Inaccurate Readings Immediately One After The Other – This product is absolute garbage! Waste of money and dangerous. You can take three readings without even removing it from the ear and get three completely different readings up to 2 degrees different! Replaced batteries so there’s no excuse. Remove the thermometer from the child’s ear completely and still got three completely different readings. If you are a parent who likes to have accurate thermometer readings DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Could not handle babies’ illnesses without this – I’ve been using this Thermoscan since 2017, when we bought it. It has served us very well with both our children. The read is accurate, I have base line temperatures for both my babies so I know when the read is higher than their usual temperature, they have a fever. This has always worked for us, we’ve had no issue at all. I wouldn’t have bothered writing a review about it to be honest but my husband said the other day ‘this thermometer has worked well for us, we should write a review’ so I did. I’m sorry to hear some others have had trouble, but for me, I seriously couldn’t handle my kids being sick without this. I would repurchase if it stopped working because it is brilliant in my opinion. I’m pretty sure it’s the Thermoscan 5, bought in 2017 but I could be mistaken about the model - please get in touch with me if you want more info. UPDATE 2026: Still working beautifully still cant handle my children being sick without this thermometer - honestly one of the BEST purchases made as a parent.

2 different reading on two different braun theromoscans – I have a braun thermoscan from 20 yrs ago which we use at home i recently bought my daughter a new 6500 took temp last night very different reading with both, I tried both because didn't feel very feverish at the higher temp. old thermoscan said said 98.6 to 99.2 new one said 100.1 to 100.4. online instructions are saying its not fever at 100.5 . I always thought 99.5 was a fever.
