Didn't last long – Bought this dishwasher in mid-2015. Heat pump got damaged in 2019, and we had a Bosch technician come and fix it for close to $500. Now there is water leak, and I don;t want to spend another $500 to get this fixed. The dishwasher was good while it lasted, but it lasted only 6 years. I would expect a dishwasher to last at least 8-10 years. Moving away from Bosch to other brands now. Show details
Been a great member of the family – Purchased our unit about 10 years ago and it’s been flawless throughout. This years it’s not drying as well as it should so it’s time to shop around for a new one. Think we paid about $1000 and wouldn’t expect any more than 10 years so no complaints here. Show details · 1
having issues just after 6 years – We purchased the product after extensive research seven years ago when the new house was built. Some small parts broken off after only two years, we didn't worry about it too much. We always scrape and rinse dishes but the machine started to have 'draining' issues from last year and now it doesn't even start a cycle. Called Bosch helpline and got… Read more
their recommended tradie around, didn't identify any problems but we were followed up by an email with a $1K recommended require cost. We were told dishwasher has expected life of six to ten years but with Bosch we were hoping to get more than that.
Very disappointed with the product and service.

Short product life – Much like other users we paid more thinking we were getting a quality product for our new house 5 1/2 years ago. 3 months ago we got e24 error. We had an agent come around who said he "thought" he had fixed it now 3 months later device is leaking indicating seal problems. Too expensive to keep getting repair men around so now looking for a new machine Show details

Stopped working after 5 years – We bought this Bosch machine because we thought this is a good brand and we specifically paid more for it because it was made in Germany. It worked well for the first 5 years, but recently it started having an E24 error. After calling Bosch for investigating the problem, their repair person came in with a hefty callout fee and advised us that to… Read more
fix the problem would cost around $500. This is highly disappointing and we would seriously reconsider purchasing other Bosch appliances, given the lack of longevity for this one.

Very quiet, reliable, does a great job – Very quiet operation. Very satisfied. Controls are good, and easy to use. Easy to keep clean Inside and out. Cutlery rack is great, and adjustable middle rack works well, if a bit clunky to adjust. Usually just scrape items without rinsing; sensor works well. Works better with tablets than powder. Dries ok, but can be improved by opening door when finished. Almost as good as previously owned Miele, which is high praise. Show details · 1
Excellent Quality – Have had this dishwasher now for 5 years and very happy with its performance. Some of the views I have read just do not stack up in my opinion. Provided the machine is looked after and cleaned regularly it will, I believe, provide many years of reliable service. Show details · 1
Stainless steel cover does not clean properly and looks grubby – The stainless steel cover does not clean properly and looks grubby. In the past few months, most of my dishes come out dirty. I have spoken to Bosch and they want to charge me for somebody to come out to look at my dishwasher. I am unhappy with this as I believe it should be free of charge, especially since I am unhappy with the quality of the product. Show details
Short life expectancy – When it was running this was a great dishwasher but I expected it to last longer than 3 years and 3 months. 1 month out of warranty we had an issue with electrical current running through the front panel. When I spoke to Bosch they were not concerned at all with our safety. The girl took ages to find the number of the one company in Sydney I… Read more
could call to come and see "if it might" be covered by warranty. This company didn't want to come out unless I would pay an upfront call out fee and advised it was unlikely to be covered. The issue would stop after you unplugged it and plugged it back in. The dishwasher lasted one more year and blew. No longer working. This dishwasher replaced a similar priced two drawer dishwasher that had worked beautifully for 12 years. We were told by salesman from three different appliance stores that Bosch was much better. We were convinced to chose the more expensive German Made version as they were made to last. this is not the only Bosch appliance that has failed on us.
Errors started – I really liked this machine at first and don't get me wrong its been good but in the last couple of months I got the e15 water in the bottom error. Cleared that and then last week it happened again. Cleared it again. Now it is stuck on the quick cycle, flashes 32 mins (the time remaining in the cycle) and then goes to e06. I have changed the door sensor and it still is not working. Show details

Cleans well and Whisper quiet – Time can tell a good quality product, and we have had this dishwasher for well over a year. It has been cleaning relatively well almost all the time. We do occasionally find bits of debris in odd places, but perhaps just because water flow sometimes gets blocked by items nearby. We use the AUTO setting most of the time. When using ECO, it doesn't… Read more · 1
clean as well.
It is very quiet. We have a semi-open plan where our couch is about 7m from the dishwasher clear of walls. We can hardly notice it on.
Now we are hoping to get many more good years out of this product.
Disappointed – Bought the Bosch thinking I would get years of use out of this good brand, but I am disappointed it has broken down just outside of warranty. Had a technician out who says it needs the computer, heat sensor and door sensors fixed. And quoted a price that I could get a new one for. Loved how it was so quiet and cleaned the dishes though.

Bosch SMU68M15AU – Very happy, bought in Feb. 2015. Quiet, efficient, cleans well. Flexible rack configuration, allows bulky/ odd shaped items to fit well. Has cutlery tray which l thought l would hate, but have got used to it and now love it. Sturdy construct, impressed with filter, easy to clean. Will certainly consider Bosch for my next appliance purchase. :D Show reply
Great service – After having as issue with an older model bosch dishwasher I wasn't too happy with bosch. I spoke to Bosch service department who were more than helpful and went out of there way to help as much as they could. I understand nothing lasts forever ( these days). were to have any issues I would feel comfortable knowing they are there to help.
I decided to buy another bosch and so far couldn't be happier.
I also am replacing a 15 year old oven and will definitely be buying a bosch for the same reasons.
Thanks.
Mick.
Great wash good German design – Renovated our kitchen and bought this built in dishwasher as a replacement for another older German built machine. We have been using the dishwasher for 8 months now with no problems. It is quiet, washes well, has a great cultery drawer and can have a delayed start to utilise cheaper electricity rates. It does like to turn cups upside down which have not been placed well in the trays. Overall very happy. Show reply
Shocking – After doing a lot of research before upgrading my diswasher and trusting the good reputation of the Bosch brand I decided to buy a top of the range SMU68M15AU for $1200 from harvey norman less de 6 months ago. Although it washes well the digital clock is an absolute rubbish! The 'timing is never right' if I choose the 29' cycle its starts ok for… Read more
about 10 minutes and then starts to go crazy keeps skipping back to minute 29 and then minute 17 then 22 and so on until it eventually ends the cycle. I had a technician in to confirm the fault, i had to wait over 3 weeks for him to come back with a new part, today finally whe "fixed it " well NOT!! Its back to having the same issues. This is completely unacceptable for a top of the range product. I deeply regret buying it and I would not recomend it to anyone.

So far so good. Very quiet, good cleaning and good drying. Difficult to clean the front however – I bought this dishwasher from the Good Guys about 3 months ago after reading good reviews of other Bosch dishwashers and I'm very please to date with it's performance. It does everything you want from a dishwasher. There is scope for bigger plates with an adjustable top rack. Oversized wine glasses can be accommodated in the bottom drawer by using… Read more · 1
the nifty glass stand, which was thankfully included with my purchase.
Installation was dead easy and the user manual is relatively simple.
Only issues I have are with the sllly little kicker included which I've by passed by installing my own kickers across the front. The other issue is the difficulty in cleaning the front of the unit. The cheaper freestanding units have an easy clean finish, but the integrated ones do not, so the front looks constantly grubby. Bosch if you are reading this, please give some advise on how to clean the front.
So far I'd recommend this unit without hesitation.
More time to relax!! – This dishwasher is very close to perfect, very quiet, cleans well, easy to pack and unpack! I am a plumber and I install quite a few dishwashers, Bosch are by far the easiest to install, mainly for the front screw that lowers and raised the centre back leg! When my clients ask me what dishwasher I recommend it is always a Bosch! I've just talked my sister into buying one! A very happy customer! Show reply
Very quiet machine and love the cutlery drawer – We have this machine for 2 weeks and it replaced an old DIshlex Global dishwasher that we had for the last 20 years. We went for this machine because of the price, the look and the brand. Installation was pretty easy. I especially like the levelling mechanism. It has a nut at the front that control the height at the back. Ingenious! The… Read more · 1
size of the aqua stop at the end of the inlet hose mean that our cutout in the cabinet needs to be enlarged - to about the size of a downpipe - 100 X 50mm. I did some of the cutting with a jigsaw and then the rest with a multifunction tool with the vibrating blade.. We also needed to change our plumbing as our dishlex was connected to the hot water outlet whereas the Bosch should be connected to the cold water.
The dishwasher is very very quiet compared to our old dishlex. It cleans very well. And also we like the cutlery drawer a lot. Moving from a pretty small cutlery basket to this massive drawer makes arranging our chopsticks and cutlery so much easier. And we no longer run the risk of those thin chopsticks dropping through the holes in the basket!
Very happy with purchase and hopefully this would last as long as the last one we had.
Best Dishwasher – Love this Machine took me a while to decide on the dishwasher I wanted this bosch has everything I wanted only 2 weeks old now but so far fantastic ,Washes Perfect, Dries Perfect, so quiet we don't even know its on Show 2 replies
Worked great for the first few years – Bought this dishwasher about 5 years ago. Worked well till 2 weeks ago when error codes started and the check water light started coming on. E24 E21 E14 etc. Checked all filters and hoses but all were fine. Ended up having to pull half of it apart to find a blockage in the heater tank. Replaced heater tank at a cost of $250! Worked a few times but… Read more
all the error codes have reappeared. Now it looks as if the main control or the wash motor might be the issue. That's a couple of hundred bucks I'm not willing to spend!

Great dishwasher – We bought this model because it was mid-range. We didn't want the cheapest models which don't clean very well, but neither did we want to spend a couple of thousand dollars. I really like this dishwasher, more so than the expensive miele at our last rental property. The dishwasher is very solid, extremely quiet, and cleans very well. It has… Read more · 1
a top cutlery tray, the top shelf adjusts up and down so that you can fit large dinner plates on the bottom, and it fits a lot of items in it. The racks are also a perfect height as my cups and glasses don't rattle around when placed on the top shelf - love German design, they just get it right.
I tend to use the same economy setting every wash, and prefer to hand wash knives and non stick pans. The dishwasher seems to cope with most things I throw at it. Occassionally you get a bit of water on the top of plastics after running it, but this doesn't worry me. I'd still recommend it.
Don't buy it if you have young kids who like pushing the buttons – Moved home and left a samsung dishwasher(DW-UG720) behind. Had some cleaning issues with it when running its auto mode, so thought lets pay a bit more and get one of the best, a bosch dishwasher. So, a few points: - The bosch is nosier.... except during water intake and draining, where the bosh is really quiet(!) and sammy is noisy, but… Read more
that's max 1-2% of the run time, so Samsung is kinda better in average
- Bosch is not washing any better unless using the intensive program. Samsung did the same. In auto mode both leaves stuff on the dishes while in longer/heavier programs both are good.
- Samsung had a child lock. Bosch does not. At least i would not call it a child lock. Even if most functions cannot be altered, but the on/off button is not locked!!! Guess what, it took 1 sec to my child to figure out this and started pushing the on/off button 100 times a minute! Well, you can imagine how it will or won't get to the end of the program... But well, if you decided to run the program at night when it is safe from your kids fingers, guess what, next morning his first thing was to start over a (different) program, as this cr@p dishwasher 'forgets' the child lock setting after the program ends and your kid is free to do whatever he wants again!!
Very disappointed.
Oh yeah, the samsung we bought for half the price of the bosch approx a year before. I wish I bought the samsung second time, too.
In the end I gave 3 stars, because apart from the child lock issue(or the lack of this feature) it is still an OK/average dishwasher...

Exceptionally quiet, cleans well, a little disappointed with cutlery drawer – Got my new kitchen and was so excited to replace the horrible Haier dishwasher that I inherited with the house. Was especially looking forward to having a cutlery drawer, but that has turned out to be the only thing I don't really like about my new dishwasher. Apart from being fiddly to load, I find that I have to individually inspect each item… Read more · 1
afterwards as there is often baked on food remnants stuck on at the end of cycle (mostly spoons and between fork prongs). Having said that, if you arrange cutlery carefully in the tray it does speed up the putting away of (hopefully) clean cutlery afterwards.
Other than that, the machine is super quiet and cleans well. I like the vario-speed option and often use it unless dishes are very dirty. This is my 4th Bosch dishwasher (1st lasted 10 years, others left behind on house moves) and I would never go for anything else. Touchwood this one will last the distance - it is the most expensive one by far to date that I have purchased and hopefully my days of moving house are over.
Everything was ok till the blue film came off – We had an IAG POS from Kitchen Connection that finally died and my replacement plan has been from day 1 use Bosch Applances to replace. So far nothing that had been wrong is down to Bosch but last night after removing the blue protective film it happened.... There are dents on the product and one substantial one ( the light shows them that film… Read more

Now I'm immediately thinking it was unpacked less than 1m from the home it was done carefully to avoid this and frankly how would I hit the bottom and top with a sharp impact. I didn't they were done prior to packing.
Totals 3 rather bad dents products looks like a second not impressed at all let's see if Bosch takes responsibility and replaces the door or blames everything else.
It shows the good up from the bad but if I could show the damage you'd understand.
Over all the function seems good positive so far but I've only had it 20hrs.
I just pray Bosch don't screw this up because I like there products. Looks good, not too loud, Space internal Letting this machine past QC, plastic fantastic

A lot better than it's reviews – I had a big list of must haves as I had to replace a "dead" Bosch SGS46M78AU. A new machine had to, at the very least, have the same if not better functions. A cutlery drawer was an absolute priority! I looked around at many different manufacturers, models, price range, customer and professional reviews before commiting to this one. it wasn't rated that highly, I have been more than happy with this. Everything comes out super clean everytime regardless of how full it is. It's super quiet and is a better machine than the last one. I even got a 6 month supply of Finish on purchase Cutlery Tray, delay start, large item head, Flexible height upper basket. It also has a half load option, fast load option, pot scrub...just a great all round machine Turns off after it finishes which I could probably change...haven't looked. It takes a bit of working out to set some things up
Always had Miele but now I'm a Bosch fan – My last home I spent quite a lot of money and bought a Miele dishwasher. After only four years the bottom of the dishwasher had rusted out. After some complaints Miele replaced it with a cheaper model from their range. When I sold my house I left it there with the owners and I was pleased to leave it behind me. When I moved into my new place the… Read more · 3
Bosch dishwasher was part of the deal. It had cutlery drawer which I was pretty surprised to see as I thought that only Miele had these.
Unfortunately the old bosch model SMU68M05AU died after being in the new place 6mths and when the repairer came out he said that the previous owners had not maintained it very well and it was full of slug (apparently this occurs when you don't clean out the filter) and the circuitboard had given up and wasn't worth fixing as the dishwasher was over six years old.
The previous owners of this house were not very clean people so I believed him we said the dishwasher had a hard life.
But in the six months that I had it it was fabulous so when the time came to replace it I did all my research and tested out all the models. I also looked at choice Magazine and product review. In terms of power and water consumption and also taking into account the reviews on this website about reliability I decided not to go with the F&P, Westinghouse or LG. The Omega I found to be very flimsy the handle were very plastic and the door felt very light and cheap. Because of the previous experience I had with Miele and the rusting I decided to give them a miss. A friend of mine has a Baumatic dishwasher and it's absolute garbage.
So I stuck with the bosch and got the current model of my old one SMU68M15AU.
My husband installed it and it's got adjustable legs and the stainless steel kickboard was included which was a great bonus. The cutlery drawer is amazing if you have a baby and have bottles or you use a lot of plastic containers like I do it's wonderful for Lids and small items and of course cutlery Nothing from what I can see. I will clean the filters regularly and I'm sure I will get many more than the six years from the previous model just because I'll look after it
OK until it died prematurely – Had this unit for 4 years (previous version SMU68M05AU). Worked well until it reached it's 4th year and the circuit board failed. The Bosch supplied repairman said it should have lasted a lot longer (15 - 20 years) but failed due to the circuit board being faulty. I tried contacting Bosch to state my case given this was not a wear and tear part...… Read more
however they refused to help, in fact they didn't want to know me even though I was trying to be very nice about it. In the end I have had to purchase a new dishwasher as the cost of a new board was $700 and and added $260 for fitting. Bosch after warranty service is terrible as they weren't prepared to help at all with a part that should not have failed. In the end I was grateful that E & S Trading (where I bought the dishwasher from) gave me a very good price with free extended warranty on another unit as they too were very disappointed at Bosch's attitude. washed well terrible after sales service, faulty machine.
Trouble from the start! – This machine is 9 months old and doesn't wash properly. All grit that is left on the dishes is then baked on in the drying cycle and is hard to remove. Cabinet has signs of rust and at times dish washer tablets fail to dissolve. Very expensive machine with very poor results Company did not stand behind the report that was done by independant… Read more
