After previously reporting how this unit was an off the shelf display unit from my local The Good Guys store and discovering when I got home and downloaded the owner manual, that five accessory pieces were missing, today I used this unit to make pumpkin soup. When I used the puree attachment, the rotating plastic blade promptly fell off. It seemed to lock in place but as soon as I raised the blade, it just fell into the soup. I think that there may be something missing, as when I first bought it home, I heard something drop onto the floor and to date I haven't been able to find it. It is not listed as being a separate part and so I think that it was just a poorly made part. So off to The Good Guys store at Booval tomorrow to see if I can get it replaced. I'll probably ask about the missing parts as well. They may just say that as it was a display unit and I was given a good price, that I should just go away, like other reviewers have had happen to them in regard to The Good Guys.
Purchased in at The Good Guys Physical store for $180.
Went back to The Good Guys at Booval re: the Braun stick mixer set that I had purchased. As I suspected, I was given a good price as it was a display unit. However nothing about the five missing parts that should have been in the original box when it was first delivered to the store. I asked about them, but I was told that sometimes staff just take what they need out of the box and the rest gets tossed out and is never seen again. Amazing. Anyway, I found the part that had dropped out of the puree attachment. The end of the spindle has a fine thread on it, but Braun don't use a nut to affix the puree head, they use a cheap form of engineering that looks like a disc with a hole in the middle and then it is just punched onto the thread. Crazy stuff. I couldn't get it back on. I think that using a suitable sized nut to fit the thread would make more sense. Upshot is that I couldn't get a replacement for the whole series 9 set, but I got the series 5 (out of the box this time) and settled for an extended 3 year warranty for the same cost. So The Good Guys came good on this matter, but I have learned a very important lesson about buying display items when you have no idea as to what you are supposed to be getting for your money. Definitely a case of caveat emptor
Ooops. Should be Braun series 7 as initially mentioned.
Not just a blender – I was actually very surprised by this product.. The attachments are great..from blending to beating egg whites.. I was looking for a stick blender that was sturdy yet not too heavy..The Braun is just that. I chop herbs in it..I mix dips , blend soups.. Very multifunctional and easy to clean which is a must.

What an absolute heap of rubbish – I purchased this blender from Myer for $199 and was very excited to use my new item for the first time. I came to assemble the stick blender and what do you know? The parts don’t fit together. You can imagine the adjectives I have used to describe how bad this product is. It appears that Braun have absolutely no quality control in their factory and this absolutely shows.
How this stick blender was ever allowed to leave the factory and make its way into my home begs belief.
Braun you should be ashamed.
I have attach some photographs to show how the parts don’t even fit together, you can clearly see it’s a manufacturing defect.
The child who assembled the stick blender didn’t line up the plastic in the middle properly and now these parts don’t go together. Close but misaligned by 5mm.
What a waste of time and money purchasing this item, I now look forward to the endless task of trying to return this defective item.
I suggest you don’t waste your time this is what it does when it’s brand-new imagine after a few uses.

I have found the problem. After disassembling the impeller assembly head, it appears that there is supposed to be a small nut or similar that attaches to the threaded end of the drive shaft which is enclosed in the hub of the plastic impeller head. I guess what I heard when I started to assemble the unit when I got it home, was that nut or whatever it was. Very poor build quality on the part of Braun Australia.
