pump/heater assembly. Either of these are costly common and recurring.even if fixed. I suggest complaint to Bosch and try and get a replacement DW. Failing that buy a different make (and hope it is better)
Can someone please tell me if it is normal for a Bosh dishwasher (SMU68M05AU) to have some clear water left at the bottom of the dishwater after every wash?
I hear some dishwasher does keep some water at the bottom to be used as the rinse water for next load. I am not so sure if this model of dishwasher has the same function or my dishwasher is broken.
Hi Maggie
No, that is not normal for that brand and model, there may be a blockage and all the water is not draining out. Google water being left in the bottom and see if someone else had a similar problem.
No, not on this model. When I say that, there should be no visible water at the bottom. There is water in the filter compartment, and that is only visible with the filter cover off, but I'm talking on about 1 cm. there should be no visible water when you slide the bottom rack open though.
Hi Maggie, Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch SMU68M05AU Dishwasher. It is normal for there to be water in the bottom of the dishwasher, however this water level should not generally be able to be seen above the flat mesh filter.

How do i run a test cycle on my Bosch dishwasher model SMU68M05AU/52?
Every time i start a wash cycle it only runs for 1 or 2 minutes and turns off. i have cleaned the pump area and also the filters in the water inlet hose.
cheers tim

update on faulty Bosch SMU68M05AU dishwasher. Rang Bosch after sales support. Explained the problems i am having with my dishwasher (just over 3 years old). They stated very unfortunate that you are having problems when dishwasher is not so old they even stated that they would expect to get more then 3 years use. I would hope so. our last dishwasher also a Bosch lasted over 15 years.
$85 call out fee plus $100 per hour plus parts.
But it gets better (not) sorry we don't have service staff in your area (inner west of sydney postcode 2046) but we do have an agent trained by Bosch. ok what choice do i have? None, So I ring the agent on the 1st of Feb. they are very busy the first available is tuesday 9 Feb. Again what choice do I have but to be patient and wait 8 days.
So today is the big day.
Agent turns up only to tell me that will be $125 please and that can't fix the dishwasher today because I need some parts a P.R. Power Module at about $350 plus fitting cost. Agent also informs me it would be about 8 days before he would be back, but the office will call to confirm cost and time.
The best part is that after the new Power Module is fitted he can check if the machine has any other faults so could still need more parts.
Sorry Bosch but not good enough
I will be calling the After Sales Team for their input.
Cheers Tim
I'm getting an error message E24. Can you suggest what to do?
Hi. I was referred to Steve from Gilpin Electrical - 0418 503 159. He was fantastic. Customer focused and knows what he is doing. Hope that helps
Hi Steve,
I'm afraid I can't be super helpful - I did the maths given then age of the dishwasher and decided to replace it.
Cheers,
Bill
Hi Steve, Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch SMU68M05AU Dishwasher. Error code E24 indicates one of the following: i. The waste water hose is blocked or kinked ii. The siphon connection is still sealed
iii. The cover on the waste water pump is loose.
We recommend referring to page 16 and 17 of your user manual on how to resolve the above issues. If error code E24 continues to come up after you have completed all troubleshooting, please contact our After Sales Support team on 1300 369 744 for further assistance.

give in and buy a new machine if more 2 years old
I had that error and tried all the suggested fixes only for the machine to stop completely and now up for a new controller board see my review still on going
cheers
could you please tell me who in Geelong Victoria is a Bosch repairman please?
we have had issues with our dishwasher - firstly error E15 and now and E09.
Reading on here tonight there seems to be multiple issues with this particular dishwasher is that the case?
ours is almost 4 years old.
Also could you tell me an estimate on getting it fixed please?
Hi Isn't is very disheartening when you think you are buying a top of the range dishwasher. Unfortunately, we decided to take ours to the tip as we knew it was going to cost us quite a sum to try and have it repaired. We thought that if we got it fixed, what else could go wrong with it so we decided to cut our losses and get rid of it. I can say that we ended up purchasing a Miele. So far, it is perfect. I also wish to add that when I bought our Bosch dishwasher, I did do my research via 'Choice' and it said they were one of the best. Unfortunately, they are anything but that. Even worse is Bosch's appalling customer service/after service. The Bosch customer service woman that insisted that we only speak with her made it SO DIFFICULT FOR US that I wrote to their CEO for his assistance. Unfortunately, my complaint filtered down to her and Bosch's POOR customer service just continued. Never again will I ever buy any Bosch product. We also bought unfortunately, last year, a Bosch oven. It smoked the whole house out - I was so worried that it would catch fire. The smoke was unbelievable as we could not see each other in the house. So during this period, I had unfortunately - a Bosch dishwasher (that would not work properly and would come out with all kind of grime and chemicals that made me very unwell that I ended up in hospital (interesting I have been very well since getting rid of it); and a top of the range Bosch underbench oven that was INFERIOR and only a few months old. Thank goodness the 'Good Guys Maribyrnong' where we had purchased it, had come the next day to pick it up and we received a refund. THANK GOODNESS! Sorry, I can't give you any advice for any reputable person who can fix Bosch. Bosch should stand by their products and fix their products or replace them for us. I am really sorry to hear that you have similar issues to what we had with your Bosch dishwasher. All I can recommend is 'stay right away from any Bosch product as you will NEVER get any proper and favourable after service unfortunately'. HOPEFULLY BOSCH WILL READ THIS MESSAGE AS THEY NEED TO START LOOKING AFTER THEIR 'LOYAL' CUSTOMERS AND NOT DRIVE THEM RIGHT AWAY FROM THEIR PRODUCTS.

I have a Bosch SMU 68M05AU dishwasher that is showing E01. We were told that it was due to a faulty power board and had it replaced however some 6 months later with the new power board the same error has appeared. The machine powers on and flashes the selected wash duration and the relays can be heard clicking but then simply stops and displays the error. Surely this isn't a second faulty power board? Anyone have any ideas?
Hi Steve, Thank you for your question regarding your Bosch SMU68M05AU Dishwasher. We are concerned about the E01 error code showing up on your display, please disconnect your appliance from the power and turn off the water connection.
