Time for a replacement… but only after 11 years of solid use – We purchased this dryer in 2011. It has dried all of our clothes (we dry EVERYTHING) in this time. I had the door handle break maybe 4 years ago which I ordered a spare and replaced myself for around $40. We probably dry 3 to 5 full loads every weekend and they always have come out fine. The lint filter is still the original. The buttons are… Read more

those touch buttons which sometimes get a little funny if my finger is a bit dry… but you just hold your finger on a little longer and it detects it.

The only reason we are looking for a replacement now is it has started squeezing when it gets hot. Have pulled it apart and lubed where I can get to, but an appliance repair shop said it’s likely the main bearing and the cost of parts and labour to replace would likely warrant just getting a new dryer… so out it goes, still drying fine, but the squeezing does my head in…

Thanks for the solid 11 years Bosch.

This dryer doesn't dry – I have a Bosch WTA74200AU dryer supplied by the developer of my new apartment. It doesn't dry. It doesn't dry a mixed load on mixed load and I'm having to dry outside the dryer, it doesn't dry cottons on cupboard dry; it does dry towels on the towel setting, but if they are in a mixed load it doesn't and I mostly do a mixed load, it won't dry a… Read more

few items, e.g. cotton underwear, unless I use the timed function, but that's only warm and can take up to one hour and twenty minutes at least, which means i have to come back after each twenty minutes to reset, and it wraps my sheets into a ball, even if i do them one at a time - which annoys me as it's time-consuming and energy inefficient to have to wash separately. The timed function showed 11 more minutes tonight, but finished before i even got back to my desk. I find it frustrating and extremely annoying, not to mention time-consuming. And the lint filter is extremely difficult to clean - lint collects in the cavity and although I have a small hand it's difficult to clean. And yes, I always clean the lint filter after every use.

Not up to Bosch Standard – I live in NZ,Bought this dryer brand new in 2012, did not start using until end 2013, when house completed and retired, your cupboard dry certainly is not mine, all clothes still wet, nothing helps even with the easy care, after three uses had to resort back to my 12 year old F& P dryer to get the clothes dry. This is the worst piece of Bosch… Read more

machinery I have ever owned and I have owned a few. Won't buy anything Bosch again. Have always liked the European brands till now.

Needs to have drainage tube as part of the machine not optional extra – We are very impressed with the capacity and efficiency of this dryer but the " tank" which collects the water fills quickly and the machine doesn't stop when the tank is full. Surely this isn't safe? When we boughtThis machine there was no other option to buy a machine WITH DRAINAGE TUBE WHICH IS CLEARLY ESSENTIAL IN THIS MACHINE! The drawer… Read more ·  1

which holds the "tank" is flimsy and has broken. .BOSCH NEEDS TO DEVELOP A RETRO FITTED DRAINAGE TUBE WHICH COULD BE DIVERTED I TO A GREY WASTE TANK.

It's okay, but I expected better from Bosch – Good: It's very large so you can fit a blanket or doona, relatively quiet and simple to use. Bad: The fact that the drum spins only one way it's very annoying because often sheets get tangled in one massive ball making everything in the middle still wet. With the delicates options no matter what option you use, it does not come out dry so I… Read more

still have to hang it somewhere to finish drying (which defeats the purpose of putting it in the drier in first place)

The more I use it, the more I wish I had chosen something else...

Cracked Drum - now a throw out – brought this 4 years ago and didn't use it for a year because the building of our house was delayed. So in use for 3 years. Now has a cracked drum! Repair man says new drum $400 and need to replace rollers as well. Total + his time = $700. Not happy. Brought this because of the side venting to the outside and have the builders put in the side… Read more

vent so now have to buy another the same but will this one last any longer? if not for the venting I would not buy this brand. Lived in the US and had a Maytag for 15 years without a problem. I thought that with "German Engineering" it would stand the test of time but obviously this is not true. Just a heap of junk off to the landfill. Under bench Cracked drum. Too expensive to repair.

Product 2 years and 2 months old - dead – When I used the dryer, it was great. Now it is 2 years and 2 months old and it is dead. After having paid nearly $800 for the dryer with the 'Bosch' brand to boot, I would expect a dryer which is used infrequently to last longer. What happened to the good old days when you bought a whitegood, it actually lasted. I have contacted Bosch via their… Read more

Problems with this dryer – It seems to have a sensor that stops it drying any further when it 'thinks' the clothes are dry. The problem is, they aren't. I can't get clothing properly dry no matter how hard I try, the hottest and longest program, repeated programs, very small loads of similar weight items, and following every guideline in the manual regarding distance of… Read more

walls from the vent, everything. Please, all I want is a dryer that will actually dry my clothing. I've had to throw away clothing that was smelly as it wasn't dried properly. Nothing. Expensive and doesn't do the job - poorly designed?

Nice, large and solid dryer – I just bought this dryer a month ago when my wonderful Simpson which I had never had a problem with in 5 years became uneven in a load and crushed the ball bearings. I am having trouble understanding which cycles to use, all these new machines seem to be auto-sensing, and several loads have still been very damp when finished. Most of the cycles… Read more ·  1

are actually meant to finish damp for ironing, and hanging.

The vent at the back, used for attaching to wall vent is OPEN when purchased. The manual states that if you are not attaching the drying to a vent, the machine must be 1 METER from the wall. Yeah, right. Mine is about 30cm from the wall and I put a thick board between the dryer and the wall.

I am quite happy with my purchase, just need to figure out which cycles I need to use (the manual is VERY light on).

There really were not many choices when buying a new dryer. Most of the dryers at the shop were pieces of flimsy plastic junk. So it was either this model or one of the Electrolux model's. I chose this one because it is 7kg, the Electrolux was 5kg.

Purchased for $780 with extended warranty (5 years in total). Large and solid. Attractive. The vent at the back should be CLOSED. Can't expect people to have the dryer a whole meter from the wall.

Threat investment I've ever made – What an amazing tumble dryer. Sensors when clothing is dry. Water from clothing goes into a draw which you can water your plants with. Quite machine. Fluff goes into a little basket located in the front and is easy to clean. Various settings in order to dry clothing requiring a gentle dry.

Excellent – Had this machine for about 2 months, combined with a logixx washing machine. Paid a ridiculous $199 for it with a promo. can't believe my luck! Anyway I use it every day and so far it senses the level of dryness that I choose every time. great machine. excellent machine, does what it says it will do! lint filter is easy access and easy to use
